Date: 8/24/1936 Sex: M Age: 40 ReadingID: 6816
This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of August, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - through Mr. [333], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [1242]; this we have had before.
-
The inroads of those infectious forces in head and throat still progress.
-
In the present, as we would find, we would use the electrical vibrations from the 3rd and 4th dorsal plexus with the smaller, the larger passing through solution attach at the vagus center or the left side of the throat at the entrance of the collarbone or the edge of the collarbone and the large pulsation to the throat. This in addition to the regular vibration for the body, see?
-
Also we would use a spray for throat with a solution prepared in this manner:
-
To 1/2 ounce of the pure grain alcohol and 1/2 ounce distilled water (that’s pure grain alcohol and distilled water, you see, making 1 ounce in all), add: (to the 50% solution)
Oil of Eucalyptus…2 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…1 minim, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…3 minims.
Use this as a spray. This should allay and allow for the ability to swallow.
-
All of these are ALLAYINGS and not curatives, to be sure.
-
Do that.
-
Liquids should be given. May become necessary to give - for the retaining of the strength - intravenous infusions.
-
Do that.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/25/36 Mr. [333]‘s letter: “Well, you certainly were the means of making four people happy up here today in doing something very helpful for poor [1242]. The prescription for the spray was filled at once and his first use of it made it possible for him to eat and eat with comfort. They felt that the results were amazing and so do we.
“I feel that the use of the Wet Cell in the new manner is to be very helpful in checking the spreading of the disease.
“There is one question we all wanted to ask because of the druggist’s reaction to making up the prescription. Mrs. […] [his wife] took care of having it filled and was very insistent that the ingredients be mixed in the order given in the reading. The druggist insisted that if he did this that the Turp and Benzoin would not mix with the water and alcohol. So he mixed the Turp and Benzoin together and then added them to the water and alcohol, having already mixed the Eucalyptus with the alcohol and water. Does this make any difference? Is it necessary in every case that the ingredients in a prescription be mixed in the exact order as given?
“Thanks so much for your great help. May God continue to add His blessing as always to that you are doing.”
R2. 8/26/36 EC wrote Mr. [333] to tell Mr. [1242] and wife he would be glad to get a ck. reading any time without reimbursement, “though I feel he is fighting a losing game from the physical angle and know it must be an awful, awful thing. Tell him he can call on us at any time.”
R3. 8/26/36 EC’s letter to Mrs. [480]: “Some of the reports we have had on these Appliances have been most remarkable. Just the other day [8/23/36] I had a telephone conversation with a man in Washington. He has a horrible, horrible disturbance! There is possibly no cure. He has cancer of the face, about half of it gone - but the reading suggested the use of one of these with some metals that might be carried into the system. And his wife talking to me over the phone (together with his friend, the man who suggested he get a reading) said while he was only to use it every other day, as the time came for him to use it he got more and more anxious, as it was the only thing he had ever seen that brought him relief without sticking a needle in his arm. And he feels that if he could have had the reading sometime ago it might have enabled him to carry on. It makes me wish that I could do more.”
R4. 8/29/36 EC’s letter: “Usually the compounds given state whether or not the ingredients should be added in the order named. Just whether such was the case in the last reading for Mr. [1242], I do not know. Oftentimes, of course, the druggists know that such compounds do not mix unless combined in a certain way and manner, and it is always most satisfactory when we can get one who will take some interest and some consideration for such things. Often we have had the experience where a variation in the compounding of the properties has made a great deal of difference.”
R5. 9/2/36 Mr. [333]‘s letter: “I am writing this to you in haste from the office and to you as I do not have the Norfolk address of the Health Home Remedies Corp. here with me. Mrs. […] [[1242]‘s wife] phoned me that the lead wire loop in the jar containing the Silver Nitrate has corroded or dissolved and there is no longer any connection. Please have new wire and cap complete sent by special delivery. I wonder why this gave out so soon. Is it usual for this to happen?
“[1242] is stronger. Has gained 4 lbs., is eating and sleeping well.”
R6. 9/7/36 Mr. [333]‘s letter: “I am writing this from [1242]‘s home. They called me this afternoon asking me to come over and prepare questions for check reading. The thirty day period expires Saturday. I enclose list of questions on separate sheet. Please notify them direct of the appointment.”
R7. 9/14/36 Mr. [333]‘s letter: “I went in to see [1242] and found him feeling quite chipper and hopeful. They are going on with the treatment pending receipt of the check reading. I suppose you rec’d my letter with the questions.”
R8. 9/15/36 Mr. [1242]‘s wife’s letter verifying appointment: “Mr. [1242] has hopes of soon writing an encouraging letter personally. At the present date he is much too weak to do so. This weakened condition (he thinks) is due to the use of so many sedatives, also the last few days desire to eat is lacking, consequently he is losing weight steadily.”
