Date: 7/18/1935 Sex: F ReadingID: 4357

This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of July, 1935, in accordance with request made by the son - Mr. [416], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 10:35 to 10:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.C. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [647]; this we have had before.

  2. As we find, there is the localization of the poisons that have been indicated. While in some respects the changing to and making for the more alkalinity has bettered the condition, the effects in the present are apparently more acute.

  3. These arise from the localizing of the pressure from the ineffective activity through the kidneys and through the poisons arising from the toxic forces combined with same. So, through the lumbar and through the areas of the sciatic reactions we have a contraction in the nerve and muscular forces.

  4. We find that an application might be made locally of a fusion of three parts opiate to one part acid that goes with same, followed with the application of heat, to relax the body without the effects of same in the system. That is:

  5. Paint the lumbar and the sciatic head (that’s across the lower portion of the hip, you see) with a combination of three parts laudanum to one part Aconite.

  6. Then apply over the same area a heavy thickness of a saturated solution of Epsom Salts in packs, as hot as the body can stand same.

  7. Keep these up until the pain is relieved.

  8. We would also make a tea of watermelon seed. Put a tablespoonful of cracked or crushed seed in a pint of water and let steep as tea. Strain and make palatable. This will act upon the kidneys, with sufficient nitre to cause an activity most effective in this particular condition. Take a tablespoonful of the tea twice a day for two or three days; then leave off a day or two days, then take again.

  9. Ready for questions.

  10. We would keep the diet and the necessary applications for the strain on the system.

  11. (Q) What will help the nervousness? (A) Removal of the pressure!

  12. (Q) Will this application in the lumbar relieve the pain in left leg, side and foot? (A) It will relieve the cause, thus relieving the pain.

  13. We are through with this reading.

(7/18/35 GD’s notes: I think you’ll have to get a prescription for the Laudanum-Aconite solution; but perhaps your physician in charge will do this.

See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing Epsom Salts Packs, to be used following the painting with the Laudanum-Aconite solution.)
