This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of January, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1100], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Michigan.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
Now as we find, while conditions are a bit upsetting, there is a great improvement in the general physical forces of the body. The draining of the gall duct has been very well.
-
The reactions not having as yet settled, however, and there being some strep in the blood stream, WITH the foods that make for a disturbing condition in assimilation there tends to be the rise yet of temperature.
-
As we find, the conditions which exist in the muscular forces of the arm, as well as the heavy, dizzy feelings that come, and hot and cold sensations, arise from the lack of the eliminations of the poisons and toxic forces from the system.
-
We would continue, then, with the liquid and semi-liquid foods and no fats of any appreciable amount. Not too great a quantity of butter or of fats of any nature, and no fried foods.
-
Cereals, - as whole wheat, as the wheat and barley as a cooked cereal (or Maltex); the dry cereals as the whole wheat or the corn and the combinations, with milk or cream; or any of these natures would be very well.
-
Citrus fruit juices at other periods, or vegetable juices. Peas or beans, fish, fowl or lamb, - these would become a part of the diet gradually.
-
And take consistently the Eno Salt of mornings before any meal is taken. This would be taken consistently, - not too great a quantity; level to a heaping teaspoonful, dependent upon the amount necessary to make for the more perfect eliminations.
-
And it would be well that there be occasionally still the manipulative forces; stimulating more specifically those centers or ganglia in the dorsal and cervical that supply the impulse for the activity of drainages from the liver and the gall duct, the pancreas and spleen areas. These are specific; to be sure coordinating the lumbar axis and 9th dorsal with same. Plenty of the drainages also from all of the vagus centers to the head and neck, see?
-
These, though, if they are kept in this manner, - and being precautious that there are not drafts or cold or wet feet or the like, the body SHOULD now continue to keep on the improve.
-
If it is practical for climatic changes for a little while especially, or through the damp, foggy weather in this particular vicinity, it would be well.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Will a trip to Houston, Texas at this time prove beneficial? (A) This as we find would be very helpful, just so the precautions are taken in changes and enroute, and that there is not a cold or exposure that causes any undue congestion. This would be very well.
-
(Q) The gall duct, then, has been drained sufficiently? (A) As indicated, this needs rather now the purifying effect of such as may be had from the use of Eno Salt consistently; that is, for a period of ten days, leaving off for three to four days, and then taken for another ten days or two weeks, another rest for three to four to five days, and then another period of taking same. This is a FRUIT salt, and not active as minerals, or even vegetables, upon the system.
-
(Q) Just what foods are classed as semi-liquids? (A) As indicated, cereals, milks or combinations of the dried milks with cereals, vegetables and vegetable juices; broths and the like - just so there are not too much fats or greases in same. Only sufficient to make same palatable.
-
(Q) About how long should I continue on semi-liquids? (A) Until at least there is the relief from any contraction of the conditions in the system from the neuritic reactions.
-
(Q) Are there any foods that should be avoided at all times? (A) As indicated, those of too much fats or fried foods.
-
(Q) What has caused the strep in the blood stream? (A) The clogging of the gall duct - and its effect upon the liver.
-
(Q) Any further advice for the body? (A) These we would do in the present.
Well to keep the Radio-Active Appliance occasionally, for better rest and better equalization of the system, see?
- We are through for the present.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 2/4/39 “Well, I arrived down here (…, Tex.) on Tuesday and do not believe I have had any excess temperature since that day…
“If I continue to improve, expect to go back about the end of the month. I thank God every day, Mr. Cayce, for being privileged to have His help thru you and I appreciate deeply your generous sharing of that ability.”
R2. 2/26/39 She wired for husband’s Ck. Physical, 470-24.
R3. 3/6/39 “I am feeling quite well again, for which I am very thankful. The temperature is remaining down at the normal level, quite consistently now. Only once or twice has it tried to go slightly above normal and that was when I was overtired… Have interested another osteopathic physician here, in the work, since returning from Texas. He is a school-mate of the doctor in Houston and a very fine osteopath: Dr. Harry F. Schaffer.”
R4. 3/10/39 See 1100-23. She phoned saying the temperature had risen again and there must still be a source of infection.

B2. 1/20/39 “Here I am begging for help again. I remained on the liquid and semi-liquid diet during the time the gall duct was being drained, which was about a week… I ate some solid food and the temperature came back, and I immediately got back on liquids, but am still running temperature… Dr. Thompson’s father is quite ill so he had to go home… Don’t know if I should go to another osteopath or not, or if I should continue working on the gall duct.”
