Involuntary. This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of March, 1937, in accordance with no request or suggestion, but at end of another Check Physical.

Time of Reading 11:45 to 11:50 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama. (Physical suggestion not given for this particular reading; it came without asking, at the end of another Check Physical, after the Conductor had given the suggestion “That is all.”)

1. EC: Now we have those conditions for [1112], …, Alabama.

2. As we find, we would keep - in this acute condition - the hot packs as given over the lower portion of the kidney area.

3. We would begin with Watermelon Seed Tea; not too strong, but about the proportions of a tablespoonful (heaping) of the seed, beat or ground or crushed, to a pint of water. Let this not boil but almost, keeping it covered. Then give little sips of it two, three, four times a day until it is seen that it has acted with the kidneys in throwing off accumulations there.

4. Also we find that the manipulations that tend to make the circulation active below the lumbar axis will be helpful.

5. We find that these as combined with those other administrations would be most helpful.

6. We are through with this reading.

R1. 3/5/37 EC’s letter: “Sorry Mr. [1112] is having such a time. Hope he is a whole lot better. This morning when getting some Ck. Readings it voluntarily gave a check of a kind on him…very unusual - but sometimes that happens - there were others also this morning given in the same way.”

R2. 3/18/37 Wife [1010]‘s letter: “Many thanks for the Check Reading for my husband. I have followed suggestions rigidly and he has improved wonderfully. He was so weak but has regained his strength so much in the last week.”

R3. 4/19/37 Wife’s letter: “My husband is much better. Watermelon seed tea and onion plaster are getting him well

• of course diet and neuropathic treatments to go with it.”

R4. 5/12/37 Wife’s reply to questionnaire in re Mr. [1112]:

(1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition? Yes.

(2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly? Yes. Very weak, trembling - especially hands, headache - dizzy - dull, stupid feeling, cough - constricted feeling in chest, pain in chest. Pain in kidneys, too frequent urination, torpid liver.

(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition? Nephritis - Acid condition, torpid liver - high blood pressure (160).

(4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? Yes.

(5) For how long? 10 days, rest for 4 then a week. Once in a while at present.

(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? Stronger - trembling ceased, - head cleared up, - blood pressure normal - cough stopped, - chest normal - appetite normal. Urination normal, lameness in back gone.

(7) Comment. It is wonderful how the treatments cured everything that was wrong with patient.
