Date: 1/7/1935 Sex: F Age: 24 ReadingID: 4818
This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of January, 1935, in accordance with request made by Miss [480], on Active Membership of her mother, Mrs. [601], in the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis, L. B. and Hugh Lynn Cayce.]
Time of Reading 3:25 to 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Michigan. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [783].
-
Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body. These, as we find, are the affectations through the nerve forces in such manners as to hinder the locomotions.
-
Where there has been the separation of the nature as indicated here, only a complete alteration of the walls that naturally build in the ends of the nerves would make for any material aid. And the present conditions, we find, are only - as may be said - palliatives, or those things to keep rather the mental attitudes of such a nature.
-
While it would require PERSISTENT application (and, of course, it can be overdone!), there may be added that in the system in such a manner as to aid in rectifying the ends, so as to take away the natural wall built up in the nerve ends - and be the more helpful. This would require almost seven years for a change.
-
As we find, this may only be done through such low electrical forces as found in the wet cell appliance (that we have indicated through these sources as being a helpful influence) and carrying Gold.
-
The small copper plate would be attached first, over the area where there has been the injury. The larger nickel plate, passing through the Gold solution, would be attached over the lacteal and umbilicii duct area - to the right side of the body, to be sure, where the assimilations from the pancreas, the spleen, the liver secretions or gall duct empty in or make for their activity with that taken, or that enters the blood as new blood. This will allow sufficient amount of the elements through the system, and through this area particularly, as to gradually build. Apply this for at least twenty to thirty minutes each day; and it will necessitate being CONSISTENTLY done.
-
Naturally, the general massage given two or three times each week will be helpful and restful to the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) If the treatments are followed as suggested, what percentage of recovery may be expected in seven years? (A) Seventy-five to eighty percent. (In undertone - “24 - 31 - ”) And by the time the body is thirty-four or thirty five, it may be able to walk!
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/25/35 Mrs. [601]‘s letter: “[783]‘s mother rec’d the reading this a.m. and said she will write to The Reilly Service about the battery recommended. I made it very clear that should they decide to try the suggestions made in the rdg. she must send you something on acct. I believe the rdg. was optimistic to a degree and well worth carrying out.”
Background
Background
B1. 12/16/34 Miss [480]‘s letter: “About 8-9 years ago, a young girl with whom I went to school was shot, the bullet severed nerves controlling her legs and their movements. I have known about this and seen her intermittently these past few years, but never mentioned you. This past Thanksgiving I did go to see her and told her of the wonderful work you are doing. Since that time I met her brother who is a student of dentistry - he told me that his sister did not know that the nerves are severed and that was why she has kept trying everything that came within the family’s ken. The brother, after speaking to some of the finest neurologists, is quite firmly convinced that nothing can be done for her. They have been impoverished (this is difficult for me!) by her illness but should you consent to a reading and should it give some ray of hope for her to walk again, they will pay for the reading - if not you needn’t even send the reading to them, but you might send it on to us (Mother and me), so that the girl won’t know what the actual condition is. Please be perfectly frank about incidents like this - I want to know how you feel about this arrangement. If it were to prove successful, it might mean a new era in the field of medicine.”
