This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of December, 1935, in accordance with request made by the wife - Mrs. [1175], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [257].

Medical Center, Time of Reading Harkness Pavilion, 3:25 to 3:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Room …, New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the conditions here - [1085].

2. Now, as we find, there are those conditions that are of the malignant nature.

3. The use of those applications which have been made should, unless of the nature that the destruction of tissue makes for a greater strain upon the system, ease the condition and prolong the life of the body.

4. If this condition had been taken, or corrective measures begun, when there were not such advanced stages, changes might have been suggested. But under the existent conditions, to alter or to change - unless there is a condition that arises that is not seen in the present - would be bad now.

5. As we find, then, we would continue at least one to two more of such treatments.

6. And then, if the body responds from the radial activity of the high vibrations in the system, so as to overcome conditions, we may have opportunities for giving those suggestions that might be helpful.

7. If these destroy tissue, then these will only make for greater irritation.

8. But if there is not the destruction of the bacilli that is destructive, then there will be the greater continuation of the distresses; necessitating that there be given the sedatives in such measures or to such an extent as to make for the easing of the pain.

9. All in all, then, continue as has already been outlined.

10. For their diagnosis and prognosis, as we find, are correct. [Cancer?]

11. Do that.

13. (Q) How can he be kept from suffering, mental and physical? (A) Only as has been indicated, and as has been outlined as best.

14. (Q) Is it best to keep him in the hospital, or bring him home? (A) As has been indicated.

15. (Q) What do you see as being the cause of his condition? (A) As has just been given.

16. (Q) Any other advice? (A) Just be patient; just give those applications that will make for as much bodily ease as is possible under the existent conditions.

R1. 12/31/35 Wife [1175]‘s letter: “I thank you for your prompt reply, clear reading and kind letter. My husband is improving ‘beyond expectation’ according to the doctor and it makes my mind easier to know it is agreed they are meeting his case in the best manner known at present. Later, I think I may ask for another reading to see if any suggestions can be made.”

R2. 2/6/36 Dr. [1605]‘s letter: “Mrs. [1175] reported to me that she is well satisfied with your instructions and advice [for her husband].”

R3. 2/10/36 Wife [1175]‘s letter: “Mr. [1085] improved under treatment at the hospital and is now home. Will you kindly give me another reading about his health? He is greatly discouraged. Do you think it would help if I could get him away to Atlantic City for a week? He does not know anything about the cause of his illness and of course must be shielded from all knowledge of it.”
