GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, at times conditions show improvement. At other times there continues to be too great a disturbance in the metabolism of the system, and the heart’s activity - which is indicated by the dizziness - that is not well.
-
We would take the Eno Salt of mornings, and rather long series of it; a teaspoonful in a glass of water every morning before the meal is taken, for a period of at least three weeks. Then leave off about a week, and then take for three weeks more, and so on.
-
The colonic irrigations we would continue. These are very good. As to how many per month, this should depend upon how much of the mucous is indicated at each time. Take them about ten days apart until no mucous shows, see, in the stool when the irrigation is given; and then take them about once a month - oftener if the dizziness appears again.
-
Doing these, with the rubs, offer the better conditions for this body; if these are done consistently and persistently.
-
In the diet, keep away from sweets or heavy foods, for these tend to create more disturbance in the condition of the circulation between heart, lungs and liver.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Wherein have I been failing in my health program? (A) By breaking over in the diet, and by sometimes too sedentary and sometimes too active influences.
-
(Q) What can be done to overcome dizziness, pains and noises in head and ears? (A) As indicated, the rubs and the colonics, with the keeping up of the eliminations to reduce the pressure of the blood - these are the better conditions.
-
(Q) Can dizziness be permanently corrected? (A) If the pressure is brought down and if there are the precautions as to the diets and a uniform activity.
-
(Q) Are osteopathic treatments by Bebout satisfactory? Any directions? How many per month? (A) Keep the stimulations to the lower axis AND keep down the pressures to the upper portion of the body and head. These should be gently given, not too deeply but thoroughly given.
About every two weeks take two a week, see?
- (Q) Shall I take vapor baths? How often? From Dr. Crum in Hudson or from someone in …? (A) Vapor baths are very good if properly given. These are helpful, but there should be a great deal of precaution taken, so as not to overheat the body.
Dr. Crum is very good.
These should be at least once a week, if properly administered.
-
(Q) What must be eaten daily and weekly? (A) This should be rather of the body’s choosing. The body has the knowledge as to what is best. Just do not break over too often.
-
(Q) Shall I supplement with Vitamin pills? What kind, how many? (A) We would not. If the body will take the Ry-Krisp mostly as the bread, and the grape juice four times a day, we find that the body may eat almost that it desires - just so it assimilates well - except sweets.
Use about three ounces of grape juice and one ounce of plain water (not carbonated), about half an hour before each meal and at bedtime.
-
(Q) Are other tonics suggested? (A) These should be sufficient tonics.
-
(Q) Any other suggestions to improve health program? (A) Do these things, as we find; being precautious about the eliminations, even though the colonics are necessary. Be mindful that these are taken according to the mucous that is indicated as being a portion of the disturbance, that aids in causing the dizziness.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/30/41 Daughter [1158]‘s letter: “Mother felt very disturbed about two items mentioned in her last check reading…the grape juice she was told to take 4 times per day. She has been told this before, and she has failed to do it… I wonder if you have information which you have secured thru the readings, as to what particular advantages there are in the grape juice…it is difficult to arrange her activities so as to be where she can get the drink and take it 1/2 hr. before each meal…anything else that could be substituted for it, which would be less difficult to arrange to take, and pleasanter to the taste, or whether it is essential to her well-being to stick to taking the grape juice…
“The other item of the reading that disturbed her was about the Eno salts. Both her osteopath and the nurse who gives the colonic irrigations say that Eno salts should not be taken by her because they drain away the liquids of the body. As they are not enthusiastic about Cayce, in fact one of them knows nothing whatever about him, the matter has not been discussed with them. But when they heard Mother was taking Eno salts, they both told her this was a mistake, and she should stop. Naturally she dislikes continuing to take them with such opposition. Therefore, it might be well to have an explanation as to why this method of securing better elimination for Mother was chosen in preference to something else that might have been suggested.
“Again, it seems to me important for Mother to be convinced in her mind that the Eno salts are not draining the liquids in her system in a harmful way. Also I feel she should be convinced of the importance of making a business of following the reading; in other words, that she should treat herself as a convalescent patient would be treated, and not as a practically well person would be treated; but should be content to be under a discipline, such as she would be, if she were in a sanitarium and completely regulate her life to fit her health program, for the next 2 months. (Then she goes to Mich., where she can have no more colonics or osteopath for 2 months.)”
[GD’s note: A few days later Mrs. [1158] visited EC and I think he explained to her that the Eno salts was not draining on the system like Epsom Salts, and gave her many instances in which the readings had recommended grape juice with beneficial results for regulating the diet appetites.]
