This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of June, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [941], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [877].

[Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, New York. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions that disturb same, [941].

  2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functioning. These are in a manner as to make for a disturbance to some specific organisms, in the sensory system.

  3. But if the causes for a disturbance in the eliminations are removed, and a balancing in the excretory functionings produced so that the balance in the elements is kept normal, much of these tendencies for the inflection in the sensory disturbance will be cleared up. Also those tendencies in portions of the body to show some spots, discolorations at times; at others soreness appearing on limbs, on portions of the body, even the torso.

  4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them physically that cause or produce the disturbing conditions in the physical forces of this body, [941] we are speaking of:

  5. The BLOOD SUPPLY indicates that the elements in the secretions or the gland forces have shown and do show a disturbing factor, producing the activities in the excretory and secretive functioning in portions of the organism. There are disturbances that allow the accumulations of poisons that make for too great a coagulation, as in the sensory forces, as well as in the organisms; producing a tendency for crystallization about tendons in the limbs, the arms. These make for those heavinesses that occur, and tendency towards the disturbing conditions that arise from same.

  6. As to the NERVOUS FORCES of the body, we find there are incoordinations between the sympathetic and vegetative or the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous forces. Especially are these indicated in the axes of the 4th lumbar and sacral area, in the brachial or 1st and 2nd dorsal area, and through those plexus of the pneumogastric and hypogastric as they make for their connection to the vagus nerve in the 3rd and 4th cervical center.

  7. These incoordinations at periods, as indicated, make for the greater disturbances to the body in their reaction over the system.

  8. And if those centers will be corrected in this body, also the activity of the glands that are lacking in their functioning, the metabolism of the blood supply, of the nervous forces, of the activative forces through the secretive and excretory functionings of the organs, it will relieve much of that which has set itself rather in the present as the attending constitutional disturbances to the organs of the body in relationships to the physical functioning.

  9. In the functioning of the ORGANS THEMSELVES, as indicated, there is more of a reflex activity from the disturbances in the eliminations and the manner in which the assimilations are carried on under the stress and strain of disturbing factors in the glandular reaction.

  10. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions, as we find, there would be the necessity of not only taking internally that which would make for a correction in the assimilations, but of relieving those distresses in specific centers as we have indicated. The relieving of such centers will aid in making the correct activity of that taken internally for the lacteal ducts, the adrenal reaction and the thyroid, and through the caecum and the ileum reactions in their various plexus, through their assimilated forces.

  11. Hence, we would begin rather as this:

  12. First, we would have the deep manipulations as would be OSTEOPATHICALLY given; or chiropractically provided there is the massage to make for the coordination of the adjusted areas with the other plexus along the cerebrospinal system.

  13. The specific centers are the 4th lumbar, 9th dorsal, 3rd and 2nd dorsal, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cervical; though using, of course, the arms and the limbs as leverage for the muscular forces so that we may relax the whole body.

  14. These treatments we would take in the beginning three times each week, until fifteen to eighteen are taken. Then rest a week, and then begin again with treatments twice a week until ten to twelve are taken. Then rest two weeks, and then take one each week until eight to ten more are taken. This should cover the period for this mode of application.

  15. After the first week of such manipulative forces that should be making for corrections and relaxations, we would begin with a compound prepared in this way and manner:

  16. To 1 ounce of Strained Honey add 2 ounces of Distilled Water. Let same come to a boil. Then strain, and while the solution is warm (not hot or boiling, but warm), add - in the ORDER named:

Essence of Wild Ginseng…1/2 ounce, Fusion of Indian Turnip…1/4 ounce, Tincture of Stillingia…1/2 ounce, Essence of Wild Ginger…1/4 ounce, Grain Alcohol (90 or 89% proof)…1 1/2 ounces.

Shake the solution together before the dose is taken, which would be half a teaspoonful before each meal.

  1. The activity of each of these upon the organs of the system is to eliminate the congestions through the abdominal area, in the colon, and - with the stimulation along the cerebrospinal centers as indicated - alleviate those disturbing factors for this body.

  2. In the matter of the diet, let this be rather as an outline; though, to be sure, this is not ALL that may be taken:

  3. Mornings - citrus fruit juices should comprise the better part of the meal.

  4. Noons - vegetables should be the greater portion of this meal, raw and fresh. These may be taken as a salad, and include such as lettuce, celery, tomatoes, radish, carrots, spinach, mustard, peppers, onions, etc. These should all be taken raw.

  5. Preferably in the late afternoon (rather than evening or night), some red wine may be taken (ONLY RED wine) with very heavy black or brown bread, as a stimulant.

  6. Evenings - a well-balanced meal of cooked vegetables. No red meats at ANY time. If meats are taken at all, they should be of such as lamb, fowl or wild game - and always broiled or roasted; NOT fried. Not any great quantity ever of shell fish; this tends to make for an activity upon the thyroids through the activity of the excess iodine as to upset the potassium activities in the system. However, broiled mackerel or sturgeon roe or the like may be taken occasionally.

  7. Do these, and being consistent with the general activities of the body, we will make for a much nearer NORMAL reaction in this body; relieving it of many of those conditions that disturb in other areas, [941].

  8. Do that.

  9. Ready for questions.

  10. We are through for the present.
