This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of July, 1941, in accordance with request made by the husband - Mr. [816], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (GC: Did not give suggestion. The Reading came without asking, at the end of another Reading.)

1. EC: Now we have the body [811] Washington, D.C.

2. As we find, conditions have been rather serious.

3. The inability of the blood supply to make for sufficient energies, that has reduced the blood pressure, produces a form of anemia that is becoming more and more disturbing.

4. As WE find, in making for the better conditions, - we would gradually, within ten days, decrease the quantity of the medicinal properties that have been taken; AS there is improvement obtained by the thorough relaxing of the body osteopathically, rather than by the chemical reactions.

5. We would aid the better eliminations and assimilations by the stimulating treatments osteopathically for setting up drainages from alimentary canal; and stimulate activities to the liver, the spleen, and especially the gall duct.

6. Have Dr. Waters.

7. Have all of the liver and liver extract that the body can take. Take this systematically, not spasmodically. If it becomes obnoxious to eat broiled liver, grind it. If this becomes obnoxious when taken so often, then have it in the extract. DO NOT give it through injections. But DO take all that the body can assimilate.

10. (Q) Are the ultraviolet treatments of any value? (A) As we find, the Infra Red would be preferable to the Ultra-Violet. Or, if the Ultra-Violet is used, use a green light BETWEEN it and the body - a piece of green plate glass at least eight by ten inches, and at least an eighth to a quarter inch thick - at least twelve inches from the body, BETWEEN the Ultra-Violet AND the body, see?

11. (Q) Can anything be done to eliminate the irritation in the throat? (A) Especially the treatments osteopathically will do this. Especially after the second treatment this should be eliminated.

12. (Q) Are the lungs alright? (A) They lack a great deal of being alright, but it is not infection in the present, - rather lack of being sufficiently deep breathing to make the deeper activity, see?

13. (Q) Does she have a weak heart? (A) The weakness of the general physical conditions of the body makes for a weak heart, with the very slow at times and at others very quick pulse and low pressure.

14. (Q) Is there anything to do to increase the blood pressure? (A) All of these that we have given are for doing this, especially all the liver that may be taken.

15. (Q) Would she be more vigorous in a different climate? (A) Would be more vigorous in a higher altitude.

16. (Q) What causes the disturbing dreams? (A) The incoordination between the mental forces - that is, the superficial circulation and the cerebrospinal system. The tendencies to leave off and put on, in its various forms of mental activity. And these come about as reactions when the body attempts to slumber or rest. These should be improved as there is better strength gained.

17. (Q) Are the medicines she has been taking injurious or beneficial? (A) As indicated, please reduce these - not at once, but AS the conditions are helped by the effectiveness of the corrective measures osteopathically, AND the better assimilation for blood pressure, blood flow through the body.

18. (Q) Does the body get the proper kinds of food elements, or is there a deficiency? (A) If so, we wouldn’t give the special food values. Those that carry Vitamins A and B and B-1 especially should be taken by the body. These are found most, of course, in the fruits and vegetables of the yellow variety, as well as especially in marrow, beef, AND liver, tripe and the like.

19. We are through for the present.

R1. 8/1/41 Husband’s letter: “[811] is considerably improved, tomorrow I am taking her to a quiet and cool place in Virginia mountains to stay for such period as seems advisable. The mountain air is very bracing, or was when we visited the place for a few days last year, and gives one a terrific appetite. It is no place for one who wants to get thin.”

R2. 8/24/41 “[811]‘s mountain trip was very beneficial. She is much better and seems to be out of danger, but her strength is not quite normal as yet, so she has gone away again for a time to get out of the humid Washington atmosphere.”

R3. 7/19/42 Husband’s note: Mrs. [811] not so well at present, but no dangerous breakdown I hope like a year ago.

R4. 9/26/44 Husbands’s letter: “[811] would like a Ck. Physical Rdg.

“For more than a year she has been going through what is known as a change of life, and has been unable to obtain from the doctors anything that adequately relieves the intermittent hot flashes, pains in top of head, stomach nausea, and inability to sleep.” [GD’s note: EC was too ill then to give readings.]

R6. 3/65 GD’s note: Mr. [826], her brother-in-law, told me that both [811] and [816] are very feeble these days, but that [811] is worse off than [816]. He, [816], does all the cooking and waiting on [811].

R7. 6/15/66 Her brother-in-law wrote that she [811] and his brother [816] were now living in Calif.

R8. 3/77 GD’s note: The brother-in-law [826] of Mrs. [811] died and in trying to locate Mr. [816] and Mrs. [811], a mutual friend Mrs. [3627] told us that Mr. [816] had died a few years ago but she thought Mrs. [811] was still living out in Calif.
