This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of April, 1928, in accordance with request made by [900], her brother-in-law, via phone.

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce and Dr. Thomas B. House.]

Time of Reading 10:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C. (Check Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before.

  2. Now, we find in many ways the body shows improvement from that we have had before; yet there is the indication of reinfection, especially in the area about the soft tissue in the inner ear, and that in the portion just back of ear. Would there have been applied the light ray - that affects the nerve and blood - we would have found a different condition, as we see it.

  3. To meet the needs of conditions at present:

  4. As soon as possible APPLY the light ray to the cerebro-spinal system, as given [cervical-dorsal region], for this will assist in preventing this continuation.

  5. We would use as something to ease the pain - heat (not too hot, but warm - sufficient that there is not too severe reaction) a few drops every two to four hours of St. Jacob’s Oil in the ear.

  6. Massage gently - not severe, but gently - olive oil, Tincture of Myrrh and Sassafras Oil - equal parts - in the region along the lower portion of the head and about the ear, see? This should keep down the troubles, but be careful that the pain does not reach that stage as to become too severe for the body. Meet conditions as they arise. Do that at the present. Ready for questions.

  7. The massage of olive oil, Tincture of Myrrh and Sassafras Oil - heat the olive oil, then add the other properties. This massage should be at least three times each day, see? in near equal divisions of time, see?

  8. (Q) What light should be used? (A) Any penetrating light. That of the dry heat, or that that acts the quickest with the blood stream, see? for, as is seen, this is the effect of light - whatever nature that may be applied to a body: All bacilli or all germs are afraid, as it were, of light - or light is destructive to all. Some, as is seen, accumulate in heat that is not penetrating. Hence the variation in the quartz light, the ultra-violet light, the blue light, the red light - each one taking out that that filters through the system. Hence for this, that one most penetrating without being destructive to the tissue proper.

  9. (Q) Is the condition what is known as mastoiditis? (A) Bordering on same. Mastoiditis in its broadest sense meaning an affection of the Mastoid. That exists, but that producing same is as has been given. [140-20] When the basis, or that condition in the general system is builded where these are being destroyed, we have only reached then the needs, as it were, or of local infection - which is in its first place destructive to that producing condition, see?

  10. (Q) Should other treatments given before [140-20] be kept up? (A) Use common sense. Certainly! Just as has been given, the basis of condition must be reached if and were the conditions to be met in this, or any body!

  11. We are through for the present.
