Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ala.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [1196]; this we have had before.
-
Not so good are the conditions in the present; as we find. The effects of the toxic forces and poisons from lack of elimination, combined with congestion, produce through the pelvis and the areas in distress the greater disturbances.
-
In some ways conditions are improved; in others in the immediate they are not so well as when we last had same here.
-
These are the conditions as we find them in the present with this body:
-
In the blood supply, this the distresses as indicated makes for some little temperature - but is from poisons and cold rather than from any condition within the blood stream itself.
-
This makes for congestion in the liver area, and the weakness in the prostate area; as well as the lower hepatic circulation gives distress. And these indications are from disorders or disturbances in the circulatory system.
-
In the nervous system, the anxieties of the body as combined with the disorders make for the conditions being more acute.
-
As we would find in the present, disregarding as it were all - only using those that have been given as a direction and where they check with same, these we would apply in this particular time:
-
First we would have each evening a massage across the lumbar area, across the lower portion portion of the abdomen - and while shielding the scrotum area, massage across the areas through which those glandular forces of the system here pass, see? with an equal combination of Mutton Suet or Mutton Tallow (melted), Spirits of Turpentine, Spirits of Camphor and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Then we would apply a dry heat, preferably heavy salt in pads heated, or the electric pad front and back. Do this for fifteen to twenty minutes each evening for a period of three to four days. Then if the condition is eased, rest for a week and then apply these again.
-
We would also use EACH day for periods of three to four weeks the Radio-Active Appliance as has been indicated for the body.
-
We would have those periods of using the eliminants, but varied. At times use the Zilatone. The day when this is used, take two tablets after the noon meal, two tablets upon retiring. If these act well with the system, then use a high enema the next day to eliminate all of the poisons from the colon area.
-
The next week we would use an active force as in the Fletcher’s Castoria; a small size bottle of same taken in the three doses during the afternoon - two hours apart.
-
We would also after this use the enemas. And in the enemas have soda and salt. To each quart of water (the temperature of the body) put half a teaspoonful of soda and a level teaspoonful of table salt. Dissolve this very thoroughly. In the last water, or after there has been injected and expelled the soda-salt solution for the cleansing, we would use the Glyco-Thymoline; these enemas we would use a soft rectal tube rather than the hard tube; or a very soft rectal tube with the hard rubber, that there may not be an irritation to the glandular forces through these areas of the system.
-
Also we would have the corrections given, neuropathically or osteopathically; not only the GENERAL treatments but extend to the lower lumbar and throughout or down the whole length of the limbs, and ESPECIALLY those movements to the feet that will remove this strain as produced by the body from the pressure upon the pelvic regions from making for the movements that cause nerve tension through the lower limbs, producing the trembly sensation, producing the activities to the circulation as to disturb the heart. But these as we find are organically not disturbed, but functional sympathetic reaction causes the disturbance.
-
In the diet follow very closely to those things that have been indicated. Beware of too much of sugar and too much of fat foods or fried foods, or fats of any kind. These work hardships upon those weaknesses, as we have indicated, in the liver and the pancreas and spleen area. Hence these should be almost tabu by the system as part of the diet.
-
In doing these as we find we may bring the better conditions for this body, [1196].
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is my condition serious? (A) This depends upon the taking of the precautions necessary to relieve the disturbances. Not necessarily serious if the proper precautions are taken.
-
(Q) Any spiritual advice? (A) Keep always those constructive forces, and let not fear enter into any of the activities in any direction. For these usually do bring, and have brought, confusion to the body.
-
We are through with this reading.

R1. 1/24/37 [1196]‘s letter to EC:
PERSONAL
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Some weeks ago, perhaps two or three months ago, while partly asleep, I clearly saw the face of a man, one of physical strength, and the hair was short cut. He seemed to be a man of much learning and intelligence and had an expression of deep interest in me. I wrote you about this, you will recall.
A Mrs. Jane Stewart, of the Spiritualist Church, Birmingham, Ala., was here a day or two ago giving readings, so I went to see her. She was very good, I thought, outlining my physical troubles about like you did, but not so complete, and without prescribing treatment. She did say, however, that from the spirit world she got the information that I should not take drastic cathartics and should try to keep my bowels open, should not each much of sweets and starches, that I should drink quantities of water every day. In the end of the interview she said she was in touch with a certain Dr. Henry Roberts, physician, who lived in Philadelphia and later moved to New York City, dying there some 11 years ago, who told her he had been treating me from the spirit world for some years, that I would get well before April of this year.
Well, here comes the most remarkable experience. There is a negress here, I should say about 57 years of age, and she has some reputation as a psychic. I went to see her. She told me that she was in touch with my mother, that the latter said I should take a certain treatment, and, when she outlined it as coming from my mother, it tallied with treatment I am now taking on my last reading from you. This negress described accurately my symptoms, aches, soreness, etc. It was very interesting, as you might imagine. My mother, she said, stated that my kidneys were weak - in addition to the faulty elimination your reading outlined. Recommended that I drink lots of water, that I not eat pork, fat or fried foods, sweets and starches to be used very sparingly.
I have written to the City Health Officer in N.Y. City and the one in Philadelphia to see if I can get a record of this Dr. Henry Roberts. If I do I shall write you about it.
I hope you will continue to pray for me because I have not been doing so well.
Love to all.
Sincerely yours, [1196]
R2. 3/20/37 He wrote that his symptoms were slightly improved, still pretty severe.
R3. 3/25/37 [1196]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I have, and greatly appreciate, your kind letter of the 23rd inst.
I do not know that I ever felt more dejected. My symptoms for past few days have been troublesome and annoying. I do want to get well - not for myself but that I may be of help to my wife and others. I love to help people, and if God will only give me back my health and my well being I will be so thankful. I am just not at all well. I keep going, hoping for a turn for the best.
It is very kind of you to offer me the reading. I do hope this time it will solve my trouble and give me a remedy to relieve it.
Tuesday, March 30th, I shall be at home, unless I wire you differently, (can’t tell exactly all the time because might have some very important matter for the R.R. to turn up), and suppose I stay at home that afternoon from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., my time, which is 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. your time. I shall, during that period, pray that your reading may find my trouble and the cure for it. I am giving a list of the questions to be asked.
Q. - (1) There is a terrible tenseness, off and on, in the region between my hip bones, lower part of the abdomen, and it gets very sore. It seems that when I can urinate freely it relieves the trouble somewhat. The condition also makes my back, low down across lower part of spine, ache very badly, making my legs stiff, with little darting pains down up along my back, and the back part of my neck gets sore and stiff. What is causing this condition? [See 1196-7, Par. 15-A.]
Q. - (2) I have a great deal of trouble in having satisfactory bowel action, and the movements vary in color, sometimes light clay color, again dark; sometimes normal, other times in very small (about like a pencil in size) pieces. What causes this?
Q. - (3) I suffer a stiffness up along my back, lower part of the spine to near shoulder blades, with soreness in the same area. What causes it? [See 1196-7, Par. 16-A.]
Q. - (4) My tongue stays heavily coated. I have a great deal of gas accumulation in my bowels. When I can expel this completely I seem to relax and feel batter. What causes these conditions?
Q. - (5) As to question No. 1 above, when that condition exists my bladder troubles me - seems to be a pressure there, with soreness, but, as stated, when I urinate completely it tends to relieve the trouble. Have had urine tested in laboratory and there is nothing bad in the analysis. What cause the bladder disturbance?
Q. - (6) When I feel bad, with symptoms above quite pronounced, my ankles get stiff, my legs get weak, my breath is short, and it is weakening to walk up stairs. In other words, my breath gets short. What causes these symptoms? [See 1196-7, Par. 17-A.]
Q. - (7) I have, within past day or two, consulted a doctor, who says my trouble is systemic poisoning, not a blood disease, and that it came to me through inheritance. What does your source of information think about this? [See 1196-7, Par. 18-A.]
Q. - (8) If I follow treatment you outline in reading 30th inst. does your source of information think I can get entirely well? [3/30/37 See 1196-7, Par. 20-A.]
R4. 3/30/37 EC gave him Ck. Physical 1196-7 answering questions.
