GC: You will have before you the attempt at taking the reading on dreams of [900], on July 6, 1925, in the morning, asking for the greater wisdom and learning in handling psychic force. [See 900-89 Background.] You will please answer the questions I will ask you regarding this.

EC: Yes, we have the conditions relative to same here and find that these have been given. [See 900-89 on 7/7/25.]

(Q) Why at that time was there no response to the suggestion? (A) At that time we find there was not the connection with the cosmic forces in subconscious and the material forces through which same may act, and the physical condition of the body through which same act did not respond, as did not that desire for same act on that necessary to produce the understanding of same. Just as may be illustrated in the sounding board of an instrument. This we find revibrates to that as is sent against same. If of a vibratory rate that produces in the composition that is sounded against, there may be the wooden or the metallic, or the metal, sound of same. The same as we find with a vibratory rate sounded in any room. One in certain lines, condition or place vibrates to same, others do not. Different conditions at different times, presenting different elements and different reasons, as we have given, in how that same may be bended, or reflected, or refraction may take place, either in the individual desiring same, individual obtaining same, or individual through which same is given.

(Q) Were the causes in the physical, mental, or spiritual condition of Edgar Cayce, or were they in the physical, mental and spiritual condition of [900]? (A) Both. Just as given and explained.

(Q) Was it due to the nature of the subject on which the reading was desired, or its manner of acquisition by [900]? (A) As given. Physical conditions in the body, Edgar Cayce, mental conditions in the body, [900], the acquisition and suggestion being only these relative conditions as relate to each.

(Q) Why under any condition will the psychic force refuse to respond to suggestion? (A) In the manner and way as has been given. As we find, there are, to make response in a physical world, certain vibratory forces must be set in motion to produce to those who would obtain same in their plane and sphere conditions made manifest. That that would hinder at any time, either from the desire, the desired, or the action upon same, may hinder, alternate, change, revibrate, mis-apprehension, mis-comprehension, mis-comprehensibility in each and everyone.
