GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer any questions I may ask you regarding same.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
Now, we find there are specific conditions that bring distresses in an unseemly manner to the better physical functioning of the body. While there are not a great deal of disturbing forces at the present time, these conditions do bring distress or dis-ease to the body, and - allowed to remain without proper attention - would gradually build that in the system that would produce organic conditions, or a general debilitation in such a manner as to become chronic conditions.
-
Now, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [1100] we are speaking of. First:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find abundant in quantity. In the circulation of same there are hindrances in the way that same affects various portions of the system. Hence not the character of the blood supply, but the manner of its circulation in different parts of the body, hindered by those specific conditions existent in the system.
-
In the elements and constituents of the blood itself, the pressure as produced is changeable. Not above normal always, nor not normal always - but a varied condition. Hence there are times when the circulation to the extremities is poor. Hence the condition that exists in lower limbs and feet, and in hands and arms and head; that is, the hot and cold flushes are followed by these hindrances, when cold feet, cold hands, are the result. Following such conditions there are elements in the blood that give the evidence of a disturbed circulation.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this very good in many respects, save where there are specific obstructions in impulses from various ganglia that affect directly impulses in circulation; while muscular contraction as to circulation not as much disturbed as would be found in some instances where the disturbance is as in this body, yet sufficient is this to prevent the proper getting away - is it were - of used tissue in the system; for, as we see, there is the continual building up and breaking down of tissue in the body, as the body is used in the mere act of expressing or manifesting itself as to the usages of the same, and the varied conditions present themselves in the body. Hence we find in the brachial plexus in the 4th and 5th and 6th dorsal those obstructions that prevent the circulation, or impulses of circulation, to the head - and, sympathetically, to all of locomotary centers. Hence we find at times that flush to the face, yet not a normal condition - and in the scalp, in the face, in neck, shoulders, the capillary circulation - becoming slowed - leaves drosses, ashes - as it were - or improper drained tissue. Hence the condition in scalp, in the head, in the neck and upper portions of the body.
-
The cause, the conditions producing same - in times back there was the invading in the system of those bacilli that caused especial action in the tissue as governs the upper portions of body, or circulation to the nasal cavity, to throat, and the bronchials. This left, as it were, that tissue - or in the form of not exactly scar tissue, but more of a lesion tissue - that brings a tingling sensation to bronchials, as to produce a continued inclination for cough; for at times when the cycle of change comes to the circulation in the body, especially to the head and to the organs of the sensory system as located, sympathetically the system takes it up, and we have a re-occurrence of too much lymph thrown to the various organs. Hence cold, apparently, is easily taken; yet it’s not always cold, even when the secretions from the nose are troublesome - or of spittle, or the excretions thrown from the throat - not always an indication of cold. An overflow of the mucus-producing condition in system attempting to meet the needs of the system to bring about a correlation of conditions and a more perfect coordination of circulation, through improper nerve impulse.
-
IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, as we find, those of the sensory system meting - and meted out - those conditions as come reflexly from specific conditions existent in the upper dorsal region.
-
Throat and bronchials show the effect of irritation.
-
Lungs good.
-
Heart’s action irregular, though not an abnormal condition when we condition when we consider that the secondary cardiac and the brachial plexus - as governs the respiratory system - are disturbed in their reaction and action in the system. Hence we find at times a sudden filling up of the cardiac end of the stomach, and food seems to not digest. It (the condition) a reflex and not an indigestion, though at times it may prevent PROPER digestion.
-
In the functioning of the digestive system, only reflexly do we find disturbances.
-
Liver, hepatic circulation, all - save as as reflex conditions as occur - very good.
-
BEWARE of contaminated waters, or any tendency to bring temperature or fevers to the body, and keep the body AWAY from CONTAGION of any nature, especially until corrections are made osteopathically of that condition existent in the upper dorsal and lower cervical region.
-
Using as an antiseptic inhalants that will clarify conditions in bronchials and nasal cavity, so that - with the proper incentives thrown off from the brachial centers, and those impulses in the upper dorsal and lower cervicals - these may bring about normal corrections for the body.
-
For the conditions as exist in scalp, with the correction of the general condition MUCH of this will disappear; yet it would be well to use those properties as are found in the pure white vaseline (as prepared by the Chesebrough corporation), and add that CLEANSING solution - when used - of a forty percent (40%) solution of alcohol, for a cleanser, see? Wash scalp with any good tar soap, then cleanse same with the alcohol, massaging same thoroughly in the scalp - then massaging the vaseline, very small quantity, into the scalp following same, see?
-
At least thirteen adjustments and manipulations should be given; for adjustments as well as manipulations should be accorded to bring the proper conditions for the system.
-
There needs be little change made in the dietetics for the body, for these are very good.
-
Do that. Ready for questions.
-
(After pause) We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. She had indicated that her husband was being transferred to …, Pa. Also she had asked: “In getting a dream interpretation, does the whole dream have to be repeated to you, while you’re in the trance or does the person just mention the particular dream?”
R2. 3/16/28 EC’s letter to Mrs. [1100]:
My dear Mrs. [1100]:-
We enclose herewith the reading that was gotten, and I am in hopes that you will carry out the suggestions given for the correction of conditions - or better still, you’d better come down and let our doctor do it!
We are glad to know you will be nearer to us, if it brings the possibility of your dropping in to see us more often - though I feel quite sure there are a number of people in Birmingham that hated to see you leave. We are hoping that you will be as nicely situated as you were in Birmingham, and I’m sure you will have about you just another such appreciative bunch of friends.
I just came back from our meeting in Chicago - had a very nice meeting. We are hoping to soon get started with the building here.
We’ll appreciate it if you all will let us hear from you whenever you have the opportunity; we hope you will arrange to spend many week-ends or some time at our beach.
With kindest personal regards from all to you both, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce [EC:GD]
P.S. About the dreams. It is necessary that we have the date and where the dream was had, and a sufficient outline of same to separate it from others; for I feel sure, from information in readings, that that we call a mental process keeps right on with its experiences while the physical body rests in what we call sleep.
R3. 3/29/28 “Rec’d the reading - am very much pleased as it describes my condition very accurately, and I intend to follow out suggestions very carefully.”
R4. 4/18/28 She requested Ck. Physical for husband, Mr. [470], saying: “Fortunately, I found a very good osteopath here and am getting my treatments as suggested. Am feeling lots better, only I still have fermentation of my food quite badly, at times. Am sure it will clear up as soon as the other trouble does.
“Some sort of inhalant is suggested in my reading, what would you or Dr. House suggest?”
R5. 4/30/28 “Evidently you were surprised to get my wire this afternoon for a reading but as I need one quite badly thought I had better wire.
“Got along splendidly for about 2 weeks after starting my osteopathic treatments and then all of a sudden took what I thought to be a terrible cold, and can’t seem to feel alright any more.
“Every bit of food I try to take ferments terribly and I have to vomit before I can get any relief. Haven’t tried to eat much of anything but fruit, occasionally vegetables or buttermilk, but it all acts just the same.
“The heart’s action seems to be very slow as I have no desire to move around and you know that isn’t like me at all… I know you will do what you can, and I thank you for always being so kind to Mr. [470] and myself.”

B2. 2/22/28 Reporting on rdgs. for friend Mr. [1010]: “The trouble I was having disappeared when I started taking care of Mrs. [1010], proving that when we are trying to help others we forget our own troubles.”
B3. 2/25/28 She obtained a Physical Rdg. for Mrs. [2263].
B4. 3/5/28 She requested her own Physical Rdg., saying: “What will cure the existing scalp trouble? My scalp has bothered me for several years and nothing seems to do it any good. Am afraid I will be bald if it keeps on as it is now.”
