This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 25th day of October, 1924, in accordance with request made the by self - Mr. [1180].

1. EC: Now, as to the operations as being handled by Cecil S. Ringle in Wichita County, Texas, send at once this wire:

3. In these, as we will find, there will come some discussion and digression from original conditions regarding these developments. However, these, when carried out in a proper manner, would prove successful.

R1. 11/6/24 [1180]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I will not attempt to write a letter tonight - but will let you know what I have done. I will give you full particulars in a letter soon as am very busy. Now about eighteen hours for … [?].

We continued the hole to seven hundred feet without a single rainbow then in order to go twenty feet farther we would have not [had?] to set pipe and go to as much expense about as it had already cost, then as we had failed in our expectation to that depth then there being thousands of wells in this country and a sand between the depths of seven and nine hundred is almost an unheard of thing. Then the depth test near by looked so much like a dry one that we were unable to sell any acreage leaving us with all the expense. We thought it best to move back onto a good contract where we could be making something until we can get a cleared location. Now Mr. Cayce this is just to let you know what we have done. A long letter and retort will follow. Now I have now lost confidence in you and wish to try again soon.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I am afraid you will think I have quit you but no not yet. I have been awful busy day and night, then not feeling any the best then to I have been wanting to go into detail with a long letter relating to your readings, and our dry hole then I have come to the conclusion what is the use we cannot expect them all to be big ones, as for me I am used to disappointments. That did not hurt us any we paid the bills, and moved on and have made it all back on contract work already so why worry.

I feel sure you do not think we put any thing over on you now if you so desire I will make you a full report of the entire operations. We still have the leases with a dry rotary hole close to the South line, but other people are contemplating the drill - of another on the North East if they do and we can sell the lease for enough to get out, we will and I shall let you know about it.

Some how I did not feel exactly right with your readings while I was drilling that hole they seemed to be confused to me but I am not able to explain in a letter so will wait until I see you. But then as for the depth the only reading I saw that gave any depth was the one taken at your home while I was there that gave the depth from 528 to 589 which is in line with the production in that section, so in starting our hole we started it big enough to go from six hundred to eight hundred feet but we were able to get exactly seven hundred feet which was good, and generally conceited as deep enough for any shallow sand.

I would certainly like to see you and have a long talk but the trip costs so much, then I am so very busy, and then to if you are still interested as I am we can try another one before I come back as one is no test.

Now Mr. Cayce in reply to your last letter in regards to my using your information, for my own use I wish to again assure you that none of it leaves my hands and no one shall receive any use of it except those directly interested in my Company that does there part toward the financing, like Mr. Benton did on this one on the Evans. Now I wish to ask one thing that is for you to take a reading at your earliest convenience, on these questions.

Q. What was the reason we did not get oil in this well? Was it any fault of mine should we attempt it again if so how should we carry on the work?

Can I successfully, finance your institution, by drilling after your readings if so how?

Now if you see fit to consider these questions you may of course remodel them as you think best then if in any way I am lame in my part I wish to know it, and I assure you there will be no ill feelings. I know I am not perfect but am willing to try.

With reference to your last letter of Oct 29th, I am certainly proud to know the interest you are taking in me and your willingness, to help me in any way you can but in return I want to solve some method in which I may be able to assist you in carrying out your plan.

Am I not giving you interest enough or have I some one with me that is not worthy or should I carry this end entirely by myself? Now if you can offer any suggestion I will gladly do what I can with it and as soon as I can get more acreage, in shape and you are still with me I shall try it again. I cannot see why you should be up there in your present financial condition, and able to give such information as you do on so many other things.

Then with me here with the equipment and able to drill a hole so quick that we should not succeed when we wish to, that we might be able to do good, then others make millions that does themselves harm, and no one else any good.

P.S. Nov. 18 here I find this letter not finished or mailed so will send it on I am feeling fine again now and hitting the high places in my new Ford. I just rec’d your last letter of the 11th and will endeavor to answer it soon will close this for now and run along across the prairie about ten miles to a well we are on please give my best to all the family I am as ever Your same [1180]
