This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 28th day of February, 1924, in accordance with request made by his wife…, through Mr. [195].

1. EC: Now, we find with this physical body, there are conditions that would be and are interesting from the physical standpoint as a study in psychological, pathological and biological conditions, for all are exhibited within this physical force, and show how each manifests in the physical at the present time, and how from the psychological influences of other forces are manifest in and through this physical body here, [73], we are speaking of.

2. Now, these are conditions as we find in the body, considered then from these standpoints.

3. First, physical:

4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find this below normal, yet not to such an extent to cause the distress as would be apparent in the physical forces of the body. The distribution of blood force and the quality of blood supply is very good for conditions as they exist.

5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this, we find that becoming under the conditions of both pathological forces and psychological forces, for in the nerve supply to portions in the system do we find those conditions that produce the disturbances in the sensory system, and in the supplying of that activity of nerves governing the reflexes of the body, especially in those of the upper dorsal and cervical region, and in that of the auditory and vocal forces in the body. The secondary nerve centers of the vocal from the lung to the auditory and vocal nerves remain inactive in whole. Hence there is in the vocal box that condition preventing the vibration to the system sufficient to produce the voice or sound as is exhaled toward the vocal box. In the nerves of the cerebro-spinal their reaction from this comes to the second and third dorsal plexus, and to the fifth cervical center. In these we receive that of the pathological condition, and producing a psychological effect upon the center to the brain producing the condition. These are of the physical, yet a psychological condition exists in the actions of the body.

6. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, we find the brain forces very good.

7. The organs of the sensory system all become attuned to the higher vibration under the strain as is produced upon the center regulating or guiding that of the return action to portions of the sensory organism to function. Hence the senses become accentuated in many instances.

8. In lungs very good, though strained. Not organic condition however. Secondary cardiac plexus with the cardiac forces, or heart action, normal for conditions.

9. Digestive tract very good, though at times some distress is given to the pneumogastric center, and we have gases formed in the lower portion of the intestinal tract.

10. Liver, hepatic circulation, very good.

11. The rest of the system we find functioning fairly normal. Disturbances in the exterior portion of the body through circulation from nerve reaction, this being rather local than of the condition as is produced in the system.

12. RELIEF, to give this body the relief as is necessary must be reached both through physical and psychological conditions. Correct physically those conditions existing in the fifth cervical, first, second and third dorsal by deep manipulation, and by submerging the normal force to action of the suggestive forces through the action of the nerves governing the power of speech or vocal cords. In that of mesmeric forces rather than others, and build the whole general system to more resistance, taking into the system one eightieth grain of strychnine once every second day.

13. Do that. We will bring the body to its normal action.

R1. 2/21/40 Mr. [195]‘s report: “I hasten to reply to yours of the 15th concerning 73-1. I recall the physical conditions, etc., and will outline the events leading up to the reading. Mr. [73] about 20 years ago was suddenly stricken with a thrombosis in his leg and was operated upon immediately, the leg being amputated. However, the blood clot in some way either passed the leg or else reformed and got to the brain, causing a stroke from which he was not expected to last 24 hours. At that time he was about 55 years of age and recovered sufficiently to be driven around but never regained his speech. I took upon myself the responsibility of securing a reading and sent it to his wife with the suggestion that if the routine was followed out Mr. [73] would no doubt receive much physical benefit. This was not done, and he was continuously under the care of a physician, and to the surprise of all he is still alive though an invalid.”
