Date: 1/10/1935 Sex: M Age: 34 ReadingID: 4545
This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of January, 1935, in accordance with request made by the father, Mr. […], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Ellsworth Garrison, Myrtle Demaio, Helen Ellington, Ruth LeNoir, Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [716]; and this we have had before.
-
Now, as we find, there are not the indications outwardly of an improvement in any PERCEPTIBLE manner. Yet, with the application of those things indicated (that is, with the rubs, with the appliance, with the activities physically and mentally), there IS being brought about that which has been HELPFUL.
-
And if the body loses patience with self, then that which has been indicated for the body is not to be the proper direction taken!
-
But there should be the persistence; for the conditions have been - as has been given - not only of long duration but there have been the attempts on the part of the body physically and mentally to ADJUST itself to the deficiencies that have existed!
-
Give the TIME! Be PATIENT! You’ve had years and YEARS of the disturbance. Don’t expect it to be cured in a moment and be of a permanent nature. For the body, the life, the whole of every entity IS a GROWTH; and unless it is of such a growth that it is stable, it isn’t worth very much!
-
Be patient. Be consistent. Be persistent. And follow those suggestions that HAVE been made. And we will find help.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/10/35 Immediately following reading [716-3], EC gave 720-2 for [716]‘s mother at the same address.
R2. 1/12/35 EC’s letter to [716]‘s father: ”…Tell [716] that I would like to keep a check up on his condition every three or four weeks, for I am most anxious that he gets the benefit of the help that I believe can come with the application of those things suggested. I realize that it may require time and patience in [716]‘s case, but it has been of long standing and that necessary most is the right way of thinking and acting about everything…”
R3. 1/18/35 Father’s letter to EC: “[716] is anxious to know how he should continue with his treatments. Do you want him to continue with double doses or do you want him to start with single doses again? At present he is taking the single doses. Is it necessary for [716] to get massage treatments every day? The past couple of weeks [716] has been getting pains in both feet and also in his left thumb and it has been bothering him a lot. The pains may be from the weather but at least we thought you should know of his condition.”
R4. 1/22/35 EC’s reply: “I am just in receipt of yours of the 18th. As I understood from the information for [716], I would continue with the doses as indicated in the reading [716-2]. Begin first with the one minim of the Gold and one minim of the Atomidine solution. Keep this up, alternating days, for ten days. Then he would have a rest period for three days. Then when he begins again he takes two minims of each of these and takes these for ten days - not just ten days in all - which would really be twenty days; then he would rest again three days. Then when he begins again he takes one minim of each solution, or as directed in his reading of November 7th.
“To be sure, the rubs would be taken as given in the same reading.
“I am sure it must be that the pains that [716] has been getting is the stimulated circulation that has been hindered by not keeping his treatment so that he has the eliminations in the proper way and manner. I feel very sure, from the last suggestions, that if he will be persistent about this - don’t think that he is going to take it for just two or three rounds of the treatments and then be well - it is going to come back just gradually, and it may require six months or a year before he would see a very definite change. Of course, I am sure he is affected by the weather, because naturally, he is very sensitive to everything.”
R5. 11/12/36 EC wrote to [716] direct inquiring about his condition, but there was no reply.
