This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of September, 1942, in accordance with request made by the parents, Mr. [257] and Mrs. [903], Active Members of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - we have the body here, [759]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, conditions in the present indicate those periods of adjustment in the glandular forces of the body.

4. Hence, with any form of congestion as may arise, - from cold, from overanxiety, from excitement, from the developing forces in the glandular system, - there is brought about overactivity in the glands.

5. This is indicated in the present by a swelling in the throat or neck, and on the sides of the throat - being a part of the reaction of the sympathetic and the deeper nervous system.

6. These conditions, as we find, should respond to the taking of small doses of Atomidine. Take one drop in half a glass of water each morning before breakfast for five to six days. Then leave off an equal period. Then repeat. Then occasionally, - that is, about every three weeks for a few months, - give the Atomidine again a few days, see?

7. And for local application, in the present, put iodized salt on gauze and dampen with turpentine so that it will adhere to the gauze. Then apply to the body, not too tight, with sufficient covering to hold same in place. Change this twice in twelve hours, three times in twenty-four. The swelling SHOULD be reduced by that time.

8. As for regular activity, - we would have a GENERAL osteopathic adjustment to the glands in throat, and especially those areas above the kidneys - or the adrenals.

9. With the other applications, there should not be required more than one or two of such adjustments. These should bring about normalcy in the reactions.

10. Be mindful as to cold, and especially through the winter we would add to the body the combination of all the vitamins - as prepared by Vick’s. We would take two of these capsules every other day, for this body; this especially through December and January and February. But unless there are cold or wet spells, so as to keep the body from sunshine and out of door activity, these should not be needed at other times. Hence begin these when the weather causes the activities to be more closely confined to inside, see?

11. These should keep conditions better for this body.

13. (Q) Any suggestions regarding his school work? (A) This is very good, and he will carry on.

R1. 10/9/42 Phone request by father: “He has what looks like pneumonia - doctor thinks he is in very bad condition; giving him the sulfa drug for the next 24 hours.”

2. What has been the effect of the sulphur drug?

4. Is his growth developing in a normal manner?
5. What should he do now to increase his height?
