This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce in Hopkinsville, Ky., this 23rd day of June, 1911.

Time of Reading Unknown. Hopkinsville, Ky.
-
LBC: You have before you [83], of Cor. … St. Go over him carefully, examine him thoroughly and tell us what his condition is now.
-
EC: Yes, we have had him here before. You see we have the general condition of the whole body somewhat better than we had before, but the resistive force of power, or forces in the body, are not so well.
-
(Q) What conditions do you find? (A) A general debilitiation of all of the recuperative forces.
-
(Q) What has caused this change? (A) Using up of the force in resisting the effect of the first cause.
-
(Q) What causes the pains in the head? (A) Lack of enough blood going there to supply the demand, using the force of the recuperative power to the brain in itself.
-
(Q) What is the condition of his bowels, now as compared with before? (A) Like we had the first time.
-
(Q) What is the condition of the blood now? (A) The blood is generally better, but the resistive force in the blood is not as good.
-
(Q) What is the cause of that? (A) Using up to the make-up of the body, or the growth into it.
-
(Q) Is he getting enough of the electricity, or what treatment would you prescribe for the present condition. (A) Plenty of the ozone or oxidization to the body, to the blood and plenty of the oxygen from the outside. Plenty of the recuperative force to the capillary circulation. Bring more into effect use of the body, more to the emunctories that have been used up through the sympathetic circulation.
The body is wasted away and has become emaciated. The capillary circulation or that to the exterior portions of the system, has become emaciated. Will have to use them and bring into force and will bring the recuperative power back to the body.
-
(Q) How will you do that? (A) By using them, and bringing into force of action.
-
(Q) What per-cent has the hemoglobin been increased? (A) 1/16 as before. How the action of the force on it, carries back for the time being, the action on the force of the hemoglobin in the blood, or oxidization of the blood, forces the action on to the blood and increases the hemoglobin. The action on to the forces as carried into the circulation, through the heart and acted on by that of the air in the lung, produced the hemoglobin about one to sixty.
-
(Q) Is he getting enough electricity? (A) Yes.
-
(Q) Is the specific gravity increased any? (A) A little.
-
(Q) How much? (A) One to 37.
-
(Q) Is there any medicine you would prescribe or any other treatment besides the ozone and electricity? (A) Only those to act on the the exterior portion of the body by that of baths to it, to bring out the forces of action of the forces, and oil along the spine.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/6/60 Letter to GD from EC’s cousin, Lena Jones Wicks, daughter of Ella Cayce Jones: “In response to your letter of Sept. 2 - I called Mr. […] who speaks very deliberately as Hugh Lynn can attest, and he said his son, [83] had difficulty involving his legs to the degree that he could not walk. Edgar gave a reading in the presence of Mr. […], the instructions were carried out, the son soon walked and every reading showed an improvement as well as the actual evidence. When [83] was seven years of age he ate a large amount of green peaches and died of the results, Mr. […] said ‘cramps’. [Acute indigestion?]
“I so hope he will set this in order and get it to you in a more detailed manner, I was afraid something would happen and he would not write. Mr. […] had promised me a letter for my files and never has sent it. I asked him IF the disease treated by Edgar Cayce had anything to do with his departure and he said ‘NO’.
“Gladys, I want to thank you for all you have done for mankind with the service you have rendered at Virginia Beach and elsewhere, it took more than intelligence to make this magnificent contribution and we OWE you so much. The Readings mean more to me daily and it may be possible that I can get on the right track yet. I am doing more here than I could there, but trust I can come ere long.”
R2. 11/20/60 Letter to GD from [83]‘s father: “Your letter of Sept. 2, was not answered due to the illness and death of my wife, which has taken up much of my time.
“In answer to your questions. Yes, [83] was my son. He was born October 13, 1903, and died June 27, 1911. He was sick several months, and I had several doctors with him, but none of them knew the nature of his trouble.
“The Readings, which Mr. Edgar Cayce gave on my son, were destroyed when my Store burned. I will give you the substance of the Readings as best I can remember.
“They were given between June 15th and June 25th, 1911. The first Reading, Edgar said he had no Red Blood. The second Reading, he stated there was some improvement in this condition. He prescribed Electric treatment, - High Frequency, or Static Electropathy. Dr. Wesley Ketchum had this type machine in his office, and gave these treatments according to Mr. Cayce’s diagnosis. I carried [him] in my arms for the first treatment on this machine. The second treatment, I took him to the machine in my arms, and when I went to take him off, he said, ‘Father, I can get off myself’; and the third treatment, he got off the machine and walked away by himself.
“I asked Edgar several questions while he was giving the Readings. I asked what kind of Electricity he needed, and he answered Static electricity of the type mentioned above. I then asked him - what ‘pole’, and he answered ‘Positive Pole’. I inquired how long he would have to take these treatments, and he said the Patient would let me know when he had enough. He told me the difference in his condition after each treatment.
“He had knots on the joints of his hands and arms, and they were stiff. The day after the third treatment, these joints ‘suppled up’, and the knots were about half gone.
“We had some peaches and cream for supper; the peaches were not good and ripe, and this gave him the cramps and that was the end. [June 27, 1911]
“Assuring you that I am happy to furnish this information, and trust it will be beneficial to someone.”
R3. 5/16/63 Letter from GD to Dr. Ketchum: “Dr. Ketchum, this [83] case was… Will you please note below, and return, the type electrical machine this was, also what ailment you think we should use in indexing. Thanks.”
