This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [987], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will give the physical conditions of this body at the present time, with suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [987]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, there are a great many changes in the general physical forces of the body since we had same here. Some are well. Acute conditions have arisen as to the activities in the kidneys, that are not good. For there is the tendency for pus accumulation in the kidney. This causes an irritation to the nerves of the blood supply and the lymph circulation.

4. Thus the puffs under the eyes, blotches on various portions of the body.

5. Unless corrected, these will grow to become more serious.

6. We would begin first with the application of Glyco-Thymoline Packs for at least an hour each day, for five days in succession, over the kidney area. Use at least three thicknesses of cotton cloth saturated with Glyco-Thymoline. Over this Pack use salt heat - not just a bag of heated salt, but sew the salt into a container - quilted, as it were. Heat this in the oven and apply over the Glyco-Thymoline Pack, instead of using an electric pad. Preferably use iodized salt; not so hot as to burn, but let the body lie upon or over the Pack.

7. After the five days, leave off. Then the next day, or day after leaving off the Packs, begin taking each day half an ounce of Watermelon Seed Tea. Cut or grind a level teaspoonful of watermelon seed (such as would be obtained from a seed store, or the like) and pour a cup of boiling water over same, or put the seed in a cup and fill with boiling water. Cover and let stand for thirty minutes.

Strain off and take about a half of this one day, and the other half the next day, see? Then prepare another quantity and take this for three days. Then leave off. Watch results.

8. In the diet change more to such foods as the raw vegetables; carrots, lettuce, celery, water cress, all of those - mustard also, the green mustard, you see, used with an oil dressing. Prepare at other times with gelatin, preferable lemon Jello. At least five days out of each week have a meal of raw vegetables prepared in some form for the body.

9. Keep away from meats, wines, any form of drinks made with carbonated waters.

10. Doing these, we will find great improvement.

11. Ready for questions.

“Had flu - ‘frozen kidneys’, a sprained wrist - and final exams all at once! In spite of these, went to classes every afternoon and evening. Am taking trig, analytic geometry and calculus at Columbia. In my life reading [987-2] - 1936 - you told me I would do well with ‘numbers and charts’ and here I am doing nothing but plotting sine waves and ‘whatnots’.

“Why I am doing all this is a mystery - but I know I MUST. Followed your directions and oh goodness! I’m so much better! It’s a different world - and I like tea made from watermelon seeds.

“You don’t know how grateful I am. You are a lamb and I just adore you!

R3. 10/12/54 Miss Mary Tayloe Gwathmey visited A.R.E. Va. Beach Study Group and told us that her friend Mrs. [987] was becoming a second Emmet Fox - “Studies - studies. For 2 years now she has been at the Unity School of Christianity, Lee Summit, Mo.”

R4. 3/15/62 Mrs. [987] visited A.R.E. and looked the picture of health; said she had been “going strong” all these years, with no serious health problem. She had studied at the R.C.A. Institute of Electronics and at Columbia University in N.Y.C. In 1953 she studied at the Carl Jung Institute in Zurich; in 1955 she went to the Isle of Man and studied Hypnology with Dr. Alexander Cannon. In Vienna, in 1956, she studied Logotherapy and Existentialism with Dr. Viktor Frankl; and the following year she attended the Sorbonne in Paris. She has been a practicing psychologist in … and has lectured on Cosmology, Psychology and Religion, Hypnosis and Extrasensory Perception.
