This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 22nd day of January, 1926, in accordance with request made by her son-in-law, Mr. [900].

Time of Reading 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York, N.Y.

1. GC: You will have before you the body of Mrs. [139] who is in Room 413, 2nd floor, Mt. Sinai Hospital, 99th & 100th Street & 5th Avenue, New York City, and the conditions surrounding same, and you will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same, and you will answer the specific questions that I ask you regarding this.

2. EC: Now, the physical conditions are again somewhat exaggerated in the physical functioning of the body. As we find, with that condition where the blood from the system comes to these portions that affect in the eye, and the swelling, were this manipulated in the cervical, so as to prevent this in-flow and pressure on nerve and on blood that forms, and the applications made AS HAVE BEEN GIVEN for this body, for the CLEANSING of the blood as is used in these portions of system, this operation might still be prevented. Were these conditions allowed to still accumulate, and the pressure and pulsation become so severe as to cause the condition necessary for operation, then SHOULD BE removed from other side, see? for then we would tie in the other drain, or in the other portion of system where this condition is the leakage portion to this swelling.

3. (Q) Is another operation necessary? (A) Not just yet, and as (now, we are speaking from physical conditions) given, were these conditions carried out (from the physical viewpoint, purely), we do not find this would be necessary. THOUGH, SHOULD this accumulation continue, then it WILL BE necessary, see?

4. (Q) Should it be performed on the other side of the neck, as Dr. Eldsberg intends doing? (A) As given, should be on the other side, for the other vent will then be checked.

5. (Q) What will happen if Dr. Eldsberg carries out his plans? (A) We do not give for other conditions, plans, than that as has been given here for the body. We have the body, NOT Dr. Eldsberg.

6. (Q) May [900] do anything further now to help Mrs. [139]? (A) The spiritual forces, that have so much to do with the physical reactions in the body of Mrs. [139] may still be assisted and helped, by that strength as the body is able to give to the body, Mrs. [139] see? and in this same manner and way as has been given, see? Those conditions that have prevented this full realization in the body are those little conditions that arise in differences in the attitude of others, see?

7. (Q) What caused the improvement to stop and present seeming reaction to worse conditions? (A) Just as given, see?

8. (Q) Any further suggestions for the relief and improvement for this body? (A) Only those as given, see. This manipulation that prevents this blood flow (with the hand) and with the application of those rays that clarify, see, producing more perfect coagulation, that prevents the gurgle, or pressure, or pulsation, see, destroying those conditions that build in themselves that produce the swelling, inflammation and pressure. Spiritually, these same elements should be given, in the way and manner as has been given, and as have been applied; for, as has been seen, the entity should understand how that physical condition, even created by spiritual force and action in the material body, so long as in that material body, is subject to all laws of the flesh.

I don’t believe it and am in hopes her faith in the divine may continue to manifest in her decided improvement, such as to avoid this second (?) operation.”
