This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of June, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [639].

Time of Reading 10:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Florida.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions regarding same that I may ask you.

2. EC: (Yes - very unusual circumstances surrounding the conditions at the present time, see?)

3. Now, we find there are conditions as - were these corrected - would bring about the more normal functioning of the physical forces of the body, and thus bring the better conditions in the physical and mental manner. These, as we find, have to do with the eliminations, and the conditions as have been produced in various portions of the system, and the effect as these have on the functioning of organs.

4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them in this body, [639], we are speaking of. First:

5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find very good in many respects, yet the elements and constituents of the supply show the lack of proper elimination. Hence a disturbed circulation in various portions, especially about those centers where subluxations in the ganglions show improper nerve reflexes.

6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find many of the seats and causes of conditions as are existent in the physical forces of the body. These are rather those of the nature where the segments are too close. Hence there are forming in various parts those conditions that give improper incentive toward the eliminations from organs where nerve and blood supply have their part in the functioning of same; as is seen in the lower portion of the cerebro-spinal system. The sacral region shows some impacts close to that of the pivot in the last lumbar, which gives to the locomotion, and to the locomotaries direct, that heavy dullness as is experienced in the body, and the inability of the blood supply as flows to the extremities to return, as it were, on proper time. Hence there are times when there is the feeling - rather than the actual experience - of a too fullness in the lower extremities; feet and lower limbs tired; aching of body is experienced through the lower portion of the back and down the limbs. Again we find the same condition existent in another extremity, as it were, of the cerebro-spinal system, especially in that of the 4th and 5th cervical. Here we find the reflexes to the sensory system are impaired. Hence we have a coarseness, or a hoarseness at times, as is produced to the functioning of the incentive for the circulation and secretions as are occurring and incurring in the throat and bronchials. Again we find this produces too much effusion, as it were, or too much of mucus in portions of the throat and bronchials. Hence a filling up, or a drying, as it were, by non-activity along the eustachian Tubes. Hence the far away hearing reaction to the body occurs from same, as does the action of the body when asked a question quickly to respond or to change the trend of thought from that upon which the body may be intent. Not a defect, but a poor reflection, a poor circulation, a poor elimination, produced by crossed segments, or the cervical and lumbar and sacral showing impacts, as it were; through age, through diet, through poor elimination as set at times in this body, [639], we are speaking of.

7. THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANS, under such strain, as we find, find their reflexes - and rather a functional than an organic condition incurs or happens from same.

8. As we see, the sensory system is that as directly affected by this impediment in nerve supply, or nerve incentive. That in the lower portion is rather the circulatory system as is impeded by the condition existent.

9. Then, to meet the needs of these would be to - through that proper manipulation to the whole system, osteopathically given - correct the conditions in the lumbar and sacral, and in the cervical, and especially treating the Eustachian Tubes along their course, breaking up those lesions as are shown along these.

10. These will overcome these conditions and bring about a more perfect equalization in the body, and this tired irregularity to the whole system will be stimulated by adding those vibrations - after such treatments, occasionally; that is, about once each week (though the manipulations should be given twice) - from the infra-red, or from the violet ray, or alternate. These will give new life to the body. We would do that at the present.

13. Do this as has been given for the present time. With these changes as come about in these, it may be necessary to change those conditions for the body; as would be found - as from that given - the diet, which should be regulated according to those suggestions and those changes that are made in the system by the proper adjustments for the body.

R1. 6/9/27 “The rdgs. for Mr. [550] and myself rec’d. The rdg. for me explains my condition as I feel it myself, I think I might say exactly. I am therefore anxious to try the suggestions, but am not going to be able to do so until fall (possibly Oct.), as we have just decided to go back up in Wisconsin where we were last summer, as we are feeling the extreme heat in Fla. very much and also son [4840] has a job of work awaiting him there in a sawmill. The work will be good out door work and the kind he needs for his muscles. There isn’t anything for him to do here this summer, as everything is so quiet.”

R2. 7/18/27 “Two days before we were ready to leave for the north, I had very uncomfortable feelings in my neck and head, so decided I had better see the doctor. So Mr. [550] and I took your rdg. of me and went to him and he studied your rdg. and then gave me a thorough examination and found my condition exactly as stated in your rdg., and it was his decision that I needed immediate attention and should not go north with Mr. [550] and [4840]. They left on June 18th and I will have had five weeks, a treatment every day, and am so much improved that Doctor [Dr. Edwin Ludwig Rasmussen, N.D.] says I will be able to go this Wed. to join Mr. [550], and then on my return I will continue treatments until I have a complete recovery. I thought I would write as wanted you to know the result of your rdg. for me and felt sure you would like to know. I am to be on a very strict diet while away.”

R3. 10/5/27 “I am very much improved generally but I still have to be treated, especially the cervical and Eustachian Tubes, and will begin with Doctor [Dr. Edwin Ludwig Rasmussen, N.D.] as soon as I can get to it, and will report to you the outcome.”

R4. Subsequently she had rdgs. for her husband, Mr. [550].

R5. 12/11/28 She referred Dr. [4457] for a Physical Rdg.

R6. 10/30/29 Reply to Questionnaire: “The suggestions given in my rdg. of 6/2/27 by Mr. Cayce were carried out just as nearly as possible and great benefit derived. The Doctor found my condition exactly as stated in the rdg. I am now in a very good physical condition.

“We had hoped before this time to become personally acquainted with Mr. Cayce, but circumstances yet prevent. We feel interested in your work and hope sometime to visit Virginia Beach.”

B2. 5/16/27 “As to myself, I do not just know of any questions to ask. Would like just a general rdg. I would, of course, like to know what causes aching I have through my body especially at night, first one place and then another, having same for several yrs. Also my eyes ache a great deal. Also quite often I have water blisters, very small, come on my hands under the skin, and then in short time they dry and peel off. I, of course, would like to know the causes and corrective suggestions, but possibly a general rdg. would give suggestions that would improve my general conditions and correct all the above.”

B3. 5/29/27 “For some time my hearing has not been distinct. I do not hear clearly at a distance, or a whisper, and many times in an ordinary conversation, if the speaker speaks low or indistinct. I didn’t think of that when writing you before. The aching in my body, the hearing, and generally just not being very strong, are the things I would like to know about.”
