This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Hirn home on 6844 Nansen St, Forest Hills, L.I., N.Y., this 18th day of November, 1934, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. George Hirn, Sr., and Mr. R. N. Ladd.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [738].

2. Now, as we find, there are abnormal conditions. These have to do with the structural portions of the body, with the locomotions and with the activities that pertain to same. As we find, these have begun to show improvements from what have been the existent conditions; and there is hope to those that minister; there are resuscitating forces being brought.

3. These present applications we would not hinder in any measure; neither would we falter from keeping that which has been begun.

4. Yet, as we find, these may be materially aided with those applications that would assist those formations in the structural body, in the gland secretion, that will enable those portions of the body in their development to bring about the more perfect coordination AS these developments progress.

5. We find, then, these conditions for this body of [738]:

6. The BLOOD SUPPLIES are maintaining a normal circulation under the existent conditions, and the superficial and the internal is aided; yet, as we find, the stamina is lacking in the muscular forces, in the tendons, in the structural body itself. Why?

7. In those periods when there were those activities within the system of the destructive forces, the incoordination was begun or brought about by those activities because of the lack of the proper elements. For, the body is made up of the elements in which the physical body moves. Then, these must be kept in a normal coordinative force for the proper activity of each organ, each gland, each system to produce or reproduce within itself that which will bring about the keeping of a normal balance within same. And when such is done, if there is kept the mental attitude of a body in its proper channel, there is kept NORMALCY in a physical and in a mental body.

8. Then, in adding that to this body which we find would be of the greater aid, combined with the applications already being made:

We would add the life vibration to the body itself in the form of the lowest electrical vibration, that may carry to the whole system an equalized circulation; aiding or adding to the activities of the glands in their functioning for the body as to produce that necessary stimuli to bring about a nearer NORMAL condition for this body, [738] we are speaking of, present in this room.

10. So, we would add the Radio-Active Appliance that will make for such vibrations to the system as to aid that being administered to the body for the corrections.

11. Also we would advise the use of a compound for massaging, to give the stamina especially to the lumbar, the lower dorsal and the whole of the lower limbs - prepared in this manner:

12. Equal parts of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh, with a third the quantity of Oil of Cedar Wood; heating the oil to add the other ingredients - that is, heating the Olive Oil before adding the other two.

13. This would be massaged in the lower portion of the cerebro- spinal system, over the lumbar area and the limbs, specifically.

14. Keep those other vibrations, those adjustments, those massages that are being given.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) How often should the Battery Appliance be given, and where should the applications be made? (A) To the extremities of the body, opposite sides. Attach one day first to the right wrist, then to the left ankle. Attach the next day first to the left wrist, then to the right ankle. This would be attached for a period of thirty minutes to an hour each day.

17. (Q) Should this be a plain appliance, or carry some solution? (A) Plain appliance; the low electrical vibration, to aid the other applications.

When these treatments have been carried for thirty to sixty days, then we may change; for there are constant changes taking place.

Keep the prayerful attitude. For each soul should know: All power, all creative force, comes from the One Source. How will YE use same? In the aggrandizement of thine own motives, thine own bodily desires, or in bringing hope, faith, understanding, to those that seek?

18. (Q) Will it be necessary to put braces on the limbs, or advisable? (A) NOT advisable. Of course, AS conditions progress it will be helpful to the walking. But in sixty days we would give further instructions; for, as we have indicated, conditions will be mightily changed in this body - even in sixty days. If braces are then advisable - or as the conditions are necessary they may be given through these channels.

19. We are through for the present.

The Oils for the massaging might be obtained from most any drug store, and compounded at home in the manner given.

After following these for sixty days, let us know so that we may make an appointment for a check reading.

R1. 12/16/34 Ltr. from R. N. Ladd, Official Representive in New York:

File [738]: “We called at the home of the […]‘s in Aqueduct this afternoon and found that they have been going through a great strain, which is now somewhat relieved. Little [738] was taken to the hospital about ten days ago for the usual monthly examination and was left on the table in a cold room with windows open and nothing on but a thin cotton robe supplied by the nurse and he caught bronchial pneumonia and they came near losing him. He is out of danger now, but we thought a check reading would be very helpful and the parents said today that they would appreciate it very much if you would give it.

“They are following the treatments. Started again with them today and the battery. They were only using the battery four days when [738] was taken sick and they were forced to stop it…”

… Rd., Aqueduct, L.I., N.Y. Mr. Cayce,

Dear Friend:-

I would have written to you before in answers to your letter of January 1, but as I understand you have been advised of our son [738]‘s recent illness. For that reason we were unable to carry out the treatments. Therefore we could tell very little if there had been any improvements. But ever since he recovered from the bronchial pneumonia the treatments have been given regularly. As far as we understand there has been considerable improvement in his limbs and body.

We are rather anxious to find out what to do as it seems he wants to slide off his chair and stand on his feet. This may be dangerous without any braces or support as he seems to be rather weak in his knees. At the same time it is very hard to refuse him to make use of his limbs as he has the ambition to use them. Although, right now it seems as though he is again developing a cold. He has a slight fever and cough. We are rather worried for fear there will be a renewal of his last illness but hope that won’t happen. Outside of that we are all fairly well.

Am having quite some difficulty with the connections - that is plates - on the end of wires on the battery. They have a tendency to break off the wires quite often and have to be re-soldered. Also, to tie them on to get a good contact seems to be very difficult. The plate is so thin that when tied on barely touch the skin. I have been thinking that probably a little adjustment could be made. But, I do not know what effect or harm this would do the battery. Probably you would enlighten me on this subject.
