This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of David E. Kahn, 20 Woods Lane, Scarsdale, N.Y., this 22nd day of November, 1936, in accordance with request made by the mother, Mrs. [558], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va., through her brother, Mr. [257].
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [257], Mrs. [903] and others.]
Time of Reading 6:10 to 6:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1145].
-
As we find, there are quite different conditions from that as we have had here before. While there have been helpful forces that have eliminated much of that which prevented the activities of the glandular system by making for normal, nominal developments throughout the physical body, there is in the present an infectious force that forms for a form of strep in the blood supply. Thus the abnormal temperature is produced, and an enlargement of the left lobe of the liver, and the tendency for the activity of the spleen to become enlarged; nausea, lack of appetite at times, cold and chilly sensations as dumb [silent, insidious, internal] chills arise from the condition.
-
This is a form of malarial condition, but affecting the glandular system especially in the areas indicated.
-
As we would find, in making applications in the present, it would be necessary first for a correction to be made in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th dorsal centers from which the cardiac plexus receives the impulse and the circulation to the central portions of the body. This would be done osteopathically.
-
Then apply SODA PACKS across the lower portion of the liver, the central portion of the lacteal duct area and the umbilicus plexus. This would extend then almost across the whole of the front portion of this portion of the abdomen, from the liver to the lower part of the spleen. Dry soda, at least half a pound of same, in a very heavy towel, damp and as hot as the body can stand same. AFTER the adjustment is made, make this application.
-
Then use high enemas to eliminate the poisons that have accumulated in the lower intestinal tract; using not the colonic irrigations but that to eliminate in such measures and manners as to relieve pressures in the area.
-
Then for two to three days keep the manipulations.
-
Cleanse the system with an eliminant, preferably an alkaline eliminant or vegetable than acid or mineral. Hence either Inner Clean or the Ragweed, or Podophyllin - very small quantities if this is used, but as a vegetable; for this would be as a dose - if this is to be used:
Podophyllum…1/8 grain, Sanguinaria…1/2 grain, Leptandrin…1/2 grain.
These would be compounded in a capsule as one dose. Necessary for at least two doses.
-
And we will find this will eliminate the conditions and rid the body of the disturbances, for there must be the correction of the pressures in the area indicated and the effects that have been set up in the assimilating and the eliminating system.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) How close together should the two capsules be taken? (A) Twenty-four hours apart.
-
(Q) How many osteopathic treatments? (A) One should be given before any applications are made externally or internally. Then after that, after the two doses are taken, two to three or four adjustments should make for proper adjustment throughout the cerebrospinal system.
-
(Q) Is tomorrow morning alright to begin with the treatments? (A) Tomorrow morning is alright to begin.
Eliminations, or those that may keep the body quiet or rest the body the most in the present, or this evening - a gentle massage along the spine with GRAIN alcohol; not rub alcohol but GRAIN alcohol; will reduce temperature somewhat and supply the general circulation a stimulation from the very activity or principles of the alcohol for a more even circulation - and giving strength to the bodily functions.
Not too heavy a diet, and beware of sweets - especially during the periods of the treatments.
-
(Q) What will relieve the nausea? (A) A little salt in water taken, this will relieve the nausea. This does not mean hot water, or warm water, but cold water - a pinch of salt between the fingers in a glass of water, though only a part of same, of course, could be taken.
-
(Q) Are the kidneys eliminating the proper amount of albumin? (A) The natural infectious forces as are indicated as an engorgement in a lobe of the liver and the spleen condition, where there is a fullness felt, or an engorgement would indicate there is an excess of sediment, but NOT the proper amount of albumin. But soda applications; adjustments first, that the system may RESPOND. For we may reduce temperatures, we may eliminate the causes of the strep in the blood supply from a malarial reaction. But unless the CAUSES are removed, these will return!
This was produced, as seen, by an injury or a STRAINING - apparently in wrestling - in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th dorsal.
- We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/9/36 Mother [558]‘s letter to GD: “Am surely sorry I did not get to see you all while you were in Scarsdale but I have been so tied down with [1145]. He is back to school and feeling better. However, the osteopath insists on many more treatments and Mr. Cayce says in his reading 3 or 4 should do the trick. Would you squeeze in a check-up so I’ll know just what to do?”
R2. 4/43 Uncle [257] requested a Life Reading for [1145] but EC was too far ahead with appointments to get it.
