This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of July, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [1180].

Time of Reading 3:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Aztec, New Mexico.

1. GC: You will have before you the physical body and the enquiring mind of [1180] at the American Hotel, Aztec, New Mexico, and his home and various business connections, associations and relations. You will give this body advice on all phases of his life, and answer the questions we will ask you regarding same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1180] and those associations, connections and relations. Many of these we have had before. Many have been the changes in the affairs, the surroundings and the relations of the body, since last we had same. In many conditions, many ways, physical and material, the body very much in the same condition or position as when we first had same; yet in material things the body occupies a very different status in the present surroundings.

3. As regarding the relationships and those conditions as exist, there soon will be a proposition made the body as respecting some developments, some operations, with the use of the materials and equipment as owned by the body. These would be well to be used in that operation, but we would NOT make those connections in such a way and manner that the whole of the holdings, including equipment, could not be disposed of on short notice; for with the operation will come also, or during the period, that of the opportunity to dispose of same, and that we would do - for, as has been given, the fields in Kentucky OFFER, FOR the body, the greater OPPORTUNITY, as to making the greater success FINANCIALLY; and same, while coming under stress at times, will prove to be the most satisfactory in every way.

4. While at home those conditions have not proven as satisfactory financially in many respects, the respect, the manner of operations, the manner of conducting same, has stabilized - and will enable the body physically to work out many things that will be the most satisfactory; for with the disposal of the holdings and equipment in the New Mexico field, the body will be enabled to gather together, through the associations and groups with which the body has been associated, in the home, that that will enable the body to carry on in the Kentucky field in a way that will BRING the most satisfying results. DO NOT attempt to begin operations in Kentucky on too large a scale. The production, and the developments of production there, will pay for self - and let the INCREASE be such as to enable the body to grow GRADUALLY into that of an operator as worthy of the proper consideration as to abilities and as to the manners in which same may be conducted. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) What should be done to keep body in best physical conditions? (A) Keep much of that in the way of the proper attitude of mind as respecting the spiritual body, the mental body, as related to the physical conditions in same.

6. (Q) How can the body best see to the comforts of his wife and parents? (A) This has just been outlined.

7. (Q) How should he proceed in present location? (A) As has been outlined, there will soon be offered the proposition for the use of the equipment, of holdings. Take hold there, but not in such a manner that - WITH the use of same - the offers as will come for the disposal of the holdings and of equipment may be done IMMEDIATELY when this is offered, see? This, as we find, would require two - three - possibly four months; not longer.

8. (Q) Should he attempt the gas proposition Sherman Township, Huron County, Ohio? If so, how should he proceed? (A) We would not attempt same until after there is a disposal of many conditions as confront the body, in the disposing of equipment, in the establishing of self and of those associated with self IN Kentucky.

9. (Q) Should he drill any more in Reed Township, Seneca County, or Norwich Township, Huron County, Ohio? (A) These are all in an aftermath. They are behind, not ahead at present.

10. (Q) How can he recover money lost in Kentucky? (A) By going to work there!

11. (Q) How can he recover money tied up in the Attica bank? (A) This may only be recovered through the regular channels of the distribution to the depositors of this institution.

12. (Q) Is there a good pool of oil under, or near his father’s farm, in Norwich Township, Huron County, Ohio? (A) This, as we find, is rather in a formation condition, than of a satisfactory production commercially. Some gas and some oil may be located. This, as we find, would be a better proposition later, than at present.

13. (Q) Should he attempt to buy land adjoining his father’s farm and stock it with sheep? (A) Later on this may be accomplished. NOT in the present condition.

14. (Q) Where should he and his wife establish their permanent home? and when should they do it? (A) This will be a development of the conditions as they progress, see? for with the proper handling of the conditions, they will be enabled to establish wherever they SO desire. As we find, there would be more than one, in the end.

15. We are through for the present.

R1. 7/16/30 [1180]‘s letter to EC:

My dear Mr. Cayce:-

We received the reading, and are very much pleased with it. We are stopping here at Albuquerque and intend to stay here until we can do something with our equipment, and then return to Kentucky, and Ohio.

I do not doubt but what I will have the proposition made me before long, that you mentioned. The only question will be, is that there are different propositions coming up and if I will be able to pick the right one. At any rate I will do the very best I can, and when the time for closing comes, I will wire you, and if it is possible for you to just ask the question, in one of your check readings, will be all that is necessary.

Mr. Cayce we surely do appreciate what you are trying to do for us, and if we can possibly carry out these readings we will surely do so, as that is all we have on our mind, to carry out this reading. And I assure you we will not forget our old friend. As soon as we begin to dispose of some of our stuff here, we will send you some money, to apply on these readings. I wish that you would book us for a couple more readings for as soon as we get through here, we will need advise as to how to procede at home, and in Kentucky.

Mrs. [2519] seems to be feeling better since we came to this dry altitude, but I think perhaps two or three months as you suggested, spent here will do her good. I do not know much of interest to write, but wish to assure you that our thoughts are with you, and are very glad to hear from you at this time. At present our address will be Albuquerque, N.M.

Mrs. [2519] joins me in sending best of wishes to yourself and family.

R2. 10/6/30 [1180]‘s letter to EC:

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

Yours of the 19th to hand, will try to answer it. I cannot tell you how very very glad we always are to hear from you. I note you may come through here, next month now if you do, we wish you would plan to stop over with us, if it is only from one train to another. If I have my tools working, would be glad for you to go out to camp for a while, if you are trying to get away from the rest of the world for a while. You sure will be that out to our camp.

Now, if you will stop I assure you we will not request you to give any readings, and if you can put up with what we live on, I assure you we will be glad to have you stay as long as you like.

I have not had any chance to dispose of my equipment yet, but expect to put it to work very soon, for a man from San Francisco. I understand this man is a very big operator. He incorporated the General petroleum of California, and sold to the Standard of Indiana for a great many millions. He has just bought out a friend of mine here and gets some large holdings, that he is starting another Company on, so I expect to start about three of my outfits for him real soon, besides look after two of his that he is getting with the property, that are not on locations drilling. So think perhaps as soon as he gets his new organization going, I may be able to sell my equipment to them also. I sure am planning on getting back to Kentucky as soon as possible.

This man that just sold, is all enthused over what I tell him about Kentucky and he is going now soon as he can get away, and says he will be there waiting for me. This man’s name is W. M. Smith he has worked for years to perfect an instrument to locate oil, and seems to think he has it down right now, any rate he seems to be 100% here and in West Texas. If he is right in Kentucky we sure can make good, in that shallow stuff as I already have a shallow rig and a lot of well equipment there and think I know how to run it.

He is going to go there and stay, and experiment around other wells that are drilling to prove himself, until I get there. And then I wish for another reading, to tell me just how to procede.

I feel the last reading I had is right, and I am doing my best to follow it out. So far it seems to be working out about right.
