GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1100]; this we have had before, you see.
-
As we find, conditions in the main are better than the last we had same here. There are, of course, those tendencies and some warnings which would bring about or make for bettered conditions in the body. The variations which have existed in the altitude have caused those tendencies for an engorgement of the circulation between heart and lungs and between the liver and the heart. There is not as yet, though, any organic heart disorder. The aorta artery is engorged. This, as we find, should then prevent the body from having too violent exercise as there are changes in the altitude, but we would find that walking as an exercise should be taken by the body each morning early with the deep breathing. If there isn’t more than a block or five blocks walked, do have this early and when taking these do breathe deeply. Take the time for the exercise of the arms at such times. Not that there needs to be the waving of the arms but a regular lifting in unison with the step, so that there is the bringing of coordination between lungs, heart and liver and we will improve the conditions much. We would also indicate that there should be more regular intervals of taking the grape juice, systematically as has been indicated. Not that the body is too heavy, but just don’t get too heavy for the bettered conditions of heart, lungs, liver and kidneys.
-
Those inclinations in the throat and the bronchi and trachea will be much improved by the following of that which will produce more of those tendencies for an equal balance in the acidity and the alkalinity of the body. These precautions taken, then, we should keep physical forces good for the body.
-
The exercise of the hand should be more on the side as if directing a choir or waving up and down, see? These should be gentle but as using the arms to raise the body, as it were, from the ground.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What length periods should the grape juice be taken? (A) At least for a month or six weeks. Then leave it off a while, then again after two to three weeks, take another six weeks period.
-
(Q) Any further advice or counsel for the body at this time? (A) The attitudes, of course, as the body understands, have much to do with keeping the coordination. When there comes the disturbing conditions in mental relationships or attitudes, just don’t let it upset you. Know: that which is, if used, is best.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 11/29/44 EC’s letter to [1100] [GD’s note: This is perhaps one of the last few letters Mr. Cayce dictated. He had just returned from Roanoke, Va., and he could speak only in whispers, having had several strokes.]:
Mrs. [1100] …, Ind.
Dear [1100] and [470]:
As you doubtless know I came home last Thursday. I am feeling much better and I think I am getting along just as well or better here. Gertrude, Kathryn, sister Annie and the rest are just about worn out but if they can hold out and I can improve enough I might be able in a few weeks to go to Florida for the winter.
It would be mighty fine to see you again and I want to thank you for everything. There has been a lovely response by all of the various people and I hope that I can prove my appreciation when I am able to get back to work again.
Hoping that you are both fine. Thank you again and let me hear from you.
With love to both, I am Sincerely, Edgar Cayce [EC:jf]
R2. GD’s note: In subsequent years Mrs. [1100] became a food faddist; she was hipped on the subject of cholesterol, for instance, and also became a vegetarian. By 1958-1960 she had become as thin as a rail. She then developed tic douloureux and suffered agonies for months with it. Finally the doctors were able to relieve her by giving injections of Vitamin C in large amounts.
R3. 5/4/64 “The doctor thinks my fainting spells were caused by malnutrition, as I had not been eating enough for the last two yrs., especially meat. Have had every test imaginable.”
R4. 10/16/64 “The old pain in my jaw returned and the injections do not hold it in check as they used to do. We do miss Dr. O. M. Wakefield. There isn’t an osteopath near us except one who specializes in treating obesity and I do not need that at present.”
R5. 4/65 “I have been in the hospital for 3 wks. Had to have surgery for tic douloureux which I had for 3 1/2 yrs. Some things would help temporarily, but nothing permanently. The pain in the jaw became so severe that I could not eat, talk, wash my teeth or anything without violent pain. Since the surgery, headaches have developed, which the doctor thinks are caused by circulation. The doctor is one of the best neuro-surgeons in …, Tex. They clipped off over half of my hair, so I’ll have to get a wig until it grows out again.”
R6. 7/31/66 GD’s note: She told me today that the whole left side of her face is paralyzed, but it is better to have constant numbness than constant pain. She keeps dabbing at her lip corner with a tissue because she says she “drools” and can’t feel it.
To this date Mrs. [1100] and her husband, Mr. [470], have remained stalwart supporters of Edgar Cayce’s work.
R7. 3/12/76 Mrs. [1100]‘s nephew [1671]‘s wife reported: “Mrs. [1100] does not get out much any more, but is able to be up and around in her apartment.”
R8. 8/4/76 Mrs. [1100] wrote GD: “Am enclosing the form for the Prayer Group, as we ([470] and I) wish to get back in your prayers. I have been so miserable that I simply neglected to return it. I suffer constant pain throughout my left side of my body (for three years now) - the aftermath of the shingles. [470] is in pretty good health but has a few things wrong, for which he wishes prayers… Am enclosing a little love offering.”
