This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 15th day of June, 1934, in accordance with request made by the sister - Mrs. [489], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Harlem Valley Time of Reading State Hospital] 3:15 to 3:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York Hosp., Wingdale, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Don’t get this! (Long pause, mumbling over and over.) [GD’s note: Perhaps the difficulty in locating the body was due to the name of the hospital not being presented properly.]

2. Yes, we have those conditions that surround this body as called now [586], New York Hospital, Wingdale, New York.

3. As we find, there may not in this experience be much added now to that which is being applied; only towards keeping the body quiet. For there has much that many would study in such a case departed from the surroundings of this body.

4. The hypnotics are as effective and as look injurious to the body. As we find, it had been well were there made more thorough examinations in some specific directions in the past; but for this experience it is passed.

5. The coordination has been severed between that which is of the physical-physical and the mental and spiritual activities as a unit.

6. As we find, little may be added, save for the comfort of this body.

7. While, through the concerted efforts of those that would induce a REGENERATION of the body mentally, spiritually, there might be brought to the body a more awareness of its condition, this - from here - we would not advise.

8. Let that which has been set already be carried out.

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) Is there anything that can be done that has not been done to aid her to get well? (A) As given, we would give best that which has been set and is being done be done for this present physical experience.

11. (Q) Is there any advice for those who would help this body? (A) Let that be done in a manner as to keep as much of the quiet and as free from physical pain as may be done.

12. We are through with this reading.

[EC frowned on awaking and said he felt strange. GC said she felt while giving the suggestion for going to sleep that something wanted to come through, also at close of rdg. EC said he saw a friend of Mrs. [489]‘s, also the mean looking face of a Chinaman.]

R1. 6/34 Sister’s [489] ltr. to EC: “Many thanks for the reading for my sister. It was disappointing of course but I felt it would be - so was prepared. I feel though now as if we could rest, as there is nothing to be done at present.”

R2. 6/25/34 EC’s reply: ”…It was disappointing to us also that there was not at least something offered in your sister’s reading. So seldom do we have a case where there is no hope offered, that this was quite a bit of surprise to us. Usually some suggestion is made for comfort or ease, if no permanent help; but I’m sure this indicates that every means possible is being used at the present time. Of course, the prayers of many may bring about a change in the conditions, that later something may be done…”

R3. 9/28/35 Mrs. [586]‘s daughter [Miss [4938]] fell out of a bedroom window and was killed. See 4938-1 which Mrs. [489] obtained about it.
