Time of Reading 3:50 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here. While there are a great many changes in the physical forces of this body since last we had same here, there were some indiscretions - as we find - along with the corrections that were given or made for this body during those periods of building up of the blood and nerve supply and the general health for this body, [781]. For, as we find, where there is the tendency for the protrusion of the folds of the intestines - or the folds of the abdominal area, or the hernia - this is rather severe. It causes a great deal of pain and irritation to the whole of the nervous system, causing much of that which is often termed or called by others in their activity as lack of diligence, or producing a dilatory reaction, or laziness - as sometimes called, or tendency for the lack of the proper mental reactions; or there is the ineffectiveness of concentration, or inability of effectual concentration. These are natural mental reactions.
-
Now, as we find, these may be materially aided by the balancing of the body as to the PELVIS axis, and as to coordinating the cerebrospinal axis with same; as well as in the brachial center. This correction we would have made by such an one as Grapes; through the coccyx area, as well as massaging the abdominal area with an equal combination of mutton suet, spirits of camphor and oil of wintergreen. Preferably melt the suet before adding the others in their own proportion, or a tablespoonful of each. Make such a correction each day, followed by the massage, for at least twenty-six treatments.
-
And after each treatment BIND the area; not so much with a brace, but rather a BAND - that will materially aid.
-
Be mindful that the eliminations are normal. Quite often we would use high enemas.
-
Also, of course, during the whole period there would be followed an ALKALIN diet. Keep away from meats. Have one meal every day consisting wholly of raw green vegetables for this body.
-
And the condition should be improved!
-
Should it continue as in the present it would be necessary, of course, for the operative forces to draw these together where the separations have occurred in the folds of the abdominal area.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Can you give a permanent cure for the chronic constipation? (A) Yes, the diet! With the eliminations through the use of the high enemas. Well that these be used, too, with the antiseptics to prevent irritation.
-
(Q) What about the mental condition of this body? (A) It’s very good, if we will take these strains off the AXIS of the nervous system!
These treatments would, of course, be in the specific area of the coccyx; about the nerves and muscles of the locomotories, with the pressures - of course - coordinated in the 4th lumbar, 12th dorsal, 4th dorsal, 2nd and 3rd cervical.
- We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/15/35 Letter from [779] to EC: ”…We knew [781] must have been getting in a pretty bad shape just from the way he acted, and he could not learn anything in school and he worked on his lessons every night to 11 and 12 o’clock, and so very cross. Dr. Grapes has already started on him. She gave him a good examination before reading his reading and the examination said that she found it exact as given in reading. She told me it would have been but a very short while before [781] would have had a nervous breakdown and no wonder he could not do anything in school. So we thought best to take him out for rest of term and get him straight and a rest up till next school year…”
R2. 2/5/35 Letter from [779] to EC: ”…I don’t know just what to say about [781]. He has a very very funny case it seems. Miss Grapes says his case has become very interesting, some parts of his conditions she says she is unable to understand and unable to get any results. And she thinks the proper results won’t come about until we are able to correct the constipation and get the proper eliminations through the alimentary canal. She has also treated him for constipation, also has prescribed a laxative in addition to the high enemas and are unable to get his [781] bowels to move anything as they should. She says she would like for us to get a check reading on him and see just how he is working out and if the treatments are being done right. She says she don’t think the 26 treatments by her is going to get his nervous condition in order. She also wants to know if we are using the right kind of bandage for the hernia and if there is any special kind should be used. I would like to get this hernia well if possible without an operation. As soon as he finish up treatment we are going to send him out in the country as we have noticed that he feels better and never is trouble with constipation while out there. I would like to have an expression from you as to what you think and if you think we should have a check reading. Miss Grapes will have given the 26 treatments Thursday this week…”
R3. 3/2/35 Letter from [779] to EC: ”…The date as set for check reading for [781] is OK. Tuesday morning March 5th, 9:30 to 10:30 …Time. He will be at home … St. Would have wrote yesterday but wanted to see Dr. Grapes for any questions and to inquire as to … condition. I am enclosing her questions [in folder of [781]] on separate sheet. She advises that … is greatly improved since I wrote you last, and we too notice a big change for the better. He’s looking better. His bowels better. Nervous system better. Now if we can get the hernia corrected OK without operation all will be well. I am sure. We have had trouble in keeping the bandage in proper place. As you will note question for detail in using same and in getting a correct fit…”

B2. 11/18/34 father [779]‘s ltr.: “[781] seems to dread school so very bad and is not making any progress whatever for the last two years. It looks as if we have to take him out. I don’t know if it is his physical condition or not. He is ruptured and that may have something to do with it. He studies very hard, but gets nowhere. He’s not say dull, because he can read anything he likes and can talk well on it. We thought of having a reading for him to see just why the cause…”
