This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of January, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self over phone - Mrs. [1100], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1100].

2. Now, while we find there are improved conditions in many respects, there is still much to be desired in resistances necessary to be builded and the reduction of those conditions from which the infectious forces arise that create temperature for the body - from inflammatory condition through the liver, the circulatory system and through the lungs themselves.

3. As we would find, it would be well if the body would use the eighth grain Animated Ash each day and the Ultra-Violet Ray after same.

4. Preferably in the ultra-violet use the Quartz Mercury Light rather than the Carbon. This is deeper and for deeper therapy, and for the body will require that it be a much greater distance from the body, and that there be not too long a period of the treatments.

5. These as we find, with the precautions that have been indicated, would be the preferable activities for the body in the present.

6. One-eighth grain of the Ash once a day. This taken about ten minutes before the Violet Ray is taken. Do not take same in the capsule. Empty same upon the tongue and with a small quantity of water drink or wash same down.

7. Keep the other precautions as indicated and we should find not only should these eliminate but aid in ridding the system of the disturbing conditions and build up the body.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) How long should she continue the use of the Ash with the Light? (A) Until there’s lack of temperature.

10. (Q) Where should the Light be applied? (A) Over the lung and liver area from the back, or over the central portion of same on the 4th dorsal center. This of course extends from the upper - or portion of the cervical and to the 9th, 10th and 11th dorsal.

11. (Q) Why does the temperature continue to arise each evening? (A) As has just been indicated, from infection.

12. (Q) Would the Florida climate be advisable when I get rid of the temperature? (A) Florida climate would be very good if the body would keep in the sun, but not too much in the sun at first - rather the shaded portions at times.

13. (Q) Any other advice for the body? (A) These we would do in the present. Baths, too, in the Florida climate or area would be well - if this is taken; and this would necessitate preferably the west coast rather than the east - or Clearwater, or the like.

14. We are through for the present.

R1. 1/6/37 Requesting 470-17 for husband: “The rdg. rec’d, also the Animated Ash, and I surely want to thank you for what you have done. We, or rather Dr. Thompson, got a violet ray machine out to us yesterday and I had my first treatment last evening. Believe, with just a few more, I am going to be alright, as I am feeling quite a bit better and stronger… I sit up a bit each day and then lie down again. Have a splendid nurse and it’s a shame that she cannot be told about the source of our information, etc., but of course we have to protect Dr. Thompson (John R. Thompson, D.O.) if possible.”

(1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition?

Perfectly.

(2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly?

Temperature, congestion in lung bronchials and liver. Severe “catch” under shoulder which was very persistent and extreme weakness.

(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition?

Reading was obtained before he had a chance to analyze condition, other than just saying it was the “flu”.

(4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined?

As closely as possible.

(5) For how long?

As long as specified.

(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted?

Conditions described cleared up entirely, leaving me feeling better than I had for some time.
