This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of November, 1943, was volunteered for Mrs. [1352], without the suggestion or request being made to obtain it, immediately after two Physical Readings had been given for Mr. [3434] and Mr. [3436].
[Edgar Cayce; Gladys Davis, Conductor and Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.)]
Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Ky. (This information came at the end of another Reading, without the suggestion being given.)
-
EC: Now, we have here the body [1352], …, Kentucky.
-
Conditions are not too easy with this body in the present.
-
We would have at least one or two gentle treatments osteopathically to ease those tensions in the side and the position of the pelvic bones.
-
It is not long before the end of gestation here. The health of this body as well as the life of the infant will depend much upon the care of the body during delivery. Be mindful of the position before delivery is attempted.
-
Take plenty of water, yes - but an antiseptic that is alkaline and not acid should be used at the time of the delivery.
-
These be sure to keep, and we will find much better conditions for this body.
-
We are through for the present.
Two copies to Self - (one for Dr. Beard) Copy to Ass’n file

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/3/43 “The reading and your letter this morning - guess the reading has me pretty upset. Have been going to Dr. Stone but am going down this afternoon to see Doctor Dade, if he will take me. Dr. Stone has taken no interest whatsoever. When I told him about my side he kinda laughed and threw it off saying it was probably the baby causing it to hurt…
“Will there be any way possible for you to give me a reading when my labor starts if I wire you? I simply do not trust the doctors. I would feel like it was very necessary to have a reading when my pains start. Also the doctors here give an anesthetic during the labor period - wondered if in my case it would be better not to have anything - they also give an enema when you go to the hospital.
“In case Dr. Dade will not take the case (he has been ill, and may not want to), would it be possible to get a reading to find out who to go to and where?…
“Is that [the antiseptic] to be taken internally through the mouth or as a vaginal wash, and do you think an x-ray would be advisable when labor starts in order to tell the position of the baby?
“If important and necessary wish you would wire answer (collect) to this letter.”
R2. 12/9/43 EC’s letter to [1352]: “I have yours of the 3rd, and I was very much afraid the information would sort of upset you. I don’t know just whether we may take a reading at the proper time or not, [1352]. You know if it is possible, I will do so.
“I don’t think that you need be over anxious, if you do the things as suggested in that reading. Of course, this is just as personal opinion, and we don’t know Dr. Stone, nor Dr. Dade for 20 yrs. or more, but I believe I would rather have Dr. Dade. He at least would not laugh at you, if you told him you had a reading because he has run up against them sometimes and had to take his own medicine.
“I am sure he nor any other doctor would object to using the alkaline antiseptic, and the warning that it be used with glyco, through the mouth as well as the wash, and I think it meant more the wash.
“Hoping everything is coming along fine, I am,” Edgar Cayce
R3. 12/29/43 She wrote that Dr. Dade doesn’t take maternity cases any more so she is still with Dr. Stone; she went to see Mrs. [23] who suggested that she have the doctor make a fluoroscope when labor starts; she had bad cold, sore throat the past 2 weeks - Dr. gave her sulfathyozol tablets; has taken 7 tr. from Dr. Beard since the reading; has less than 2 weeks now to go.
R4. 1/1/44 Letter from EC to Mrs. [1352]: “Thanks for yours of the 29th. I have been expecting almost daily a wire. I just hope you will get along nicely. Am sure if you keep the right attitude that everything will work out right. It is too bad that you have to have a cold just at this time, but I hope that is getting better.
“I am not very much according to the information we have made in favor of the sulfa drug - especially under such circumstances. They don’t know quite enough about it, and what the after effects are. Please understand I am not trying to tell the medical profession what to do. Am trying to tell you not to let them do it.
“Think you are quite sensible in having the treatments from Dr. Beard. I feel sure they will help more than anything in the world. Tell [1306] I will be writing her real soon, but I have gotten so far behind with my personal letters - you will see here, am dictating this, to even get any of them answered.
“I just hope you will get along all right. Know we will be glad to do whatever we can, whenever we can. We are busier than we have ever been before.
“Thanks for everything.
“Do let us hear from you…”
R5. 1/12/44 Mother [1690]‘s wire: “[Baby girl] born 4:20 A.M., Jan. 12th weight 7 lbs. Both doing fine. Only four hours labor.”
R6. 7/9/44 She sent pictures and asked for a life rdg. on baby, saying “You first and Dr. Beard second get all the credit for her birth, in my opinion.”
