This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 44 West 77th St., Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 14th day of October, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [819], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [819].]
Time of Reading 11:40 to 11:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [819]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, conditions are not in general under such a strain as when we last had same. Hence there are those tendencies for improvements.
-
But now to maintain the drainages and the activities through eliminating channels to remove the poisons and toxic forces that are accumulating through the system, from the influences of the slowing up and drosses that become left in the system; this is necessary, as indicated by the manners in which a little exercise either mentally or physically tires the body.
-
Hence we see the indications that stimulating the circulatory forces only makes for the accumulation of the refuses in centers, organs and places where weaknesses or cold or congestion may make for the centralizing of these to form pressures; as in the arms, in the neck and head - and at times the heaviness through the lower portion of the body, or through the torso and through the lower limbs.
-
Now, as we find, in making applications for the greater betterment of the body:
-
Be very mindful that we tend towards keeping or preserving this alkalinity; as in the diet, as in the eliminations.
-
There are the tendencies for congestions through portions of the colon and through the whole of the alimentary canal.
-
Hence, as we find, enemas that are alkalin would be most beneficial also. While they may be weakening, or tend to make for dizziness - at times, or to make for tiredness; if these are taken just before retiring of an evening, we find that these would be MOST beneficial. Not too much at a time, but once a week or twice a week - or a week may be skipped; dependent upon the general activity of the system.
-
Because there are the general eliminations once a day does not indicate there are no toxic forces where accumulations of poisons make for pressures; for these are indicated in the shoulder and the arms and in the neck - that the poisons are NOT being wholly eliminated.
-
High enemas and colonics should be considered as one, but do not attempt to cleanse the whole of the colon area at any one time. Hence, as indicated, for this tired feeling that comes over the body after physical or mental activity, it would be well for these to be taken. They may be taken as often as twice a week, but do not take a HIGH enema twice a week. GRADUALLY increase the area. Use a colon tube in about every other time the enemas are taken, and gradually be able to insert the whole length almost of the colon tube.
-
To a gallon and a half to two gallons of the tepid water first used, (not too hot nor too cold, but tepid) add a level teaspoonful of table salt and a heaping teaspoonful of baking soda.
-
Then in the last quart or two quarts of tepid rinse water used, add a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline.
-
To make for better assimilation, that will make for an activity through the whole of the body itself, we would occasionally take the Alcaroid after the meals. This may be taken today, and then it may be two to three days before it would be taken again. Dissolve a quarter teaspoonful in a small quantity of water, and then fill the glass with water; taking another full glass of water afterwards. This would preferably be taken after the heavier meal of the day. It will keep down the tendency for slowing of the digestive forces through the alimentary canal, and will make for an activity in the kidneys and the liver itself, and throughout the whole system to keep away the poisons.
-
As we find, it would be well for the low electrical forces of the Wet Cell Appliance to still be applied to the body, but we would apply them - as we find now - in a little DIFFERENT way and manner.
-
These forces should be recharged, but use in the form and manner as ordinarily given for the Radio-Active - or to the opposite extremities of the body; at least once each day, preferably as the body rests, thirty to sixty minutes is alright.
-
Taken in this way and manner, these would prove to be helpful in equalizing the circulation; especially if the toxic forces are removed through the use of the high colonic irrigations.
-
Doing these, as we find, would be the better for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should the plates be changed on the Wet Cell Appliance she is using? (A) These may be of the same size, both of the same area or size, so that the attachments may be alternated. And in attaching these, we have a positive and a negative that does not force itself, but is the natural flow - for current passes through. Make the first attachment, the positive, to the wrist, then the negative to the ankle; not each time, but every other time make it in this manner, see? then the other time reverse same.
-
(Q) The positive should be attached on alternate times to the ankle? (A) The positive should be attached on alternate times to the opposite extremity, but do not ALWAYS have the positive attached to the right or the left, but change about.
-
(Q) Should both plates or anodes be of copper or nickel? (A) One is the copper (the positive), the other is the nickel (the negative).
-
(Q) What should be done for the condition in the ear? (A) With these vibrations from the Wet Cell Appliance, and the cleansing of the system, we would take the gentle head and neck exercise of mornings and of evenings. Not more than a minute to two minutes, but be consistent. Don’t do it one day and then leave it off! This will tend to make a little dizziness at first; but do this just before rising - or upon arising the morning, and just before lying down in the evening. Turn the head and neck once to the right, once to the left, to the back, to the front; easy, then circulate - right, left; left, right. This will stimulate the circulation to the head forces so as to clear same; and will help not only the ears but the eyes and prevent that accumulation at times of phlegm in throat.
-
(Q) Should the body attempt to reduce; if so, how? (A) This would be more harmful, to make for that which would dry tissue or that would become destructive. Do not overeat; but keep these conditions as we have indicated and the body should, with the regular exercise, reduce somewhat.
-
(Q) Is there any advice for the body regarding the daughter? (A) Yes. As we find, do not make conditions antagonistic. But being sensible and reasonable, being open about all situations, will make for the better developments of associations and relations.
While, as we have indicated, there has been the determination on the part that there would be a union, this has gotten farther and farther apart or away. Unless this is catapulted by there being some antagonism brought about, it will naturally and regularly revert so as to keep conditions better for all concerned.
-
(Q) What would you advise regarding my sale of property? (A) As we find, there have been some considerations on the part of those that would like to purchase same; but these have been in the position where there have been the attempts to force issues. WE would find that there may be negotiations made with others in the same surroundings or vicinities, through channels that are of the general agencies for the handling of such conditions, that these may be made by suggestions that these be considered. And we would find, well - within or before the beginning of another year, a consummation should be had.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/1/35 [819]‘s letter to EC:
“Please pardon me for not sending to you before, the five dollars owing to you.
“I thank you very much for sending your son to … to look over my battery. Please tell him I thank him also. I also wish to thank you for giving me the reading when you were in New York. Perhaps I am impatient and expect results in too short a time but electricity does not seem to help me much.
“I have been very miserable since I saw you last and the pains in my arms have at times, seemed unbearable. I was so miserable recently that I had to go to an osteopathic physician for help. He has treated me and used electric lights on my spine and shoulders. He relieved me a great deal but the relief is not lasting.
“My son, who lives in …, is anxious about me and thinks a warmer climate might benefit me. He wants me to spend the winter with my daughter who lives in southern California. Perhaps I shall decide to do that although it would be difficult for me to leave my work here.
“Should I go I could not take my battery with me and I have wondered if you could sell it for me. If I remember rightly you inferred that you could sell it if I did not want it. Something was said about it when I saw you in New York. I should not expect to get the price I paid for it, although it is as good as new. On my return from California, if I am not better, I hope to see you again in New York.
“Perhaps at that time you would advise something different. You spoke of another appliance that you recommended to some people. Perhaps that would help me. I cannot afford it now, however. I get very much discouraged at times but I suppose that is natural when one is not well.
“I thank you very much for what you have done for me. (I do believe you have helped me some, only I am not yet cured). I know I must not expect miracles at my age.
“I think your work is wonderful and know you have helped many people and believe you could cure me, could I see you more often so you could watch my progress.
“We are so tied up financially that I cannot spend money as I should like to do. My son will help me financially on my trip and of course it will cost me no more to live at my daughter’s than it costs at home.
“Let me know if you can sell the battery. I would not sell it at present but I need the money.
“I am hoping to be able to sell some property this coming year and if I should be so fortunate, my money on the mortgage would go a long way in helping me out of my difficulties. Probably my illness has been aggravated if not caused by over-anxiety and worry.
“I am trying hard not to worry and believe I have made some little progress in its overcoming.
“Thanking you for past favors and with kind regards to you, Mr. Cayce, and your son…”
“P.S. I have written to you once since I last saw you but the letter must have miscarried as I have received no answer.”
R2. 12/15/35 [819]‘s letter to EC:
“I sent you a letter recently in which I enclosed a check for five dollars, the amount due you for last reading. I have received no reply but hope you have received the check.
“Since writing you I can see some improvement in my condition. I had osteopathic treatments for a short time but electricity is helping me I can now see.
“Some time in January I am hoping to be able to go to California to visit my daughter.
“In my last letter to you I asked if you could sell my battery as I can not take it with me. If you cannot sell it, I shall keep it and use it again when I return to … in the spring.
“I feel encouraged and as you asked for a report on my condition I am sending this letter.
“If you could give me any advice or suggestions I should be glad. If you can sell the battery I should be glad of the money at present and on my return to …, could buy another battery if necessary. I have to contend with some opposition in my home as my daughter does not sympathize with some of my ideas. So at times things are a little difficult for me.
“Thanking you for your help and hoping to hear from you soon…”
R3. 1/6/36 HLC’s letter to [819]:
“I regret that we have not answered your letters of December 1 and 15th, before this. We spent the greater portion of November and December in Detroit, Michigan and did not return to the beach until just before Christmas. The holidays have been a busy time for us all here.
“With reference to your appliance I am enclosing a copy of a letter I am writing today to the company now handling these appliances in Norfolk, Virginia. I am sure they will be glad to make some adjustment with you on your appliance. I would suggest that you write them direct.
“We were glad to learn that you have been on the improve and do hope that this will continue.
“With best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year…”
