1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, that are latent and manifested in the personalities of the entity now know as or called [706].

2. In entering the present experience we find there are the influences from the astrological sojourns that have been applied in the experience of the entity in the present, yet - as has been given - the urges innate that arise from such sojourns are amenable to the will of the entity. The experiences that arise from the earthly sojourns with the earth as the dwelling place of the entity in the present become more the urges from the emotional portions of the body, and are the greater combative influences - or rather the influences to be combated in the experience of an entity. Yet, as with this entity, we find there are definite conditions that have arisen through the present sojourns in the astrological environs, as to changes that have been eminent in the present experience, as to accidents, as to associations of the entity with individuals’ activities that brought certain characters of associations in the illness in the body of others, the relations where there has been the sudden cut off or extinct or changed environ through the entity’s experience. These, as we find, would appear to become more as karmic influences and, thus, must be used as the warnings or as stepping-stones for the entity in its experiences, to make for sign posts or marks along the way of its own soul development. With the understanding or with the accepting of these various experiences, these have within the innate forces of the soul-body brought developments in the greater portion. For, as has been so oft given, it is what one does ABOUT the knowledge that may be in the experience of a soul entity that counts, and not so much as to how or WHAT the entity may profess or may outwardly manifest, as being aware of. For he that has the knowledge and uses it not, to him it oft becomes a stumbling-stone.

3. As to the activities then from the astrological sojourn, we find these:

Coming under the influence of the Jupiter should have already, in the present month of the present year, begun to bring the innate experience of seeing changes, or visions or hopes for changes in the environ, in the mental and material associations of the entity, that would be for the advancements; for the Jupiterian influence has been in a rather adverse ratio to activities of the entity in the last fourteen months. Yet these should rise now rather to those expressions wherein there will be the advancement in those things that would bring material experiences or mental associations, and with same those developments in an understanding and a greater comprehension of the purposes, aims for which a soul has entered, does enter, into a material manifestation.

5. In the Jupiterian influences do we find the great breadth of vision that has been indicated in the relationships of the entity in the associations of others; the characters of environments, the association of peoples in places of responsibility, places of power - where the associations with the entity have been, not only in the mental attitudes of individuals, the influencing of leaders in an activity, in the mental aptitudes of individuals and also these that control the influences or powers in relation to the material or commercial activities of people. These have been the experience of the entity, and - as we find under those influences that will be arising in the mental influences of the entity in the present - will continue for the next four years; for these will gradually arise, and the greater portion of the ability for the entity to be an active influence in the experience of others will be in those periods of the latter portion of the year thirty-six (‘36), when the turmoils and strifes that have arisen from the material activities from a social order that has been overthrown, or through those influences that must arise in the experience of many in the environ even as the entity itself, will have become again showing and looking for those periods of readjustments in the thoughts of many an individual.

6. The environ of the soul-entity in Uranus has made for the interest the entity has manifested in those things of the mysterious, the occult, rather the forces that deal with the mental experiences of individuals. And these have been, as it is in the influence from the Jupiterian, either very far advanced or very far in the other extreme. For the extremist influences, with the benevolent influences of Jupiter with Uranus, make for advancement in soul experience; while the adverse influences of Jupiter with a Uranian experience make for periods when there have been rather the expression of wonderment as to whether the tenets that have been held by self were wholly in accord with an ideal purpose in the activity of a living, active soul in its relationships with others.

7. The influences also in Venus, we find, make for the experiences where there has been a growth in the experience of the entity in the present; the gentleness, the kindness, the love of friendships, associations and relations that find themselves manifested in a material world in the form of the closer relations in body in the expression of the entity that have meant much - yet brought at times, through the adverse forces and the experiences in the Jupiterian activity, depressing effects; for disappointments have arisen.

8. As to the material activities and sojourns of the entity in the earth, that have made for the SENSITIVENESS of the inner experiences of the entity; the ones that make for the visioning of those experiences in the vision, in the dream, in the abilities for the dividing of tentative influences in the experience, arise from those things we call the emotions within the experience and realm of the body-activity of the entity, [706].

9. Before this we find the entity was during those periods when there were the settlings in this particular land, the nativity of the entity in the present.

10. We find the entity was among those people that were in that particular portion where there was the setting up of what would be called the beginnings of the rebellions against the mother country, or with the beginnings of those people that were for the separations of the lands from the Crown rule. The entity was among those that were brought to the Virginia colonies to become the usage, or for the exchange with the men there, with the products of the land.

11. Then the entity was of those people that were exchanged with one, Thomas Calhoun; in the name Marian Alden, and - in those lands from which the entity came - there is a name of high estate, a name and even moneys that BELONG to the entity in the present; for these are accumulations from a crown. These may be found about Cornwall.

12. In the experience the entity set about, with those ideas of itself as associated with the various activities, in establishing the home; in establishing the independence of the individuals that were active in those experiences, and brought not only the greater material development but the activities that made the basis of much that has become not only legendary but the basic influence upon which this land is founded in its principles. Freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom for the purpose of the worship of the divine forces according to the dictates of the conscience of the individual.

13. Hence in the present we find the entity has at periods experienced the objecting to this or that rule that has been set by individuals, yet these experiences have remained rather as innate - and the entity has gone about to use that influence, that expression of self, in such ways and manners as to make for its force and power within self to be felt in all the relationships that arise as to the political influences. Hence the entity, had it manifested itself in that direction, could have made a good politician in itself, and a good counsellor to those that would deal with such influences having to do with state or with the people in their relationships one to another - from the experience in that sojourn.

14. Before that (among those that influence the entity) we find the entity was in the land now known as the Roman, during those periods when there were the activities and expressions of those in power and in rule for the subduing, or for the opening up of the various routes and activities with the foreign lands.

15. The entity then was very close in associations to those that were set in power, during the period of one Claudius; being then the name Cecila, and in the household of that ruler - in those strengths of the expansion in the necessitating of the activities for the preservation of the entity’s own identity in its relationship to others, and in the restoring of those things pertaining to the influences and activities of others in their closer relationships not only of the state but the formations through associations and connections as related to the spiritual influences in the experience. And the entity, through its associations of the emotions of those influences that were called for the first portions of the activities of those Roman people in their expansion throughout the land, as the various religious intents and activities of the various groups whom this people as a nation encountered, the entity rose in its abilities.

16. Hence the abilities of the entity in being able to make for the writing, and in this association - through the mental activities of such - may bring for the commercial valuations within the entity in the present; and a historian may the entity make of itself through its own writings, as historical descriptions as related to the interest of the religious spirit through such periods or experiences, whether these pertain to the foundations of the Roman’s influence or any of those associations. Hence Latin is an experience in the entity; hence languages are of particular interest to the entity, and those things that make for the variations in the expressions of individuals through the application and the mode in which it presents itself in its communication one with another. Few people have gathered the import of what the variation would make to an individual to speak French or to speak Japanese, or to speak Sanskrit or to speak pidgeon- Spanish - or as would be in those various lands. For these have their vibrations, these have their movements as to the motivating influences. And as the entity itself is, through its astrological as well as material sojourns, moved by emotions, it becomes a positive experience in the entity. And for such things, in giving expression of same to others, may the entity gain a great deal in the present.

17. Before that we find the entity was in that land now known as the Egyptian, when there were the rebuildings of the people that had subdued the land, and after those rebellions from within and from without.

18. The entity was among those that aided in establishing what became the monumental influences in the experience of others; or aided in planning for those various things that were of moment to the representative influences and activities, or what are known as the OMENS or the figures of such activities. And when these are interpreted in the activities or experiences of the day, we find these mean for the entity the impelling influences from the mental and spiritual; and the entity would do well to study even the Book of the Dead, as it was called in the present - yet in that experience it was rather the Book of Life; or it represents that which is the experience of a soul in its sojourn not only in the land of Nirvana (?), the land of Nod, or the land of night, but rather those things that make for the cleansing of a physical body for the aptitudes of expression through the senses or the emotions in the physical forces to the spiritual truths.

19. As to the abilities of the entity, then, and that to which it may attain, and how:

20. Much has been gained through the experiences in the earth thus far, in the application of those tenets in those directions as we have indicated.

21. Then, the entity is one who may instruct, who may guide not only the individual but the groups, the masses; and the entity may succeed in recording and advising with those that make such records; working with groups or individuals who have to do with the keeping of such records, thus making for the greater advancement. However, the entity may find the most in self by and through making first the analysis of self and that which is the impelling influence in its own experience. Is it of the creative forces without the desires for self-exaltation? Walk ye rather in those influences that move for spiritual and soul development. And the ways may open through the next two years for thine activity in aiding many to find themselves, through those periods of turmoil that are coming. Know that He has given, “As ye mete, so shall it be measured to thee.” For if thou love the Lord, His days to thee shall be as dwelling in the house of the Lord, and one day in the house of the Lord - yea, in the courts even thereof - is greater than a thousand in the tents or halls of fame of the wicked. Those who seek for self- aggrandizement do so to their own destruction. There be no power in heaven, hell or in earth that may separate the soul from its Creative Forces save itself. Let others do as they may, but as for thee and thy house - serve ye a living God!

23. (Q) To what shall I turn my attention as my family duties begin to wane? (A) In the gathering of data, or in aiding that pertaining to the history as to the effect of religious or speech influence in the lives of individuals and a people. And this, as has been pointed out, will make for aiding to many. Any of those things that deal with State. Any of those things that deal with peoples as groups. In these may the entity make for a MATERIAL and a MENTAL success.

24. (Q) What will come of the Lewis offer about my poetry? (A) This, as we find, is favorable - as we find; and good.

25. (Q) Have I done wisely to step out of Dick’s way in astrology? (A) Wise.

26. (Q) Upon what fault must I work most persistently? (A) That of self-exaltation. Let self be spended rather in the glories of that which comes from making thy will one with the divine influence in self.

27. (Q) Will the study of science or occultism serve my development best? (A) Study of science as in relation to subjects or purposes, whether they turn to the occult forces or otherwise; for, as will be seen with the study of that pertaining to the impelling influence in the State and nations throughout, occult forces have their part - but AS a Science that is SMEARED over by those who would be near great.

Keep the ways thou hast chosen, in being the helpmeet to thy fellow man. Keep the way open always to the service that may be found from within the inner self, and in thine communion with the higher influences that are set about each individual soul. For He has given His angels charge concerning those that seek to know His way, and thou may be borne up in thine meditation, even as they that walked in the mount.

R1. 10/31/34 EC’s letter to [706]: ”…I will be quite anxious to know the reaction that you have from the reading and considering of the information that was given you in your life reading. I know that you have studied along these lines to a great extent; possibly may be able to be of just as much help, and more so in many cases, to others than we may be. It isn’t that the manner of the information that comes through these channels is so unusual, but our experience has been that individuals who have been able to get something that was worth while and practical have been those who have approached the work in sincerity and made practical application of it in their daily lives. This seems to me to be the thing that is worth while and very wonderful.

“We cannot know the reactions nor the helpfulness we have been, unless we hear from the individuals, and we are hoping that you will let us hear, and know, too, that if we can be of any help through our experience in assisting you in getting a better interpretation of that you have, we will only be too glad to do so.

“For instance, we find there is evidently quite a group that come, we might say, as a cycle, and that are to be helpful or dependent upon one another through certain developments. If there are periods that are of special interest in that given, we may be able to be helpful in that direction…”

R2. 11/16/34 Letter from [706]: ”…Thank you for your further interest in my reading, as shown by your letter.

“As to your questions - I WAS much helped by your reading, especially where it dealt with my faults. You know, we all want to overcome our negative qualities and make some effort to do so; but our efforts grow slothful, and a good rousing reminder sets us on the road again toward attainment. I am very thankful to you for this.

“Also, your naming of ‘self-exaltation’ as my greatest fault, accords with my horoscope in which I have

“I have gone over [681]‘s map with her, and also find that her reading and astrologic indications tally well.

“My only criticism of the readings is the obscure language in which they are couched. I realize the difficulty of translating the activities of one plane into the language of another plane. We found the same trouble in our Temple Sleep work, where we often contacted things which had no exact counterpart in our normal life. But Lady Mary Golein who was our instructor kept constantly urging us ‘Ask deeper. Get the vision clearer. Demand more light.’ We were able to improve a lot in clarifying our messages.

“I know you can do the same. I think it is only that you have not turned your attention toward this phase.

“In my astrology work, I find the same effort is necessary:

• to translate what I see in the chart into everyday words and yet not lose the subtle meaning.

“I have heard several others having your readings say the same thing about the obscurity and some have just given up trying to get anything out of them.

“This is not in way of criticism, but in way of help. It is one of the same problems I am working on.

“The little study group in Washington is an earnest and intelligent one. They seem very united and harmonious.

I am showing it to many people to pass on the good news of your valuable work. The people I am thrown with are all old and tried students and they know a good thing when they see it.

R3. 12/22/34 EC’s letter to [706]: ”…You have no doubt heard from some of the group about our prolonged stay in New York; then, we have had the necessity of getting our accumulated correspondence and appointments taken care of since our return on December 13th.

“I was certainly very glad, though, to have your letter of the 16th of November and the comments that you make on your reading are very much worth while.

“It has been the consensus of opinion of practically every one of the astrologists that we have met from time to time (and I think we can number among our friends some of the very best in this country and abroad), that the information has followed quite closely with the recognized or the standard charts by most of the students of this science. This seems quite remarkable when we realize that the information’s approach to such influence in the experience of an individual is entirely different from that of astrology. This may account for, to a great extent, the obscure language in which a great deal of the information is cast. Too, it is as you say, quite an undertaking to interpret the records from one plane to another.

“We had the opportunity while in New York to meet quite a number of very remarkable astrologers, and one in particular who is no doubt doing a very wonderful work and who has a very large clientele. I was really amazed at her report on her reading.

“I feel very sure, Miss [681] is doing a very wonderful work, and is certainly the one to carry on the work there. I am looking forward with a great deal of pleasure to meeting you again, as I think it is the intention of the group for us to be there again some time in January.

“Hoping, then, to see you at that time, wishing you the season’s greeting, and trusting you will let us hear from you whenever you find the opportunity…”

R4. 7/29/47 HLC’s letter to [706]: ”…Someone recently was thoughtful enough to send me a card announcing a lecture of yours on July 27th on ‘Blood Sacrifice’. I am wondering if you have a copy of this available as I would like very much to see it. The subject interests me because of some information given me regarding the same in some of my father’s readings.

“I believe we were in touch with you some years ago in Washington and I am happy to know that you are continuing to be active in forward-looking movements there. Several of our members have commented most favorably on your activities…”

R5. 8/47 Letter from [706]: ”…No, I do not have a copy of my lecture on Blood Sacrifice, for I never write my things down. I have a sort of dislike of making things static. I feel that a static thing ceases to live; it is dead. Creation should keep things flowing. If I gave the same lecture tomorrow I would create it anew. Only the same outline or skeleton (for the sake of order) should remain the same.

“Yes, I was in Mr. Cayce’s group years ago when [681] led it, and I remember with much affection the sweet nature of your nature of your father.

“In your reading given my my father there is a specific reference in the section on the Egyptian incarnation which ties in very closely with this subject. Through the years we have been able to correlate much of the information on the Egyptian period mentioned and it throws light on many of the later interpretations of these ancient truths.

“I hope that you will give me the opportunity of talking with you when I am in Washington and that the first opportunity you have to visit Virginia Beach you will stop in and see us here at the headquarters and see just what is being done with the records…”
