This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of July, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [877], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [877], who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his material affairs, his life and work. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [877]; the material, the mental associations and activities of this body.

3. In the physical, some conditions are very much improved; some seem allayed somewhat; in others there has not been the full conformity to those suggestions we have given, and thus anxieties still remain in some directions.

4. In the material and mental affairs, ready for questions.

5. (Q) As one of the two Trustees of the … Education Foundation, I seek direction as to how to function perfectly and help all concerned therewith to do likewise. (A) In considering a service of such a nature, many varied phases of human endeavor and experience must be taken into consideration, - first, the place such an organization is to fill in the experience of certain individual classes or groups, - and that it requires the activity of numbers of individuals who have a personal interest.

This must be, then (the organization and its policies) appealing to a universal interest. Thus, those who contribute to the educational features and factors of such must be in such an attitude as not to be offensive nor offended at one another’s presentation of that which is the key to the development of individual’s seeking through such a channel for aid.

These should be the policies, or such as these, if such an organization would fill that place which as we find is needed.

Know that the basis must be from one Lord, one faith, one baptism. And any that would lead in a direction other than this may become very easily heresy in the experiences of those who learn, or who are taught, or who are induced to believe that there are other channels for perfect understanding.

For, these are times and occasions when every effort should be made to preserve the universality of LOVE as was and is presented by those who seek the way through HIM, - who is the light of the world!

For He alone has overcome the world, - and such must be kept. While there may be many signposts, many roads, many roads that lead to the Cross, - the CROSS is that through which ALL gain the greater concept of the purpose of life’s expression with human souls endeavoring to seek the light.

6. (Q) What assistance may I expect from my co-trustee - Haydn Cooke? (A) There has grown some coldness, owing to the very changes - or apparent changes - in the code as has been indicated. But if there is an agreement upon that which IS the Way, then there may be a more prefect understanding. And HAVE THAT NOW!

7. (Q) What assistance may I expect from the others connected with the Foundation? (A) As has been indicated, all must accept those principles of ONE GOD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM!

8. (Q) I seek direction as to how to sell our Sands Point House. (A) This, again - as we find, as has been indicated heretofore - may best be disposed of through those associations, or those connections of the Woolworth organization, or individuals of that family or group.

As to how to accomplish this, - this, as has been indicated, must be worked out by the entity or self. Owing to the complications, the associations, this may appear at the first to be unreasonable, - yet it IS the channel that may bring about a connection wherein such may be accomplished to the best interest of all concerned.

9. (Q) Is seek direction as to how to clear my debts. (A) These can be met only by measuring up to that which brings the promise - that is well known in self - from the SOURCES of supply, - materially, physically.

For the earth is indeed the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof. The silver and the gold are his.

When ye measure to that standard where there is needed such for the best mental and soul development, such is - will be - supplied.

10. (Q) My one and only desire is to do the will of our Father. What is His will for me? (A) As has been given of old, know that it is not that someone - either from heaven or from over the seas - would bring thee a message, a direction. For it is within thine own self alone that the contact can me made.

Liken it unto the radio, the telephone, the electric light. The current for either is within thine own self. Knowledge of patterns and illustrations of either of these, as material things, may be brought to thy attention. But for self to enjoy that understanding which comes from even the use of these in their material application, self must make the effort, must make the contact, must make the attunement.

For thy body is indeed the temple of the living God. There He has promised to meet thee. There He has promised to make Himself known to thee, His will, His purpose with thee.

That may NOT be supplied by another. If that were true, that it might be supplied by another, why the need of the Son to suffer the death on the Cross, to offer Himself as a sacrifice? He offered it not alone for thyself, for the world, for the souls of men, but for His OWN being!

For, ye - too - are HIS son; and ye, too, are brethren one with another.

Seek and ye shall find, knock and it will be opened unto thee.
