This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of March, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [599].

Time of Reading 4:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ala. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [599]. This we have had before. Now, the conditions as we find in general are very good. Those of the conditions as produce pressure in the auditory forces of the body are existent, for the full corrections have never been made in the dorsal and cervical regions, as cause or produce pressure; so that, when over-tired or when congestion comes from cold or drafts, wet feet, or such, there is the irritation of same. Well were the body to take some more CORRECTIVE measures, and have these applied osteopathically - adjustments - rather than the chiropractic adjustments, and we will find that the RELIEF will be of a more permanent nature.

2. Also in the application of those of the battery forces, these we would find would be nearer in attune were those of the Radio-Active Appliance as has been outlined used, rather than those that are combined Wet Cell or B?] at the present. Not sufficient of the variation in the vibrations as are set up. These will be the more helpful for the body.

3. Also we will find that, with the attunement of the self in the periods when the body sits for that of silence, the better PHYSICALLY fit the better the ATTUNEMENT will be for those active forces of the psychic influences, and of the CONNECTIVE ratios between the Borderland and the Beyond for the entity; for, as has been given, the voices may be heard by this body when ATTUNING self, even as the VISION AND the voice. Keep self attuned. Keep in that way and manner as befitting THAT as is DESIRED by the body, for first there is the desire - then there is the proper seeking for that desired. Not as selfish motives, but that self may aid even those IN the Borderland in their understanding of the relationship of an entity TO its creative forces, and that which the SOUL seeks. Amen.

R1. 4/14/30 “Referring to 599-8, advise the use of Radio-Active Appliances as has been outlined. Can you advise me concerning same, as no reference has been made of such appliances in former rdgs. The idea of the first batteries recommended has come into my consciousness - the one with copper and zinc with bluestone.” [See 599-1 - Wet Cell Appliance.]

R2. 4/30 Cayce Hospital sent him [or was asked to send him] an explanation of the Radio-Active Appliance now being built [as described in [1800] series].

R3. 4/29/30 “Please send me some Ipsab, as I am nearly out.”

R4. 5/7/30 “In reply to your questionnaire Cayce Hospital] will state that I have followed none of the suggestions made in my last rdg., 599-8. Circumstances over which I have no control prevent. I need advice in arranging the battery to give the Radio-Active forces, as I have no knowledge along that line. Can’t get the services of an osteopath now - expect to ship on a dredgeboat within the next 60 days, where I can arrange a time and place to sit in the silence. The battery is my main trouble just now. Am using the old one, or one of a past rdg., now.”

R5. 8/11/30 “My health seems to be good - ears ringing yet. The rdg. failed to describe the battery. I wrote Mrs. Atkinson [Sara C. Atkinson, Sec’ty of Cayce Hospital] for further instructions or information as to where I could get the battery but got no reply. Would have written sooner but have been on a 6-wk. voyage on the Alabama River - may go on another soon - would like to carry the battery with me. No osteopath in this town, but will get the adjustments at the earliest convenience.” [8/16/30 He ordered the Radio-Active Appliance from the Cayce Hospital for $15.00.]

R6. 12/4/30 “I sent a P.O. M/O on 11/18/30 to the Benstock Drug Co. requesting them to send me some Ipsab - have heard nothing from them. Will you please phone them when you have time? I am out of Ipsab for the first time in years.” [12/10/30 EC’s ltr. indicated that Benstock Drug Co. had just closed. EC sent him some Ipsab.]

R7. 3/21/31 “I wish to continue what I believe to be the greatest work of the age. You will have my heartiest support and also financial help when and if I have some finances to handle. Please ask Mr. L. B. Cayce to cast my votes for me, as I am unable to attend the meeting [initial reorganization of EC’s work under A.R.E.].”

R8. 5/27/31 “I have a shipmate who has pyorrhea (just started). We are sending 5, 3 for me and $2 for him. Please send us Ipsab in two bottles at your earliest convenience… Am using battery regularly now.

R9. 6/18/31 “My shipmate told me just now that he believes his teeth are getting solid in his jaw… Am using battery to the limit - have plenty of ice and ice water. Cannot be in private so am neglecting my periods of silence.”

R10. 9/16/31 Letter to GD: “I would like to know how the fund is coming out.” [He refers to GD’s ltr. 6/25/31 in re starting fund to buy EC a home - see under 1734-2 Reports.]

R11. 2/10/32 GD’s ltr.: “We haven’t heard from you some time and are wondering how you are getting along. We miss a word of encouragement from you now and then.

“Yes, it does seem inconceivable that one man could have caused so much sorrow and disruption in the work - but that, we hope, is all over. We have come to and passed the parting of the ways. Our new Association has been formed and we are going along nicely. While we haven’t any money, we are spreading the light - slowly but surely. From June 15th to July 1st we are to have an Annual Congress of members at Virginia Beach. Won’t you plan to be with us at least part of that time, so as to meet with other members, discuss the progress of the work, and plan for the future?

“I’m wondering how you are getting along physically. Please let us hear from you occasionally, at least. Do you know a Capt. Noah Miller, who is on a dredge down in Florida? His family lives in Norfolk and they are very close in the work. I thought probably you had come across him in some of your travels.

“The plans for the house are going along, slowly but surely. We have a small fund started, and the Norfolk Study Group (nineteen people of Norfolk and Virginia Beach who are studying the readings firsthand, and who are preparing lessons from them to be sent out to other groups) is writing articles from the readings to have published. [See [262] series.] We should make some money that way, and very quickly. I hope that in a very short while we may have a home for Mr. Cayce and a house nearby for offices and for the work itself to be carried on in.

“I know you don’t like to write letters, but we love to hear from you just the same - so please do.

“About the application, I wish you’d sign up anyway, whether you can send any money now or not. We want your signature on our records as an Official Representative of the work wherever you may be. Just to have you aligned with us, with your signature, means much.
