This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 44 West 77th St., Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 23rd day of November, 1934, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [607], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [661]; this we have had before.

2. Now, as we find, a great many changes are indicated in the general physical conditions of this body since last we had same here. In the greater part these are for improvements for the body. While the drainages necessary for the eliminations of the poisons that have accumulated in the cyst and in portions of the body have been most helpful, the tendency for the system to adjust itself to these disturbances in some extent still exists in portions of the system.

3. As we find, then, it would be better to continue with the manipulations and the adjustments for the body to keep these in that proper coordinated form and manner as to keep the drainages the more helpful, see?

4. We would take internally in the present the atomic forces of the iodine, in that form called Atomidine, so as to make for the better activity in the glands of the system - especially in the thyroid, for its balancing with the adrenal and the lacteals and the absorptions in the activity through a portion of the liver itself. For these will make for better coordinations, and in keeping this in these manners in the present, as we find, while creating for the time being or at portions of the time an excess of the iodine reaction for the system, will make for a bettered condition in this body. So, we would take one minim (or drop) in half a glass of water twice each day, mornings before the meal and evenings before retiring. Keep this up for periods of five days at the time, then leave off a day; then begin with two minims twice each day for five days. Then we would leave it off for a period of ten days; then begin again with the one minim dosage; that there may be the response in the system and from those activities that are created by these properties in the body.

5. Keep the diet and the general exercise, and - as we find - we will bring for this body of [661] the better and normal conditions.

7. (Q) Should the Milk of Bismuth and Pepsin be continued? (A) These should be in rather the reduced quantities; that is, a quarter teaspoonful of the Bismuth with six minims of the Lactated Pepsin in a glass of water. Then, the second day from same (leaving one day between; for we would alternate same with the Magnesia for the keeping of the more alkalin condition throughout the system), we would take a tablespoonful of the Milk of Magnesia.

8. (Q) What is the cause of the irritation from the cyst? (A) The tendency for the system in those lower ends of the nervous forces there, as indicated, to respond to old conditions - or strains that have been created in the system. So, AS there are the activities from the glands’ influence and the general system, the irritation will gradually subside.

9. (Q) Is an operation necessary? (A) Not necessary, if these drainages are kept as we have indicated.

10. (Q) Are there any further suggestions for the better physical conditions of this body? (A) These we would follow in the present, as indicated; and, as we find, we would bring the normal conditions for this body.

R2. 1/15/35 Mother’s ltr.: “I am on my way to Fla. and had reminded myself that I would like to have a ck. rdg. for [661]. If possible for this coming Sat. at about 1 P.M. If this can be done will you please notify him so he can be at home. We would like to know if he is to continue the osteopathy and the Atomidine and Pepsin and Bismuth. Also how his general condition is up to now.”

R3. 1/24/35 “Just rec’d word from [661] asking for his ck. rdg. for Sat. 1/26th, as it is impossible to say his exact whereabouts during the week, but on Sat. afternoon he is home.”

R4. 3/27/35 GD’s ltr. to Mrs. [607]: “I’m wondering if [661] wants his ck. rdg. while we’re here in N.Y. We never did hear from him in verification of the other appointment, so it probably wasn’t convenient for him to keep it.”
