Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, S.C. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [868].
-
As we find, there are specific conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body. These, as we find, are a disturbance in the hepatic circulation in such manners as to affect the activity of the circulation.
-
These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [868] we are speaking of:
-
In the BLOOD SUPPLY we find an indication of the disturbance in the circulation of the blood supply, especially from the characterizations that are indicated we find this disturbing the lymph and emunctory circulation as related to the hepatics. Hence we have something of the nature of a catarrhal condition along the area from the kidney and the liver circulation. This makes for the disturbances that are indicated with the characterization of the urea, of the activities of the kidneys and the inflammation that is experienced at times in the bladder. These have not been or are not the nature of sedimentary conditions where the disturbance makes for an accumulation either in the kidney or in the bladder itself, but makes for a lumbago reaction, or a heaviness across the small of the back. Hence at times through the right portion of the side, at others more in the left, there is caused a numbness to the lower extremities, making for the accumulation of a circulation or the attempt to care for same that deadens, as it were, the lower extremities - feeling as if they were going to sleep, and those activities that make for this low functioning of the eliminating channels of the system through the alimentary canal, by the very accumulation of temperature there at times.
-
The blood supply itself is below normal in the supply of red blood, though not an anemia in its better or greater sense; yet subnormal in the numbers of red blood supply.
-
The NERVOUS FORCES of the system, to be sure, especially in the cerebrospinal, are sympathetic to the condition; or with this slowed circulation or great amount of circulation (for both occur), there is caused a strain, a tiredness, a heaviness to the eyes, the ears, all of the sensory organism through the sympathetic reactions to the sympathetic nerve forces of the body, or the sympathetic system. These are the conditions as we find them with this body.
-
As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, all show distresses in one period or another of their reacting; yet the correction of these, as we find, would bring the better or the greater reaction that without the correction would or must eventually bring an accumulation of some kind, either in the kidney or the capsule thereof, or in a reflex condition through cold or congestion to the bladder area, or the glands of the lower portion of the body that function with the elimination and the organs of the reproduction. For the glands are involved in the condition sympathetically.
-
As we would find, in making corrections for this body, first:
-
We would have the thorough massage osteopathically given; not too heavy, but so as to relax the body. Then we would have the applications of the deep therapy or diathermy, and the applications same would be to the 3rd and 4th dorsal area first, and to the lacteal or the gall duct areas. In the next period when there would be the reaction or application, the first application would be with the anode to the kidney plexus area, you see, or the lower hepatic circulation, and the other to the same center over the lacteal duct - to the right side or portion of the body. These we would take about twice each week. Before each diathermy application we would have the manipulation and adjustments osteopathically.
-
After these have been taken for at least three to four weeks, then we begin taking a small bottle - or six ounces - of Vinol, as it is compounded; but to each teaspoonful as a dose add two minims or drops of Essence of Lactated Pepsin, not more. Vinol is a combination of herbs that will work with the activity of the kidney and liver circulation. Do not take more than two doses each day, one in the morning and one in the evening, for a week; then rest or leave off for a week; but continue with the treatments of the deep therapy and the massage.
-
And, we will find, we will make for an easing of this condition.
-
Should there occur the periods of heaviness across the lower portion of the back or across the kidney area, apply a flannel - heavy, heated - for a few minutes - that has been dipped in a solution of equal portions Mutton Suet, Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. This should EASE the body, see? This would be done only when there are the acute attacks.
-
Do this.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Any recommendation for the diet? (A) Keep to those foods, preferably, that may be outlined by the physician that applies the treatments; and preferably have the same physician apply the manipulations and the diathermy.
-
(Q) Would you recommend any doctor in his vicinity? (A) Anyone that’s in sympathy, with the osteopathic profession, that applies the diathermy - or the electrical appliances also.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 5/11/35 Ltr. to EC from [868]:
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I have your letter of May 7th inquiring as to my condition and asking if I have carried out the instructions in your letter. Due to the fact that I live in a very small town a good distance from a city of any size, I have not been able to take treatments as I should, and as were recommended by the Osteopath who I saw in Wilmington [North Car.?]. It takes a full day to make the trip to Wilmington and back and as this treatment should be given at least every other day I have not been able to take the time from my work to carry these out as I should. My trouble does not seem to be improving any. I am at present having my teeth worked on, which I trust will give me some relief and if this does not I will simply have to take the time to see the Osteopath as suggested to me in your letter.
Thanking you for inquiring as to the benefits I have received from your Reading and trusting that I will soon be feeling better, I am
Yours very truly, [868]
