GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the further improvement of same, and will answer the questions I will ask you regarding same.
-
EC: Yes. In many ways we find the conditions show improvements, yet apparently there are other conditions arising - and that have arisen in the body - that cause undue alarm, especially in the application of the manipulations with the system in the condition from medicinal properties given so that other elemental conditions become involved; such as the filling up, or the inability of the body to swallow properly, or a fullness in the throat, larynx - and the body feels a burning sensation produced then from the lack of assimilation in the system from properties given, see? Then as the condition has been reduced or relieved in the eliminating, and as assimilation is being overcrowded, then there is seen - unless these are made to balance - these would produce a reaction of more to be eliminated than the system would be able to handle without undue stress put on the body. Hence we will find that by cutting down on medicinal properties as administered, and only that of the massage, the manipulation and especially of light rays applied to the cerebro-spinal system, these will produce a better assimilation by the gentle massage or neuropathic massage downward on the spine following such application of lights. Keep those properties for massage as has been given.
-
Let the diet be that only as is easily assimilated, but strengthening. When stimulants are given (and these may be in the form of any alcoholic beverage that is of the mild enough nature to produce the proper digestion within the body), Spirits Frumenti with egg would be well for the body, but BURN the Spirits Frumenti before mixing with the egg and milk, see? Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What causes dryness and thickness at root of tongue and what should be done for it? (A) This may be reduced by the manipulation or by the application of cold at the throat or at the back of neck, though keep massage following same. We are through for the present.

R1. 2/17/28 EC’s ltr. to [1100]:
Dear Mrs. [1100]:
Just a note to enclose the reading gotten this morning. We arrived home night before last. I haven’t had the time to get straightened out but will try and write you all as soon as I have the opportunity. I was on my way before Mrs. Priester had the opportunity to transcribe the first reading, [See 1010-2 on 2/8/28] and we were considerably on the go until we landed here. I certainly am in hopes Mother [1010] gets along nicely. Please remember us to her and we will appreciate it if you will let us hear from you from day to day as to how she gets along. Please assure her that we are all only too glad to try and be of help whenever possible, and want her to call on us whenever she would like to.
With kindest personal regards from all to all,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce [EC:GD]
R2. 2/22/28 Mrs. [1100]‘s letter: “We rec’d both the readings for Mrs. [1010] and want to tell you how happy we were to get them. She is getting along fine, and says that she knows she wouldn’t be here, now, if it hadn’t been for your readings.
“I knew nothing about neuropathical massages but as she did, I followed her advice and have given her 3 every day since she was taken sick. She came very near passing into a state of coma several times but fortunately did not. She sits up a little each day now and think she will be able to stay up in another week.
“We were sorry to have to call you and disturb your little vacation but as she was so very sick and we didn’t know what to do, something had to be done. Certainly would never have known about the treatment suggested in the reading.
“I still want to get a reading whenever you can get around to it, Mr. Cayce, but take all the sick folks first. The trouble I was having disappeared when I started taking care of Mrs. [1010], proving that when we are trying to help others we forget our own troubles.
“Again thanking you, in behalf of Mr. [1112], Mrs. [1010] and myself, I am sincerely,” [1100]
R3. 3/10/28 [1010]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I am a great deal better but far from well. Elimination from liver is not right, as have pains thru liver at times and stools are almost white. Pains in legs, especially the left one, and black spots the size of hickory nuts appear on left leg from the knee down to ankle and pain me pretty much.
Am following out your instructions to the letter. Am able to sit up only a short time. Sleep well, but sweat most all the time, except when I have a temperature.
Do you think I should have another reading? If so, please send it as soon as possible.
