This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 44 West 77th St., Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 30th day of March, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [838], through Mr. [257], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 4:15 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Conn. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
As we find, while the body is responding to those suggestions, there has been scarcely sufficient period for a great deal of change save in the general FEELINGS in the system. These, as we find, if they are continued with all of those suggestions given, should bring much better conditions.
-
While the applications of the massage are more massage, these are very helpful. They are hardly so deep in some centers as they might be, yet if these are continued in the definite way and manner that has been outlined - and as has been shown for the manipulator - these will bring results for this body, [838].
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Would you advise that I have two wisdom teeth removed which are troubling me? (A) We would get the nerves in much better condition before undertaking it.
-
(Q) Any other suggestions for the body at this time? (A) We would follow those things as outlined. Be consistent and persistent, and we will find - with the use of those applications that have been given - we will gain a much better equilibrium and feel very much better throughout.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/21/35 Mr. [257]‘s ltr.: “I took the [838] battery up myself and she used it for the first time today.”
R2. 4/27/35 “Mrs. [838] is using the battery - so I was informed tonight - and will ask for a ck. up soon.”
R3. 5/5/35 She submitted questions: “Why do I have such backaches? Why can’t I grow fingernails? Why do I have irritating hives? Why can’t I find shoes with proper support for my arches oftener than once in yrs. & yrs.? Are all these things due to nerves, and if so, would medical treatment be of any use - if so, who? Am I applying the battery properly? Is it the right battery? Are the massage treatments being done properly? Should I go to Dr. Dobbins in NY - if so, how often? Should I go to Dr. Reilly’s in NY or can I have the treatments with women now waiting on me? Is my diet correct? What exercises best for me now?”
R4. 6/6/35 Mr. [257]‘s letter enclosed Mrs. [838]‘s above letter of 5/5/35 (which had been addressed to him), saying he had helped her with the questions and “She is better already.”
R5. 7/4/35 Mr. [257]‘s letter: “Now as to Mrs. [838] - she has had so much company that she has been unable to make a date and keep it, but I do wish you would write her one of your famous, chatty letters, that your only interest in her is because I am so interested and you know you must keep up the treatments to get results. She is doing the work but I want her checked. That friendship [business relationship with her husband] is very valuable and she helps me a lot, and all in all we help one another. You understand, I am sure, what it means to her, to him and to us. She was going to write you Thursday night - did she?”
R6. 7/23/35 EC’s letter to Mr. [257]: “We have written Mrs. [838] several times and have made appointments without response. I hope she is continuing the treatments as given in the first reading, even thought she seems too busy to have the check-up at this time.”
R7. 2/24/41 [838]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
A few years ago you gave me a reading thru the interest of Mr. [257], and I wonder if you could give me another soon? I would appreciate suggestions for the treatment of some of the causes of my discomfort - namely:
Am I doing all that can be done for my eyes.
Do my tonsils cause any trouble.
Do my teeth cause any trouble.
Is infra-red light the proper treatment for the pains in my shoulders, etc.
Have I a POCKET, or anything of that nature, in the intestines.
Should my diet contain any roughage, starches, sugars.
What type of treatment would you suggest for fallen arches?
If you will write, giving me the time most convenient for you, I will wire if satisfactory to me.
Sincerely yours, [838]
