GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [826]; this we have had before.
-
While many changes have taken place in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here, most of these as we find are reacting in a near to normal manner, - to keep the body very well balanced physically and mentally.
-
There are conditions as related to the superficial circulation that at times cause some inconvenience or aggravations, yet in the main - as the body exercises, and alters the food values - these are kept very well in abeyance.
-
The natural tendencies owing to the altitude of the environs cause the body-pressures to contribute a great deal to the condition. And if the body remains in this environ, such should be taken into consideration; as to the food values for their contribution to the better assimilation and the effects upon the central nervous system and central circulation, also as to the exercise. Not that there should be an overtaxing, but the keeping of a balance sufficient to keep the normal forces through the body functionings.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) From a health standpoint, would it be advisable for me to leave Washington? (A) As indicated, if there is a difference in the altitude, or even the activities in the west - as has been indicated for the body - it would contribute more to the general physical welfare of the body. But, as the the body has understood and does understand, the body adapts itself to the various conditions, and acclimates itself, if there is consideration given to the blood pressures, the variations of foods in different climates and different tendencies. And if there is consideration in keeping exercises for keeping body physically fit, the environs may be made satisfactory wherever the body may be. But, as indicated, the tendencies are such that such a move would be physically beneficial.
-
(Q) As I understand it, the earth from 120 to 135 degrees west longitude is ruled by Scorpio, while 60 to 90 degrees west longitude is ruled by Capricorn in which sign Saturn in my natal horoscope is located. Would it be better for my health for me to go to that part of California west of 120 degrees longitude? (A) Be better in that portion about Los Angeles. That would be west, and the altitude as well as effective conditions are such as would or might have to do with the general well-being of the earth forces so as to give better acclimation for this particular body.
But, it should be remembered by the body that astrological aspects in the ruling of various spheres in ANY land are merely inclinations or tendencies. Being aware of same, do not give such influences power by giving credit to them so often, or by acting against same. Rather just adjust self, self’s hopes, self’s desires. For, it has been given from the beginning: SUBDUE the earth and its influence; indicating that to be subdued by tendencies is to become subject to those laws rather than to a creative influence in a material, mental and spiritual understanding, controlling through the abilities of self alone.
For many reasons, though, those environs would be well for the body. These may use or apply abilities in ALL phases of its studies more to the point, in those environs. But remember that just given.
-
(Q) Do you have any suggestions by which I could improve my health? (A) As outlined, take into consideration the various effects created by the varied environs. And then plan the diet and the activity to adjust self to same. For, what one digests and assimilates, - mentally or spiritually or materially, - has its bearing upon what is brought forth.
-
(Q) Would Los Angeles at 118 degrees west longitude ruled by Gemini and the sign Sagitattarius be as good as San Francisco or some other city? (A) As we have indicated, this would be better than other portions of this same land.
-
(Q) Is there some other city or place in the United States that would be better for my health? (A) This, as we find, would be most satisfactory; though, as given, the body can choose - and then adjust itself physically, mentally, spiritually.
Do not leave out the spiritual attributes, nor the hopes and fears and purposes and desires of the ENTITY, the soul.
- We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce:
I received the book and read it with much interest. Sugrue has done an excellent job of writing the material and getting it together. As [816] says, it is fascinatingly interesting. The first 100 pages or so reads like a novel, then of course it changes to a half and half basis, that is, part narrative and part statement of facts presented in a story telling manner.
As to its reception by the public, I think it will be good over a long period of time but slow in the beginning. I base this opinion on the following things. A friend of mine here in Washington who has the largest reading library in Washington and supplies books to hundreds of outlying neighborhood libraries tells me that that type of books is usually read only by people who are interested in that kind of subject. Hence, in the beginning I would expect the readers to be confined largely to people who are interested in psychic subjects, which people are in a minority.
However, as you know I base my outlook considerably on astrology. You have noted that the readings say we should subdue the earth, but I notice that even you with all of your unusual spiritual power have been subject to astrological influences, and I believe that everyone is unless they use their knowledge of the stars to control them. For example, with regard to yourself, you are born under pisces the same as [816] and I. For the 14 years ending October 3, 1942, the depression planet Neptune has been in opposition and adverse to your sign Pisces. Such an opposition would not only prevent any marked advancement, but if there were an overextension of credit, it would also bring about decided losses. [816] and I have both felt noticeably the effects of this adversity and have been able to progress only slowly and in a small way. Of course, it is about at the beginning of this period that the hospital was lost owing to overexpansion, of Morton in the market, and your work has progressed but slowly since then.
Now as to the future. Intentionally or inadvertently, this book has been started under very favorable astrological conditions, as well as numerological. Sometime, when you write me, I wish you would tell me if this was intentional or if it just happened. Numerologically, it is begun under vibrations which indicate that it will ultimately be a great success and also accomplish a great deal of good. Astrologically, Neptune the depression planet has now moved into a sign which is somewhat favorable to our sign for the next 14 years. Also, it was begun at a time when Saturn and Uranus were entering our so-called fourth sign, which implies that those matters begun at that time will be accomplished, although the success will be very slow at first and will not reach final fruition until 14 years from now, and a second peak at the end of 21 years. Much should be accomplished, however, by the end of 7 years. Because of the fact that for the first two and one-half years, Saturn will be adverse to our sign, the beginning will be slow. Saturn brings obstacles, difficulties, delays, disappointments, and sometimes losses. Uranus will also for the first seven years oppose our sign and will bring many ups and downs. Nevertheless, for a long-time proposition, a better time could not have been selected to present the book, and I think that it will be a success, looking at it from a long-term viewpoint.
For your information, if you have anything else you want to begin of any nature, February, March, and April, 1943, will be best months which we will have for three or four years to begin any enterprise. At that time, Our Sun will be in favorable aspect to Jupiter. I have begun two or three things in the past at such periods, and they have without exception brought about some of the brightest spots in my life.
I doubt if I will go west at this time. Because of my job here, it is to my advantage to stay in Washington so long as I can. Also, when I entered this place on March 16, 1940, the astrological vibrations were such that I will not be able to equal them again for quite some time to come. That is why I have stayed here so persistently since then, although I would like to visit Virginia Beach very much. Due to these vibrations, I have been able since 1940, to gradually continue to improve in all the ways relating to me. So I hesitate to make a change unless essential. Nevertheless, I was much interested in what the reading stated about Los Angeles. For years, I have desired to go to Los Angeles to live. It looks as I would ultimately have to do so, out of curiosity if nothing else.
[816] is getting along fine. [811] is not feeling so well and is not working now, but I guess she is about normal or near normal. Tell Gladys thanks for the Christmas card, and I will write her when I think of some more news. Regards also to Mrs. Cayce and Hugh Lynn.

R2. See subsequent correspondence under 826-11 Reports.
R3. 5/1/46 I was No. 1 ranking tennis player here last year; last Sunday, I was appointed Chairman of the Tennis Committee at the Edgemoor Club here; and about three weeks ago, some members of the choir at the National baptist church here heard me singing and asked me to join the choir. I guess Washington is still good for me, and I am still making progress.
R4. 4/29/65 GD’s note: Mr. [826], I think, still looks rather youthful and physically fit for one of his years. He is still experimenting with himself and seems to make out alright unless getting emotionally involved.
R5. 5/74 We heard that Mr. [826] was now in an old folks home, suffering from cerebral arteriosclerosis, progressive. I wonder if this has resulted from his chronic faddish diet through the years. GD. [Died 2/77]
