This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of August, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self, through mother, Mrs. [326], Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [850]; this we have had before. (Something of an unusual odor about the place.) [GD’s note: See 8/8/55 report under 850-7 in re odor from her catarrhal condition; however above may have referred to Ry. Station where she was working.]

2. Now as we find, in many respects conditions show improvements from that as we have had here before.

3. There needs be taken into consideration, though, the causes that have been indicated for the humor in the blood stream; the effect that this has had upon the circulation, the cause of the incoordination between the deep and the superficial circulation; the cause, the effect of the catarrhal condition through the body; and apply not only corrective measures but precautions as to diet and activities for preventatives.

4. And if these are taken into consideration properly, as we find we will find a great deal of betterment as yet for the body.

5. First, then, in these connections in the present:

As we find, we would change the eliminations as to the motions or the activities from which these emanate in the system; by the addition of those effective activities that call for and produce an activity in those portions of the body that have been hindered by the settlements or the drosses from the humor in the blood stream; the liver, the kidneys, the activity of the pancreas, the spleen and especially through the upper portion of the alimentary canal, and naturally the cleansing through the lower.

7. First we would begin then with a compound prepared in this way and manner:

8. We would have compounded THREE capsules, with this in each - this in EACH capsule:

Podophyllum…1/4 grain, Leptandrin …1/2 grain, Sanguinaria…1/2 grain.

Take these, one capsule each evening when ready to retire, for three evenings.

9. Then the second day after the last capsule is taken, take during the whole day a whole bottle of Fletcher’s Castoria. Take this in about three or four doses.

10. After the system is cleansed then, make for a correction osteopathically - about three to six treatments; these taken about once or twice a week for about six treatments.

11. The diet and the activity in precautionary measures: Beware of fried foods. Beware of white bread. Do not combine potatoes and spaghetti at the same meal. Do not combine white beans or dried butterbeans or the like with potatoes at the same meal. Beware of hog meat in any form.

12. Do these and take the exercises in the open, and as much of the sun ray’s activity; that is, exercising in the sun, as is possible for the body to do.

13. Walking is the better exercise.

15. (Q) What is the cause and relief for the cough? (A) That arises from this incoordination in the circulation and the effect of same upon the pulmonary activities. Cleanse the system, purify the blood, keeping the activity as indicated, and we will make for better conditions.

A tonic of Iron, Quinine and Wine would be very well; or Beef, Iron and Wine - Wyethe’s. Do not take but one dose of this each day (and this would be after the osteopathic treatments or the series have been taken). Preferably two teaspoonsful once each day, but take the whole quantity.

16. (Q) Please give specific advice for the hardness to get a good breath? (A) As indicated, the relief is from removal of those pressures; the conditions in the eliminations of the system, and the activities as indicated.

17. (Q) Please give me a remedy that will cure me of catarrh in nose and throat. (A) This has been given; the purifying of the blood supply.

A remedy for these conditions, or a preventative, AFTER these treatments suggested have been taken, would be to use a spray of Atomidine. The proportions would be a teaspoonful to an ounce of distilled water, but it is necessary that the spray be cleansed AFTER each time this is used. This would be used about Tuesdays and Fridays - should be sufficient if used AFTER the other treatments, the cleansing of the body, the corrections along the spine, have been given; not before but AFTER these the spray may be used that will not only be a preventative but will also keep the body in accord so that it will be very less apt to take cold during bad weather.

18. (Q) Is the irregular menstruation affecting my health? (A) This is the general nervous condition, but it is caused more from disturbance in the circulation and the hepatic circulation than otherwise. With these corrections of these precautions and these activities, all of this should be corrected.

Do that.

19. (Q) What causes the fullness in head and headache, especially when I add figures? (A) Circulation, as has been indicated. Do that as outlined for the correction of same.

20. (Q) Do I need glasses? (A) For close and constant work, yes.

21. (Q) What is the condition of my blood? (A) As has been given.

22. (Q) What should I do for breaking out on nose and body? (A) As has been given.

23. (Q) Please give me an affirmation that will help me physically, mentally and spiritually. (A) Affirmations are well, but remember there is ever a promise to life or the divine within self as well as the Infinite outside of self. And unless these are kept as inviolate as the self would have its closest associations, then they become stumblingblocks rather than helpfulness in the experience.

But this - mean it and ACT THAT WAY!

Did not have physician to diagnose.

No, because I could not get prescription filled for several months on account of druggist being unable to get ingredients.

(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted?

General condition better but still have wheezing in left lobe of lung.

(7) Comment.

If organization could have its own apothecary shop more readings could be carried out, since a Physician’s prescription is necessary at drug store.
