This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of January, 1935, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. […], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [693]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, conditions in some respects show some improvement; while outwardly there are those reactions indicating the conditions which cause the incoordinations between the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic have become more acute.
-
As we find, this is a reaction; and is produced primarily because there have NOT been the proper relaxations and coordinations of the ganglia in the cerebrospinal system as we have indicated, in the 6th and 7th dorsal area and in the coccyx area. These should be coordinated, as well as those in the axis.
-
And if there is the necessity of using properties to make for the better eliminations, this should preferably be through the enemas.
-
Or if there would be used properties to make for a better coordination in the activities in the lacteal ducts, we would use that compound which we have termed Maypop Bitters [See formula in 543-5], in those proportions and manners as to make for the system’s becoming attuned to those activities from such properties in the system. Give a teaspoonful three times each day, and especially just before retiring for sleep.
-
We would make the corrections in the 6th, 7th and 8th dorsal, and especially in the coccyx area.
-
Of course, keep up the packs; but these coordinations should be made, if we would relieve these distresses.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should all of the former treatments be continued? (A) Rather the former treatments as given should be DONE, and not just partially done! And do these as indicated here; not only the packs across those courses or areas indicated, but make for the eliminations through the system, making for those activities especially in the corrections in the area indicated.
-
(Q) Should the Maypop Bitters be given every day? (A) Every day for periods of six to ten days, and then rest a day or two and then begin again.
-
(Q) Could any advice be given to the mother at this time that would help her to carry on? (A) In meeting those conditions in a material way that surround the body, let those activities in self as relations towards others be in that same manner - through the analyzing of the situations and conditions - as the body would be done by. If this requires that there be those activities necessary to insure self’s own actions in relationships to the conditions surrounding the body, then act; but only as the body would be done by. Do not pray one way and act another! Do not speak unkindly; for art thou viewing from thine own perspective or from thy neighbor’s?

We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/27/35 Mother of [693] obtained personal message in 705-2, Par. 20-A.
R2. 3/3/35 Mother verified appointment for a Life Reading for [693], which she had requested when EC was in Washington, D.C., saying: “I think [693] seems to be getting better. I am taking him to Dr. Flora Taylor (D.C.) three times a week for adjustments again. His rdg. did not say how many times I should take him but I feel I should give him his adjustments as many times as I gave him the treatments of the packs. Questions: Will he be given the power and strength to dress and undress and attend to himself at the toilet? Will he be able to learn and be able to take care of himself? What can be done to overcome the stubborn and antagonistic actions at times? If these other things can be accomplished, what should he be trained to do to get the best out of life for his betterment? If he gets well will he be taken from me as he has been told? Will he be financially taken care of and how? Will the use of his left side entirely return, also his speech? Will the shoulders gradually straighten up? What occupation should he follow in life?… I will have him at home on (date set) after school.”
R3. 3/13/35 See 693-3, a Life Reading, giving karmic causes, etc.
R4. 7/60 In Dr. W. N. Pahnke’s breakdown of 96 cases of epilepsy from the Edgar Cayce records he classified case [693] in group number one, saying: “The description of the case indicated petit mal epilepsy as a probable diagnosis. Attacks were reported as frequently as twenty-thirty minutes apart. There was also some permanent paralysis. Some improvement was reported at first, with attacks only once per week, but then the severe condition recurred.”
