GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is Dr. Vorhees [R. D. Vorhees, D.O.], Cleveland, Ohio, doing satisfactory finger surgery work for me? (A) As we find, if this is carried out - while at variance to some that would perform such - it may prove to be satisfactory. It isn’t indicated just how far this is to go as yet.
Very well, if carried out in its entirety.
-
(Q) Shall he give more finger surgery treatments this fall? How many, how often? (A) There should be given sufficient to break up the lesions along the Eustachian tubes; and these given sufficiently often to prevent their adherence again. This, to be sure, can best be determined - as to how many and as to how often - by the manner in which the body reacts to the treatments. These may best be determined, then, by Dr. Vorhees, see?
-
(Q) Can he finish breaking down adhesions by Christmas? (A) This, again, depends upon the response the BODY makes. These should be sufficient, but later there would be the necessity for preventing these from adhering again, see?
Read just what has been given, and then use consistency and judgement with that being done.
-
(Q) Is there someone in Cleveland who could do more satis- factory work and more in accord with that indicated? (A) You’ve begun here; don’t change, or else you may find you’ll not get ANY results from same?
-
(Q) Any further advice for me? (A) Be persistent. Don’t stop too soon, but let the reaction be that as consistently followed out, with the suggestions as indicated and that needed for this breaking up of the adhesions and lesions.

We are through with this Reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 11/3/40 Mrs. [1158]‘s letter: “It is a great relief to me to know that it is o.k. for [1309] to proceed with the Cleveland doctor, as her last reading said she should take a finger surgery now (Oct.) and another one in two or three months. This Cleveland doctor said he did not believe the breaking up of adhesions would materially help her hearing but that he could break them up in six weeks by a treatment per week. Naturally, such a procedure, so different from the plan of the reading, terrified me. But Mrs. [1309] said it would cost less than to go to VB, and it could be finished up sooner without dragging it out, and felt it worth trying… So, each week she goes to Cleveland for her finger surgery and once a week has a general osteopathic treatment here…
“Would you mind reading over her last two ck. rdgs. and see if you think she ought to take two general osteopathic treatments per week. She started out in Sept. with two general treatments per week and continued same for about four weeks. It is only since she has started her weekly Cleveland trip that she is cutting her general treatment here to one per week.”
R2. 11/7/40 Letter from GD to Mrs. [1158]: ”…About Mrs. [1309], I feel that the one general treatment a week is sufficient, since she has the ‘breaking up’ treatment also once a week. If she was having a long wait between the finger surgery treatments, then I’m sure it would be better for two general treatments a week. However, as she is now doing seems perfectly correct and in keeping with the Reading; provided she watches her diet and keeps her general system eliminating properly. I do hope she gets marvelous results…”
R3. 4/21/41 Letter from Mrs. [1158] to GD: ”…I hope on Monday or Tuesday you can include a Check Physical Reading for Mrs. [1309]. She has not been as well as she should be since Christmas, and she has a strange growth which we want to inquire about…”
R4. 5/4/41 Mrs. [1309] was present for her ck. reading - See 1309-6.
