This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 44 West 77th St., Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 16th day of October, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [635], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [635]; this we have had before.

2. The general conditions of this body, as we find, are much improved in many ways.

3. The specific or the acute conditions that have arisen, with the attempt to make the corrections necessary to eliminate much of that which has disturbed the body, are causing a great deal of anxiety - and well they might, under the existent conditions.

4. As we find, in reference to the growth in those portions of the mouth or gum, it would be well that - before this is cut or removed - there be given a period of at least two to three weeks of the electrical treatments with the diathermy, one given every second or third day during that period.

5. These, as we find, would cleanse the system in such a manner that then, under proper precautions upon the part of those removing same, there would be caused little or no disturbance; PROVIDED there is sufficient deep activity to remove the roots of this growth, rather than cutting just the superficial part.

6. In making the applications of the diathermy, let these be with the first pad placed on the 3rd and 4th dorsal, and the other upon the umbilicus or lacteal duct center; that there may be the eliminations and circulation - not of too great a rate or high voltage, but rather the low voltage.

7. Take such a treatment about every third day for three weeks, for forty to fifty minutes.

8. THEN, if there are the proper precautions about the diet, the system will be in the condition for the operative measures.

9. Keep up the rest of those suggestions that have been given for eliminations of poisons from the system.

10. Ready for questions.

11. (Q) What diet? (A) This has been indicated.

12. (Q) What can the body do to keep the lump from reforming? (A) As indicated, cut it out - but take the roots, and then it doesn’t form! If you just cut it superficially, it will form again!

13. (Q) Would you suggest any local application after the operation, for the place itself? (A) Those necessary precautions that are taken with all such conditions, provided the surgeon and the operative forces are out of the nature or sort that attend to such things - and they should be, to be sure.

14. We are through for the present.

R1. 2/10/36 [635]‘s letter: “At the time I didn’t seem to be able to locate such a machine here - Now I know there is one

• Dr. Brown. We had never had him as physician until since we have been here - during this past Jan. [2809] got down in his back and Dr. Brown treated him. I used the vibrator on my face and a very good mouth wash and kept the teeth out for nearly 2-3 weeks and it healed. Once in a while it (growth on upper gum) gets a little sore but it isn’t as large as it was, so it has never been cut off. I believe I’m glad it wasn’t, altho in time it may have to be - but it doesn’t trouble me now. Don’t think for a second, tho, that I haven’t troubles, for I have many - Look at this handwriting. I have neuritis or something all over my body. I can’t lift my arms, use them right in any way. My left arm is worse and it’s now down in my left side, runs around all thru left side into back. Last night had to take Aspirin to even get to sleep, and used vibrator. It all troubles me the worst at nights.”

R3. 3/16/37 [635]‘s letter: “We all the past 2 wks. have had the flu. I was flat for a wk. - then - don’t laugh - I picked up a big log to put on fire and dropped it on one of my big toes

• you should see my foot - better now - but still black and blue - couldn’t get shoe on for days - there’s a great knot on top of toe - really I believe it’s fractured, not broken into but cracked - it pains something awful at nights.”

R4. 3/20/37 EC’s ltr.: “Make an ointment of equal parts Mutton Tallow (melted), Turpentine, Camphor and Compound Tincture of Benzoin, about a tablespoonful of each. Massage the toe with this and it should get it in shape, even if there is a bit of fracture it will help it heal, but if it still hurts you’d better have it looked after - might give you a lot of trouble.”

R5. 3/22/37 [635]‘s letter: “I did a most foolish thing… Last wk. a girl helping me helped me bring a large dressing table from the basement up two long flights of steps, besides other distance - then besides that I went on front terrace and, alone, moved an enormous concrete vase, heavy for one man, 8-10 feet. Well, I’m paying for it, and how! Thought all Sun. and Mon. would have to have operation - brought on things I shouldn’t have. Will I ever get over it, do you suppose? I’m flat on my back now - worst pains - feels as tho everything in me is falling out. What will happen? Thank you for toe rub - toe seems better, pretty sore and blue yet.”
