GC: You will have before you the entity, [628], born April 30, 1928, in Miss Lippincott’s Hospital, Madison Ave. & 60th St., New York City, and who is now at …, N.Y. The entity seeks information, advice and guidance, as to her health, and as to her life and work. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the entity here, [628].
-
In its various phases of development we have had this before - physical and life experience.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Regarding the physical, - can you give suggestions for the sinus-cold which is worst in the morning and usually disappears by night? (A) This is a tendency of hindered circulation through the upper cervical and dorsal to slow the circulation when the body is lying prone.
Each evening, for some eight to ten evenings, we would massage the body with Cocoa Butter in the area from between the shoulders to the base of the brain; this warm, and massaged in rather vigorously.
Also each morning use an inhalant prepared in a large-mouth container, so arranged that two vents may go through the cork but not into the solution, and these vents so arranged as to be corked:
To 4 ounces of Grain Alcohol, in at least a six or eight ounce container, add - in the order named:
Oil of Eucalyptus…20 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…5 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…15 minims, Tolu in Solution…30 minims.
Shake the solution, then remove the cork from each vent, and inhale through one of the vents deep into the nostril. This will act as an antiseptic, as a healer, by the fumes of same. If the throat gets dry at times, inhale into the throat also.
Do this and we will find these conditions will disappear - unless there are colds or congestions.
But the regular exercise will make for better conditions through these portions of the disturbances.
- (Q) I also have a rash at times, and am overweight. Any suggestions? (A) The rash is part of this same circulation being disturbed. This will be materially aided by this brisk massage daily with the Cocoa Butter in the areas indicated.
As for the weight, - this is not a great overweight, but a nominal development. If there is the cutting down on the starches we will find that the weight will reduce. And we would take regular setting up exercises for a few minutes morning and evening. This, too, will aid in keeping much better circulation. Stretch the arms high above the head, slowly rising on the toes at the same time; then bending forward, stooping, and with the arms extended to the side when stooping; raising them, while stooped, above the head; then standing. Do this three to four times, but be consistent; don’t take it a few days and then leave off, but do it regularly.
- (Q) I am seeking suggestions as to what I should prepare to do when I am through school. (A) As we find, those general tendencies and abilities should be taken into consideration. As we have indicated, the entity has very good judgements in its own self. Those preparations in the school and in the activities should be towards music. This will ever be a field wherein the entity may apply itself to advantage; not merely as a partially prepared musician, but as an accomplished musician. This, to be sure, requires practice. This requires a great deal of study on the part of self. But this APPLIED will bring into the experience an unfoldment to many of the beauties in nature, much of that which is the rhythm of the whole experience of life itself; and it offers a channel through which the entity - through that transition period from young ladyhood to the home builder - may apply self to the benefit of the many.
It will also give channels or means that, you may be sure, will not be hindered by the general circumstances or conditions. For, this phase of the experience in this fair land will be the greater stressed when there are those periods of peace, and of joy in the earth.
And these preparations should be in those lines of sacred music, as well as that having to do with the rhythm of the body itself.
-
(Q) What types of body-movement or rhythm should be stressed? (A) This, as indicated, will be an unfoldment of this body itself, as it applies itself. To attempt to copy some particular type would be to destroy the initiative that is part of this entity’s ability, and may be the entity’s experience - if it applies self in those directions.
-
(Q) Should I try to go to college or will it be possible to get the necessary training to earn a living at my present school (The Knox School, Cooperstown, N.Y.)? (A) It will be possible, if there is the desire to carry on in this particular field of activity. The preparation can be completed in the present school, and then - should the opportunity be offered - it may be completed in any musical conservatory or training school. OR, there may be the application of self as an accompanist, as one that may contribute much to music, especially the types of music that will be a part of the experience, if there is the application of self made in those directions indicated.
-
(Q) Will this field of endeavor be practicable after the war? (A) As indicated, there will be a greater stress put upon such in the lives of the young, as well as in the daily experience of those farther advanced in years.
-
(Q) Any other advice or counsel that will be helpful at this time? (A) Keep a balance in the spiritual, the mental and the physical. For, there should ever be in the experience of the entity the SPIRITUAL application of that which is the entity’s ideal, spiritually. Find the application in the mental, and it will bring material results.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/2/43 Mother [772]‘s ltr.: “We are certainly surprised at rdg. [628] is the only one in the family who isn’t a little musical but maybe if she starts in now she may be able to do something after all - the only question is to find the money for lessons… The physical part is fine and she will start in on that at once. We will let you know later what we do about the music - would be very interesting if we could afford to let her have lessons now. Several yrs. ago she could have studied piano when [566] did, but she refused so strongly that we just supposed that she was completely unmusical.”
R2. 1/21/43 “No, we weren’t displeased with [628]‘s rdg. - we were just flabbergasted because we didn’t think she had any music in her. She doesn’t even seem to like to dance but perhaps that is because she is so much bigger than all the boys. However, she is very much interested and we are going to try and do something about it… She was so fascinated with life at the ranch in Arizona, I think she hoped the rdg. would tell her to be a cowboy, or cowgirl rather.”

B2. 11/30/42 Father [261]‘s ltr.: “[628] has to decide shortly whether to prepare for a regular academic course at college or to prepare for a business course or some specialized work. She doesn’t show any particular bent but perhaps the rdg. will point one out. Also are there any special activities at school that she should be engaged in and now is not?
It would probably be well to ask 1-2 questions as to her physical condition and whether any special corrective tr. should be given. She seems to have a sinus infection - should anything special be done for it. Unfortunately, she does not like to use inhalants or sprays, which makes it rather difficult.”
B3. 12/14/32 Mother [772] submitted questions. “She knows what she DOESN’T want to do (school teaching or office work), but doesn’t know what she does want to do.”
