This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of February, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [900].

Time of Reading 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New Orleans, La.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [900], of …, New Orleans, La., and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read same to you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, which we have had here before. Ready for dream.

3. (Q) Tuesday Night, Feb. 16, or Wednesday Morning, Feb. 17, 1926. My father said to me (we were in our N.Y. office. He had his coat off, just as he used to be when he worked in his own office.) “Your books are not kept right.” “That is only the journal; not the ledger,” I replied, and I explained to him how we ran our books. I had just returned from New Orleans and I noticed the office was all changed around. The stenographer had my desk and nothing was left for me but a little table in another part of the room. (A) Here again we see there is given directly to the entity that warning as regarding the manner or way that books are kept, or in DIRECT manner the way in which these are checked, for we find there are some instances where there might be called discrepancies in the manner and way, and is as the warning again, and as is seen this occurs after the return. Then, when the body returns, well that this be looked into, and the full or re-check be made with this book. As the change is seen in the office, and the stenographer coming to that desk as occupied by entity, and the entity left only a small place in another portion of the room, this again an indication of the necessary changes that the entity will find in that of the return to the office, and as this seems the small place for the entity, there will be seen the larger share of work to be done at the office and at entity’s desk, with a LARGER amount given to a stenographer by the entity.

Then, the lesson as should be gained, as seen, the father at work and giving the warning. Then, heed this warning, that no condition arise wherein questions could be, or would be asked concerning the conditions, for this portion of work is to be supervised by this entity - see it’s well done, see? Not a change to be made in the manner, save in the close check as is kept on the journal of the VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS whose transaction through this FIRM might cause question, see?

4. (Q) “My father was still there. We were all riding on a train. It seemed to be Southern Railway train. I got out to walk around at the station. I went in to wash my hands. Something urged me to hurry up, but a girl and I thought we had lots of time. When we came out the train was just leaving and we missed it. ‘What will we do with the baggage?’ I asked. ‘Pick it up and carry it, of course,’ she replied. ‘Pick up and carry it through.’ Then we took another train. It seemed to be a subway, and as we did so we saw our Southern Railway train backing into the station. Then I said, ‘Is this the same train, or is it just switching around?’ I asked the conductor to let us out at the next stop so we could get back on the train. We stopped at Pennsylvania Station. I wondered how we would get our Southern train again.” (A) In this there is, through the conditions taking place as regarding certain stocks, the correlation to the subconscious forces of that information as has been given through the various ways and manners as have been presented, and the entity finds that the study should have been made as regarding such information, in the way and manner as has been outlined for the entity, and as same is seen now, in the change as is made by the entity leaving off on certain conditions, were the entity to study the information as has been given as concerning the stock as represented by the train, both that on which the entity was left and on that which the change is made to, the entity will find that when the information is received by self, through the conversation as is seen WITH THIS ENTITY AS GIVEN HERE, the conditions have followed that channel. Just as is seen in another portion of this same dream, when entity is warned that the information as has been given through these sources have not been applied, and for that reason entity finds self in that position or condition wherein there is much fear, or dread, or the expectancy of losses to come to the entity. Then, would the entity gain that correct way and manner as to the way same is to be handled under the existent conditions is to FOLLOW that way as will be and as IS directed through that information obtained through these same channels that is understandable to self, and in that way and manner follow, or do not follow in ANY way save physical, see? That is, that the heeding of the information through the father to the entity, to [900], is to be followed specifically as given, when given in the manner given, or not followed in a haphazard manner. Just as is indicated, as is seen by the entity being called down by one whom is as a criterion for the keeping of books, and the call is as the entity has failed to keep, because of inattention or inactivity along that channel. Again this same condition presented, see, as has been in a different manner. THEN, entity should take all of these. Weigh them well together, and choose that way, that manner in which the actions concerning same shall be directed. Taking then first a full stock of self and position with the office, and the position held in same, and the book as referred to in particular, and THEN the manner as this information is presented, choose the manner of study and of application, for these are RIGHT, and are GIVEN for the edification and for the betterment of the conditions of the individual, mentally, morally and financially, will they be but applied in the way and manner that will be in keeping with that given, and in the manner that it IS given. See?

Dear [900]:-

Just a note to enclose you the reading as gotten this afternoon. I think this is quite an interesting reading, though I don’t know that I can say that I fully understand it. I’m in hopes though it will be worth something to you, especially in regards getting whatever is wrong with your books corrected.

We four here [EC, GC, HLC and GD] have started in to give at least one evening each week to a study of the phenomena as we see it and understand it, and are attempting to record any special facts that we can observe from the study, in the systematic manner that we think we are undertaking it, and I assure you we are finding it quite interesting, and sometimes very surprising when we attempt to put in concrete words the laws that, seemingly, are followed. We are having quite a number of very interesting reports from some of the people we’ve given work for lately; one especially, a physician’s wife [1866]. He seems to have conceded that this has helped when everything else had failed. He is in one of the biggest hospitals in Ohio.

Things seem to have suddenly gotten very active in the real estate game here. Many thousand dollars’ worth of lots changed hands over the week end, and I’m afraid we’re going to have the place we’re living in sold out from under us. We want to get that reading [See 254-28 on 2/18/26] as soon as we can, and if it is possible, in any way, we want to make some sort of deal I think for a piece of property here, for I think a man should make forty or fifty percent on his money, by investing it now and selling sometime during this season even. Do you think it will be at all possible for you to get down sometime within the next three weeks? I don’t know just how soon the service will be started, but the Pennsylvania Railroad is preparing a station on this side, so one will be able to leave new York at nine o’clock of an evening and be in Virginia Beach at seven o’clock the next morning, or leave Virginia Beach at nine o’clock and in New York the next morning at seven.

Let me hear from you whenever you have the opportunity. I’m glad to say I’m feeling a little bit better than I have been for the last week or ten days, but I have very bad discouraging news for the health of my father and mother both. A wire this evening - my father is VERY sick.
