This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of March, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [997], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, L.I. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [997].

  2. As we find, there are disturbing conditions that arise first in the eliminating system and thus affecting through pressures upon the system the assimilating and digestive systems.

  3. These as we find taken in time, and the proper precautions taken as well as the proper adjustments made for the disturbances, may be eliminated.

  4. Otherwise, there may develop such an inflammatory force from sediments as to be very detrimental - in the form of accumulations that hinder in the activity of a portion of the liver, upon certain characters of foods that are taken in the system.

  5. And through such irritation distresses would be caused that might become very detrimental to the better influences of the body.

  6. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [997] we are speaking of:

  7. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this indicates the character of toxic forces through the poor or improper eliminations, and the incoordination between the eliminating systems.

  8. Hence we find those periods of dizziness, sometimes a little nausea and at others rather more acute conditions in the right area of the lower digestive system; and the general achey conditions as concur - at times, not always; the irritations which arise that seem to aggravate - or all conditions surrounding same seem to become disturbances, rather than there being the optimistic outlook that is the greater natural reaction of the body physically and mentally.

  9. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, here we find, as indicated, through pressures created by the activities, an incoordination between the deep circulatory forces or the cerebrospinal and the vegetative or sympathetic nerve systems.

  10. This is especially indicated in the lower lumbar, 9th dorsal, and in the lower secondary cardiac plexus area - 4th and 5th dorsal.

  11. These are as disturbances in the ganglia that supply impulses for activity to the DRAINING as it were from the lower digestive force, or system, or through the area from the duodenum to the jejunum or the upper or smaller intestinal system.

  12. Hence we find this upsetting, this tendency for the feeling of lack of digestive forces or active forces in the system.

  13. AS TO THE ACTIVITY UPON THE ORGANS, we find, as indicated, these are rather reflex in the present, but might become more disturbing and harder to deal with - unless some precautionary and protective measures are taken in the present.

  14. THEN, AS WE FIND, THESE WOULD BE RATHER SUGGESTED AS THE OUTLINE: First as related to diet, as related to activities - as for the corrective measures, and for that to be administered in the form of corrective measures.

  15. FIRST: Do not take but very seldom and very little of fats - as of butter, cheese or the like.

  16. Do not take white bread, or any quantities of sweets as a part of the diet.

  17. Rather have a well-balanced diet, but leaving out those properties as just indicated.

  18. ALSO we would use Alcaroid as an assistant for digestion at least twice each day. This would be most beneficial. We would take about a quarter teaspoonful about fifteen to twenty minutes after the morning and evening meals. This will not only keep down gas but will tend to make for better assimilations through the system.

  19. WE WOULD AID these conditions also by proper - yet general but specific - OSTEOPATHIC ADJUSTMENTS in the upper dorsal, through the 9th dorsal, and coordinating the cervical AND lumbar area with the adjustments. With such applications or adjustments we would tend to EMPTY the gall duct as well as the stomach proper and the activities of the nerve impulses to the activity of the duodenum.

  20. These adjustments and treatments OSTEOPATHICALLY we would take consistently for a period of three to four weeks, then have a rest period from same of a week or ten days; then have them every other day or every third day for another period of two and a half to three weeks.

  21. Doing these - with the digestive fluids aided, and the activities as related to the diet and the precautions taken - we should bring the much nearer to normal conditions for the body.

  22. Ready for questions.

  23. We are through for the present.
