1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [638]; this we have had before.

2. Now, as we find, there are bettered conditions in some respects; yet the anxiety in many portions over the system from the lack of the stimuli that have been altered in the system produces the nervousness - and the anxiety on the part of the whole body.

3. As we find, there has been a too sudden change from the circulatory stimulant to a more normal reaction. We would alter or change these in this manner: Rather than giving the Gold in the system we would give it through the vibrations of the Radio-Active Appliance, thus making the stimulation to the system but making it in a manner such as not to produce the strain from the lack of the heart stimuli.

4. We would use, then, the stimulus - that is, the digital and the strychnine - in rather restricted doses; not so much.

5. And we would continue with the massage.

6. As the changes come about there should be the gradual decrease in the amount of stimulus.

7. The Radio-Active Appliance would be attached to the torso of the body, to each extremity - in a circle about the body; first the plain anode to the right wrist, and the anode carrying the Gold solution we would attach to that portion of the abdomen OVER the lacteal duct or to the right, and two to four inches - this being a larger plate - will cover. At the next treatment attach the plain anode first to the opposite side of the body, or the left ankle, while the anode carrying the Gold solution would be attached to the same spot. We would alternate the attachments in this manner. The treatments would be given two or three times a week for thirty to forty to fifty minutes at a time.

8. The same doses of the digital as indicated heretofore. The strychnine would be rather an eightieth grain, and reduced in number.

9. We will bring quiet and help to the body.

10. Ready for questions.

11. (Q) How should the Gold solution be prepared? (A) One grain to one ounce of distilled water, or fifteen grains to fifteen ounces of water - in that proportion. Do not use the Soda with same; only the Gold solution in the anode or lead going to the trunk portion of body.

R2. 9/20/34 Sister’s ltr.: “Your rdg. and later ltr. rec’d. Have written about the appliance. Kindly let me know what I owe you for the last rdg. I am glad to tell you that my sister, Miss [638], seems better. I only hope her memory will come back. She seems to have lost all knowledge of some important things. She thinks she has no money, never had any - will not believe she owns her house. Although she has lost a lot of money, that cannot be the reason for her condition, as her largest losses were after she was taken sick, and she really knows nothing of them.”

R3. 10/12/34 “Have rec’d the appliance and am starting using it today… I am hoping for very good results from this treatment…”

R4. 11/9/34 “She refuses to take massage from a stranger. In … a friend gave her the treatment. Is there anything that would take the place of the massage that I can do? She enjoys the appliance treatment and I think they are benefitting her. She sleeps much better.”

R5. 11/28/34 “For the past week or two she has been very restless, nothing I can do seems to help much, although she sleeps some better than in the past. I am using the appliance as directed.”

R6. 12/31/34 “My Sister is much better than when I first wrote you and I am sure the appliance is doing good work. I think I have solved the massage problem. I have a roller that I use - it is rubber balls on a wire cable, attached at each end to a handle. As I roll it over her body each rubber ball revolves. I use it as you directed for the massage. At first I didn’t notice any quieting effect, but for the last week or more it has given fine results. I am greatly encouraged… Do you think my sister will ever recover? She seems in good physical health, but at times get very nervous over anything, small or large, and never mind what one tells her she declares she has been told that before… Much of the time she seems perfectly normal, so much so that one thinks at last she is over the trouble, then without any apparent cause back she goes, but she no longer gets frantic as she used to… I am so grateful for what you have done for her - she is so much better than a year ago… Do you think if she had her teeth out it would help?”

R7. 1/3/35 EC’s letter to [638]‘s sister:

“Your letter of recent date I have just received, and am very glad to know that you feel your sister is better. I think you have solved the problem regarding the massage, and if this works out - as it apparently is doing - it should be just the thing.

“The results from the Radio-Active Appliances have been and are marvellous, even to us, Mrs. […]. Of course, as yet we are somewhat at a loss for words when we try to tell people what they are supposed to do - these appliances; but there is more and more research work being done on them all the time, with some most unusual and remarkable reports.

“I wish I knew just how to answer you about your sister’s condition. Of course, at best, I should say that only palliative help could come - when we consider her age, and the ordinary span of life; yet from the experiences we have had time and again with the use of the appliances, it seems they give strength and vitality in such a measure that we hardly know what to expect. As an illustration: Some years ago a physician had a reading for his mother in Texas, who was then about ninety-two years old, [actually 75 yrs.] very delicate, and complained a great deal of getting very cold. She would pile in bed with a lot of cover. In her active life she had been a practical nurse. But in the reading one of the Radio-Active Appliances was suggested to equalize her circulation. She has now passed the century mark. [Actually 87 yrs. - GD’s note: This is an example of EC’s exaggeration at times the story would have been just as effective if telling Mrs. [247]‘s exact age.] Quite recently I heard from her son-in-law, with whom she is staying. He tells me that Mother [247] is still as spry as a cricket; gets about wherever she wants to go, back and forth between the towns there in the State, visiting her children - but is never to be found on a visit without her little appliance, which she carries along with her and - as he says - swears by it as she does her Bible. So, I hardly know what to tell you. Of course, if she recovers her memory at all it is going to be somewhat slow. It wouldn’t be well to irritate her, but to recall things might be a very good way to find the reactions building up in such a way that she might be entirely rid of the trouble - and be able to go along for some years yet.

“As to her teeth, I would suggest that you have a thorough examination made first - to see whether they should come out, and if it could be done without a great deal of worry and discomfort. That would be better; because, as you very well know, the readings are usually quite practical but at times are different from what may be ordinarily termed practical by some physicians. But I would advise that the examination be made. Should at any time any condition arise about which you would like to ask me questions, please don’t hesitate doing so.

“I certainly hope you all spent a very pleasant Christmas and that the New Year holds many joys and pleasures for you and yours.”

R8. 1/3/35 GD’s note: “Dr. Reilly, Mrs. […] says her sister, Miss [638], is receiving good from using her appliance. And I thought you would like to have the record Mr. Cayce gives in this letter regarding the case in Texas.
