This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of January, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self, through Mr. [333], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes.

2. As we find conditions are very much improved in many ways. The general disturbance as we find localizes itself more in the coccyx and lumbar area.

3. And while we would keep the applications that have been indicated, in the matter of the diet, the massage, the ointments, we would use now the small rectal applicator of the Violet Ray - and this we would use about once each week until the soreness is eliminated and there are those tendencies for better relaxation and evacuation through the alimentary canal. Use from a minute to a minute and a quarter at each treatment. We find it would be preferable to use same with a good quantity of Vaseline when injected - the Vaseline put on the applicator, see, to insert.

4. The rest we would keep much in the order indicated.

6. (Q) What causes the dizziness and what can be done for it? (A) This is a natural reaction from the lack of the proper eliminations and the poisons as they affect the whole of the equilibrium or the circulatory forces.

The continued applications in those directions should be most beneficial.

7. (Q) Should the Wet Cell Appliance be continued with the present solutions or should there be a change? (A) We would continue in the present with the same solutions, or same character - not exactly the same solution but the same character of solution, see? renewed.

8. (Q) Are connections and conditions of Wet Cell satisfactory? (A) These should be kept, noticed at each time the connections are made, and these be kept very clean and in perfect contact when applied to body, and directly to the body.

9. (Q) Should massage be with the same compound? (A) This as we have indicated would be well to continue.

10. (Q) The use of Tim does not seem to relieve pain. Why is this? (A) As has been indicated, this is from a localization of a great deal of the trouble. Hence the use of the Violet Ray Rectal Applicator, but the very small one. This as we find, while producing some itching, if there will be used the Tim afterward, should relieve the disturbance - in a very few days rid the condition of the itching, and then healing begins.

11. (Q) Is the use of the hot water bottle or electric pad beneficial and are there any suggestions for their use? (A) These when necessary. Naturally the heat disseminates, and is beneficial. Use these when necessary.

12. (Q) When can there be a return to the normal method for the bowel eliminations? (A) When the conditions have cleared sufficiently for this activity.

13. (Q) Any other suggestions? (A) Keep the mental attitude and the regular spiritual insight and application in material things for the better results in every manner.

R1. 3/4/37 Mr. [333]‘s letter: “Mrs. [1280] asks that you please arrange for a check reading… There is little relief from application of violet ray machine. Why? The constant irritating pain in rectum is very upsetting to the nervous system. Could anything be done to help this condition? Just what is the beneficial reaction in the use of the Wet Cell in this case? Are the baths and rubs being taken at the sanitarium beneficial or harmful? The use of the Tim does not bring relief from pain. Why is this so?”
