-
EC: We have had the body here before.
-
As we find, while conditions are improved from that as we have had at times, there are still the warnings that should be adhered to as we have indicated for the body; and especially as to the character of the diet and the necessity of there being kept the proper balance in the system.
-
Because an excess of acidity by over-exposure, overactivity, or from congestion, produces - as has been indicated and is indicated by the weakness in the body - a disturbing condition, DO NOT get the idea that tubercle has begun to be active. It has NOT! There is a weakness to be sure - there are the inclinations; but the Mind is the Builder, and if there are those properties taken that have been outlined we may meet these conditions. Take those things outlined for the colds, for the pains - these in their regular relationships one to another. If there is the feeling of cold or congestion, or the shaky feeling, take one grain of the Calcidin. This may be taken to or three times a day, but when taken take sufficient - that is, take it at least an hour, two to three hours apart - take sufficient to get the iodine reaction from same. This will not only relieve the distress or pain but will allow for a better oxidization of the blood supply through the lungs.
-
Make the deep inhalations of the brandy as a cleansing of the throat, the bronchi, the lungs - this from the keg as has been indicated. This of a morning and evening, a couple of times, should be sufficient.
-
Then for the diet: Be mindful that either the liver extract (such as Valentine’s) or Beef Juices are a part of the diet each day. Beware of too much of starches that tend to clog the system, and to increase the acidities of the system.
-
The rubs that have been indicated with an equal combination of Mutton Suet, Turpentine and Camphor will be beneficial; more so, of course, if heat is applied - preferably salt heat, though the electric pad may be used if more convenient. The salt heat is much better.
-
Keep the feet dry. Do not overtax the system. And doing these, we will find improvements for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Why is it that stopping or lifting the slightest weight completely exhausts me? (A) The straining of the body, or upon the pressures from which the soreness radiates - which is from about the 2nd or 3rd dorsal center.
-
(Q) Why the difficulty is arising when I’m lying down? (A) From the same reason. Use the hot packs and the Calcidin, and this should be clarified - if the nasal passages, the throat are kept cleansed by the use of the inhalent.
-
(Q) Since my work is so hard, would it be better to try for something else? (A) Do not give up the present until there is an assurity of something else. If you look upon the work as being hard, it will grow harder! If you look upon self as being equipped for this, then DO IT!
-
(Q) What can I do to find mental peace? (A) Only by the looking within, trusting in the Creative Forces.
Meditate often, SINCERELY! Do not speak one way to thy Lord and another to thy brother!
- We are through for the present.

R1. 11/11/37 “Really believe I am improving a little. Am following the suggestions in the reading exactly.”
R2. 2/24/39 Friday night, [715]‘s letter:
Dear Cousin Edgar:
I have thought of you so often, and intended to write - but writing is such a tedious task for me most of the time. I just take it out in thinking.
I want to thank you and Gertrude for the beautiful spray of tulips you sent to sweet [1181] - and for all the nice sweet things you said of her - and did for her. She was a living saint if there ever was one, indeed. I have lost my best friend - the only one who overlooked and forgave all my faults. I feel that there is no one who truly cares for me - now - for as you know or don’t know there has been an estrangement toward me for many, many years. No, not my mother, my sweet mother, but something I have tried to forget and forgive for these twenty-five years - it is never spoken of - perhaps others have forgotten, but I can’t. She understood, bless her heart - I am hurt more than anyone will ever know - but it’s alright. It would be selfish to want her here and suffering.
Am getting along very well, weigh 107 lbs., and should weigh 146. Keep going because I’m not ready to give up and die.
Suppose you know of Aunt […]‘s trouble. […] tells me tho’ she is getting along very nicely - which is remarkable for one of her age.
Hope you are well and happy. Thanks a million times for all you’ve done for me. I love you - Write to me sometime.
[715]
R3. 2/28/39 EC’s letter:
Dear [715]:-
Thanks for yours of the 24th. Am mighty glad you wrote me, know how alone you feel, and from personal experience realize that you have lost the most understanding friend you ever will have. But while she is not present in the body, she [1181] lives on in the grace and mercy of her Lord and Savior, and you too may while - here may have that grace just as you are aware that she had through out her life. It has never been my pleasure to know a more saintly soul, than your Mother - remember very well the day she was married. So knew her many years even before you knew her. Have been a close observer of human nature all of my life, have known many many of the hardships, many of the ups and downs of her life, and while in last few years have not been where I was in her presence so often have tried to keep in touch with her - and did what little I might in one way or another to show the appreciation I felt for her. For to do something for one of her loved ones as if it was for her. You will need, [715], to pattern your life much after hers - learn as she did - you must forgive - if you would be forgiven - that is a Divine law. I and your Mother learned it the hard way just as no doubt you feel that you have, but in the learning it will make you sweet and gracious just as she was and IS.
Yes, I know many of your disappointments, possibly many more than you imagine, but there are no disappointments in HIM, [715] - and as for folks, people, they are all just struggling Souls, seeking, seeking - many, yea most of them know not what, for they all find things of this world do not satisfy, do not stop that hurt, do not answer for the loneliness one feels so often, it is just living the fruit of the Spirit that will give us that answer “My yoke is easy my burden is light” and you should know by now - they love you best whom you serve the most, for His words are always LIFE. “He that would be the greatest among you is servant of all” applies to each of us today - and when that love, that service is given with no thought of self, but that He may be glorified in our lives, then there comes that Peace of Soul that you have seen so well exemplified in the life of your sweet Mother. For disappointments were many in her life - being misunderstood was oft in her wake of experience. Finding estrangement from those nearest and dearest to her was not far from her. Yet, with it all a lovely life, one very much worthwhile through out - and it is up to you and I that she in her Lord is not further disappointed in us. God bless you and keep you just as sweet as you really are. Put away prejudice, hate and all that would make you afraid, ever, and the sunshine of happiness will be yours, for when you turn your face to the light in HIM all shadows fall far behind, and we do not feel or know them.
Haven’t meant to sound preachy, [715] - and know you are aware there is little of that in me, but want you to know what I do understand - and that you have a friend that is always at hand - know oh all too well there is none can ever take her place, but do wish you to know you have some one to turn to, and some one that will not fail you ever.
Glad you are feeling pretty good, keep the good work up and you may be the big fat lady yet.
Yes, the girls wrote me about Aunt […], have known of the trouble for many years, just hope she comes along alright, is a hard row to hoe, and one gets mighty lonely - unless He guides.
Don’t let too long a time elapse before you write me - know am always glad and anxious to hear - and plan to spend a while with us when you have chance - love and may His blessings keep you.
Your cousin, Edgar Cayce
R4. 3/3/39 [715]‘s letter:
Dear Cousin Edgar:
You don’t know how much I appreciate your dear sweet letter which was received yesterday. Shall always treasure it, for it means a great deal to me.
Now, I know you will think I am very inconsistent in telling you in one letter that I am getting along very well and then in the next come along with this. It’s like this - have been losing weight for quite a while and [1089] is urging me to do something about it - before it is too late. I had no intention of making this request when I wrote to you last but [1089] has been talking seriously to me about it and has made me promise to do something. I worry too, at times, about myself but other things which seem at the time more important, crowd the anxiety about my physical self out. Have been going to a doctor for some time but have not improved any. It’s this way - seem to be getting along very well for me and then all of a sudden feel I have to do something at once. And then is when I go to a Doctor and get no results.
