This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of November, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1010], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:35 to 3:40 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Alabama.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1010].

3. Conditions are not good at all.

4. As we find, there is the necessity of administering, - under the direction of a physician, - that as may aid in keeping the blood from the heart. To equalize the circulation, we find that Digital, instead of Digitalis, or the new derivative from Digitalis - Cioldedine (?) [See 4/21/44 ltr. under 1010-22, Par. R1 in re this medicine.] - may be administered in such a way as to aid. This, of course (the new derivative), may be given internally or intravenously.

5. These, as we find, should quiet the body.

6. Then, one half grain of Calcidin, should the body respond, should aid in clearing the tendency for the choking through the lungs; and, of course, keeping the eliminations, - these by colonics when practical; keeping the feet warm, - and these will bring the better forces for the body.

7. But do it quick.

8. (Q) Is herb tea beneficial? (A) It’s very good as an eliminant, or Innerclean [Inner Clean], but with either of these it will be necessary to use, for the present, the colonics also.

R1. 12/4/42 Reports (letter) from Mrs. [1010]:

1st Check reading [1010-18] Oct 28 - ‘42:

Wasn’t able to get appliance for irrigations as suggested for over two weeks - followed other suggestions, such as chiropractic treatments.

Bought Radio-Active Appliance as suggested.

The battery of same not marked - neg. black - positive - Red - as directions called for, neither pole was marked - I used it. They made me very NERVOUS head-ache - wakeful.

We wrote to them telling them that they were not marked. Rec. ans. that it made no difference which pole we used as neg. or positive as long as used same one every time.

We used Ap. again, it shot my Blood pressure up from 150 to 200 - Had to call in physician - as had an attack (seems heart).

On Nov. 22 - another check reading - Suggested giving derivative of Digital - had two physicians, neither one would give it saying blood pressure too high. Took all the rest of treatment suggested.

Meantime rec. card from A.R.A. Co. saying Mr. Cayce said return bat. for correction. Of course that took up time. Rec. it Dec. 1st. Dr’s had to give me nembutal to make me sleep - (Hate to take it altho no real dope in it)

Am taking A.R.A. [Radio-Active Appliance] 1st - 2nd - 3rd rested much better took it for one hour about. After about twenty min. breakout in perspiration, when get jerky in ankle, plates on, remove the plates. The Radio Active Appliance is doing me good - But believe it nearly killed me, when used wrong. On acct. of the carelessness of the lady who makes them. Really I thot I was passing. Grew cold from feet up, sinking spell, Mr. [1112] become so frightened, he called me back, then he called a neighbor in. He got doctor after a long time - they ALL were out or operating.

You see on acct. of clot near heart, the wrong circuit, caused the high B.P. and NEARLY DEATH. I haven’t had doctor since as the first one gave me med. to lower blood P. and that made me worse. Also the tab. to quiet me - made me worse, so called another one twenty four hrs. later. First one Dr. Roan, second one Dr. Bragg - he stopped me from all med. but nembutal only, when needed, as said I MUST have rest and sleep. Have been in bed, unable to take irrigations until 4th of Dec. - NOT SATISFACTORY. Take another one today. Took 1 teaspoon of castoria, 2 milk-mag. this A.M. Not feeling so good to day - but good yesterday. Pain over heart most of times but the pain in muscles around left lung - arms - about gone.

Am lying flat on back writing this, have been so busy and so sick all summer that - just get up energy to write. Have over worked my old body - no help for four months - and it seemed had more people coming for help than ever. I do a lot for no PAY (HERE).

Get calls every day - some come for me to put my hands on them and tell them what to do. Am glad to have them do that. I know how hard it would be for Mr. [1112] with out me, it would mean breaking up his home - no one who really CARES what he does - or how he would live. So wish to stay until I can be no further service to anyone on earth. Would be glad TO GO otherwise. Rec. letter from [1100]s - lovely couple. Much love to all the family.

R2. 12/30/42 [1010]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce and family

I really believe I am coming back to normal, rather shaky this morning, for only four hours sleep last nite. The doctor told me to take nembutal, as I must get the required amount of sleep, seven or eight hours per twenty four. But do hate to take any thing that produces unnatural sleep. But that is the only way the heart gets any rest.

Dr. Bragg put me under Cardiacphotograph or cardiacgraph. He says the obstruction is hardening of aorta or heart arteries - between lungs. No cure that they know of. But YOU as spokesman - GOD the HEALER, I can get well or very much better.

I will never be able to work as I used to do - from five to nine hours per day, but can let “the SPIRIT shine THRU” or “PUT THE SPIRIT IN ACTION”. Which is the meaning of “TRUTH”.

I thank you and Mrs. Cayce for my valuable readings. Have enjoyed the book There is a River more than I can say. And A Search for God is the truest expression of God’s laws - and how to follow them. How to be in Unity with All Peoples, I read it and meditate over it - during my hour under Radio-Active Ap. Am sending money for you to send five [books, TIR] and have a list of different study classes and ministries (ministers) in different Churches. Some as can raise the money to buy them. I do not want my name to be mentioned at all. Don’t you think that if you would enclose a slip asking them to report directly with the Association and (put the price 1.00 on it,) any comment they wish to make, or questions to be asked. I do wish this BOOK could be placed in every family of children, it would explain life to them, in such a beautiful way. I love it. There is a River, is the truth of you, but only 1/116 of the things you have done the best part is where Hugh Lynn, said lets be just ourselves.

R3. 1/15/43 Letter:

“Am suffering with awful headaches all over head, very severe along about 4 to 8 p. m., then take a nembutal the Dr. says to take, if I do not take it sleep the first two or three hours, then lay awake the rest of the night. I lay quiet, but the Radio-Active Appliance seems to relax, but just can’t sleep, and I believe the nembutal harms me. Dr. says it is not habit forming, and no dope in it, but just the same know it is harmful to arteries and heart - Give it as soon as possible. Am up more than usual. Dr. found high blood pressure 200 four weeks later 160, and put me under cardiac-graph and says hardening of arteries in heart, as well as angina, but he was surprised to see the gain I had made when they looked for me to pass out. That was owing to me following your suggestions. I take an enema or (?) every nite, and Innerclean nearly every day, so really am clean inside.”

1. What is cause of my awful headaches every day now?
2. Does honey or tea cause high blood pressure?
3. Dr. Bragg gives me “nembutal” to make me sleep. Does it harm me?
4. He says it is hardening of arteries of heart instead of of clot; it is true?
5. What causes sound in left side of chest - “pott-pott” almost constantly at night?
6. After taking three rounds of four of Radio Active Appliance (two days between) it made me nervous and jerky. How often should I take them? (I have missed 4 days.)
