This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of November, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [826], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes. We have the body here, [826]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, conditions have been somewhat improved through the body.

3. The inadvertent or unusual manner in which the application has been made of these things suggested for the nasal passages - through the usage of the inhalent, and the taking of the Atomidine in the MANNER that it has been adhered to, has apparently made for the contraction of cold; or the EFFECT of the FLOW of the lymph through portions of the body.

4. We would use the inhalent, prepared in the MANNER indicated, for cold, for congestion, for irritation in throat and through the mucous membranes of the head. These properties are well, provided they are put together properly; not as at first but rather as they were the second time, see?

5. Leave off the Atomidine, then, in the present. Take rather the EXERCISES that will make sufficient perspiration of the body when in activity, see? Not too much in the open with these. It is necessary, of course, to be in the open at times; but don’t get too hot in the open, see? Take rather the exercise as would be had from gymnasium work; then have a thorough rubdown and a SALT rub with same, followed with the alcohol rub.

6. These should keep and make for those conditions that would be the best for this body of [826].

8. (Q) Also should the Radio-Active Appliance be left off? (A) Take the Radio-Active Appliance to REST the body at any TIME!

9. (Q) Is manufactured ice preferable to ice made in an electric refrigerator, for the Radio-Active Appliance? (A) Either will do. The manufactured ice is PREFERABLE because it carries that which will make for more effectiveness. The preferable manner, of course, would be to use dry ice; but any of it is alright just so it makes activities for the system.

KEEP the plates clear. Before they are attached to the body cleanse them, each day they are to be used.

10. (Q) Does ice made in an electric refrigerator cause an adverse effect when used in the Radio-Active Appliance? (A) It is alright. It does not produce an adverse influence.

11. (Q) In what manner should I use the Radio-Active Appliance? (A) When the body is resting; lying down is preferable.

12. (Q) What causes the itching about the groin recently, similar to athlete’s foot, and how can it be cured? (A) Use any of the rubs that are usually indicated. Or use a combination of Oil of Sassafras, Oil of Cedar Wood, and CUT with pure grain alcohol - THEN dilute with the oil; that is, the Compound Tincture of Benzoin.

13. (Q) In what proportions? (A) As just given, it is a combination - which means equal portions of those first two; then cut, of course, and double the quantity of the Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Use a small quantity to rub on.

14. (Q) What caused this condition? (A) Hindered circulation.

15. (Q) Are there any further directions relating to physical treatment? (A) As we find, keep an even keel in the thinking and in the activities of the body; so that we keep a normal intake and outtake, as it were, of the physical activities. And we will keep a near normal balance. For the body is a great deal better, in a much better condition than when we had it before.

From my experience with the readings, I have a few suggestions, although I do not wish them to be considered in any way a criticism. My experience has largely been adverse so far as physical readings are concerned, yet I think it might have been fortunate under different circumstances.

If any kind of radio appliance is recommended in any reading, care should be used to give the person receiving the reading the exact name and address where it can be obtained, and the price. I was not given any of this until I went back for it, then an erroneous address was given causing some delay.

In such an instance, the person receiving the reading should be carefully instructed how to put on the appliance. This information, as I recall, I secured from someone else, but any one not familiar with the work will not understand this unless told.

One of the wires to my appliance broke off at the point where the wire connects with the metal, and in fixing it, the man in New York repaired it differently from the original. As a result, after using that wire, I took a very bad cold. I then borrowed [816]‘s wires which were satisfactory, and mine gave satisfactory results before the repair was made. No change should be made in the appliances or wiring other than that stated in the readings, and the man in New York should be so instructed.

I have found that, after the metal is fastened to the arm or ankle, if a rubber band is then placed around the wire and the arm or leg fixing it so that the bending of the wire will take place a few inches from the end rather than at the point of contact with the metal, the wire will not break. For example, fasten the metal to the wrist. Then, take a light rubber band and put it around the arm up just below the elbow so that it will hold the wire close to the arm up that far. Then when sleeping with the appliance on, the natural bend of the wire away from the arm will not cause the wire to break, as it would if the bending were constantly at the point of contact of the wire and the metal.

When I received my prescription for the inhalant, it was not put together by the druggist in the order in which the ingredients were given in the reading, and the result was that it brought on a very severe cold. I understand that this has happened in a number of instances with various persons. In the letter to the druggist carrying each prescription, great care should be taken to specifically instruct him to to put the ingredients of the prescription together. And the patient should also be instructed so that he can call the druggist’s attention to this.
